New pets!

we are soon getting two Himalayan kittens and two Nigerian dwarf goats. The kittens will be picked up on the 17th of June and the goats on the 3rd. goats are female, kittens are male, lilac and flame point.

Even though it was super cold out Red laid a normal amount of eggs. The girls are so silly, one day I went out to play with them and got sneak attacked by Hazel, that same day I held three of them , all except Fancy Feet.

yesterday the chickens didn’t lay any eggs in there nesting box so today my mom is fencing in a smaller part of our yard, my mom thought that the chickens laid their eggs in the yard.

Tips

One thing you should do if you have chickens is buy cheap garden boots that are easy to slip on because then you don’t have to get chicken poo on your everyday shoes. Another helpful thing to know is that the more that you pickup the chickens when there younger the more you can pick them up when there older.

Daily life

When the sun rises, mom goes out and lets out the chickens, fills their water and food, and she also gives them treats. When she opens the door in the evening they all come running up to her in greeting. When the sun goes down, she leads them to their coop and closes the latch to protect them from the raccoons. Then mom takes in Aoki’s food and water so the smell does not attract the raccoons.

Aoki

Aoki is our outdoor farm cat (with a heated house) she used to attack the chickens but then Fancy Feet started chasing her away. Eventually the chickens and Aoki bonded.They hang out a lot now.

Robot

Robot is a plump bird. She is very adventurous. Robot loves treats.robot is the first one out of the coop in the morning and the last one in at night

Hazel

Hazel is the royal one; she always has her head high and if she does not want to be held she will not be. She is a very proud bird.

Fancy Feet

Fancy Feet definitely earned her name, she has very fluffy feet and will peck at jewelry. She is also the defender of the group and when ever there is a problem she will chase it away. She is the fluffiest one.

Welcome to No Chimneys

Hi! Here at No Chimneys Micro Farm we have four chickens, Red, Fancy Feet, Hazel and Robot. We got the four at the at the feed store, this past spring (April second). Until they were old enough to go outside we raised them in my room, it smelled.
