Mimi is the kind of pet that won’t let anyone so much as even raise their voice against Yanqing, even if that person is Jing Yuan.

When Yanqing was young and would get in trouble, Mimi would insert herself in the middle of the convention to comfort Yanqing. If Yanqing got sent upstairs and grounded, Mimi would follow after. Always glaring at Jing Yuan before going to comfort her baby.

If Jing Yuan upset Yanqing is any way, like refusing to let him start sword lessons at the age of 6, Jing Yuan could find Yanqing curled up in bed with his face in Mimi’s fur.

When Jing Yuan eventually gets together with Blade and Dan Heng, Mimi is constantly on guard and following Yanqing around. Even going so far as to nip at Blade’s ankle when the older man poked fun at Yanqing. Yanqing is her baby and no one is allowed to make him upset.

(ngl i was so scared i wouldnt get this done cuz i had to completely redraw the hand o.o so glad to have finished it tho! and early too >:3

also SO HAPPY WITH THE FATE COLLAB OUT! fun fact: out of all the times Yanqing was in my false war, he not only always made it into the late gams but only lost 3 times: 2 of those were to me and the last was to Jingliu >:3 bro had so many winning streaks i was shocked and then realized he was only in 2 wars :(

this reminds me of smth i saw that made me think about Yanqing & Jing Yuan

it was specifically i think about a man talking about how he accidentally trained his cat to force him to eat when he was skipping meals by refusing to eat themself until he ate and basically guilted him into taking care of himself

if it ever gets revealed they have habits that revolve around each other i will not be surprised o7

I know Jing Yuan does his best to treat Yanqing professionally when they’re at work and have faith in him as a knight, like when Yanqing went missing after fighting Jingliu and Jing Yuan when asked said “it is not my place to impede him for fear of his well-being” and “I have confidence in him”, but I just KNOW that if Yanqing actually died this dude would immediately fall to Mara. Losing the High Cloud Quintet did a number on him and I fully believe that he lived in a depressive haze driven by duty until he found Yanqing and Yanqing is his reason for living right now. Losing that boy will be his last straw. There is so so so much unremarked on by the narrative tension around the fact that he has to send his TEENAGE STUDENT (son) onto the battlefield and I think Yanqing dying on a mission he sent him on is his greatest fear. Yukong, fellow charioteer and parent who tried to stop her daughter from becoming a pilot, politely chooses not to comment on this.

pretty sure the other event we had Yanqing in was the Aetherium Wars where he was participating for "training"

(i mentioned this with someone else but im like 90% sure Jing Yuan used that as an excuse to get him to play a game :3)

here i couldn't find an exact image so i opened a yt video of the Yanqing v Yunli fight that Feixiao interrupts and screenshotted the moment

you can see here in the top left is where the pink wisp is most clear, and if you look closely the other swords have it too

(took another screen shot this is a few seconds before the first one)

this one proves the other swords have it too, since as the sword generates theres the pink wisp again

when ppl saw the pink shine in Yanqing's cutscene vs Jingliu in his companion quest, the theory was dismissed since it could have been the light reflecting Jingliu's ice. but the theory got a bit more concrete once this cutscene came out since this time theres no other source of it than Yanqing's ice itself. its definitely him, and its definitely intentional since this was animated with his flying ice swords
