I've heard some criticisms of that Lucy movie here on tumblr. It deals with how they portray Asian Americans in the trailer I guess (through stereotypes). I don't know though. I'm not Asian American so I can't speak for them.

Yeah, when I first saw the post and watched the trailer, I think my eyes were all shiny because it was like "yeah hey female action hero!" But upon a second viewing (through less shiny eyes), I can see where those criticisms have ground. It's certainly questionable as to how the movie will handle the whole "villainous Asians" bit, and one can only hope that it won't play out in an uncomfortably racist manner. (Here's to also hoping the movie itself won't suck~)
