A funny thing about magical girl media is that folks who are broadly aware of the genre but don't take it in tend to assume Pretty Cure is the most G-rated of the lot, based on the fact that it's got brighter colours, frillier costumes, and generally younger-looking protagonists than average – then you actually watch the fight scenes and those squeaky middle schoolers are doing Bruce Lee shit to the monsters.

For the past few weeks I've been thinking about anniversary!chara as like a thought exercise on merging all the chara theories into one character, for fun! this has been inspired by toku stuff as i'm recently getting into it (thanks to ratanak's watchalongs on his discord), lot of it being from anniversary shows... I didn't realized we're nearing the 10th anniversary of undertale (DECADE!)

i have forgotten a lot of shit as its been a long ass while ive thought about this game and the fandom's history #washed so expect a lot of inaccuracies and mischaracterizations.

oh yeah and i don't know shit that happens on deltarune. all i know is that kris isn't frisk nor chara nor has any connections or implications about them, so this whole shebang is unaffected.

okay they got 3 forms they can switch between them. theyre all based on the fandom's many different interpretations

anniversary!chara can switch between the forms but idk where you'd put it on the person or on what device. all on you lmao (if anyone bothers seeing this)

genocide!chara (glass cannon), player!chara (balanced, versatile), and narrator!chara (can't be attacked, can't attack, invisible).

geno!chara form does high damage...just like in that route. if you were in the right mood you will be in that gloopy gooey face state where you do even higher damage though somewhat berserk.

this form has the finisher [WORLD ERASURE] and visually inspired by Zero One's finisher text.

player!chara form can use the battle UI stuff as seen in the game, you have ALL the possible items packed in the black box if [ITEMS] were pressed.

if you get lucky or actually bothered to look inside, you can get the "Blaster Au Chocolat" a gun that can summon different AU versions of chara across history. inspired by the zenryoku zenkai cannon and visually, the gavv chocodangun pistols. you could press the icon (on the chocolate square) of whatever AU you need, and you press the trigger.

you can hold the button already summoned AU version and shoot yourself to obtain their powers, though temporarily. inspired by kamen rider decade, kamen rider diend, gokaiger, fire emblem engage and many other tokusatsu anniversary stuff that does this gimmick.

if you shoot it to other AU chara summons they merge, so you could do dumb shit as OuterShift chara. inspired by garyudo

idk what to do with narra!chara and the best i could make up is 4th wall breaking UI interaction bullshit.

the text box appears when chara speaks and can be used. they can summon the window box and trap someone in there.

this has a silly lil synergy with the geno!chara form for the shaking window which for sure stuns the opponent. (in reference to the ending on small windowed mode where it vibrates when they erased the world)

the narrator!chara form finisher is stuffing the opponent's mouth with buttercup flowers. you know... just like how chara fucking died?!?! according to the chara is innocent theory, i think.

as you can tell idk what to do with player!chara form. the theory wasnt as popular as the other two either. same thing with the butterscotch cinnamon pie, they're more than just chocolate lover. you'll be the one to implement this.

"why chara?" i like 'em back then. there is a lot of things you could do with non-AU stuff that the community did.

i hope you enjoyed whatever the hell this is as much i enjoyed making it! happy 10th anniversary to undertale!

soundtrack!chara form let's anniversary!chara perform any and every song that can be found within the fucking game. hell yeah baby! they can do it on every fucking instrument in existence. (this excludes megalo strikes back as that came from toby's pre-undertale stuff.)

Why Magical Girls Are Never Attacked During A Transformation

As some of you might already have guessed, I’m a fan of Japanese girl idols. One of the many, many idol groups in existence today in Japan is NMB48, a Osaka-based spin-off group of the (in)famous AKB48. NMB has a weekly show that’s surprisingly entertaining as well as educational called NMB to Manabu-kun, in which the members of NMB and a few comedians listen to guest lectures by experts in various fields.

Back on May 15th, the theme of the episode was pataphysics/the science of sci-fi. One of the topics of the lecture held by university professor Yanagita Rikao was the age-old question of “WHY ARE MAGICAL GIRLS NEVER ATTACKED WHILE TRANSFORMING???”

This was his answer, based on the magical girl series Futari wa Pretty Cure.

Question: The transformation scenes in Pretty Cure are very long, so why don’t the bad guys attack the girls in the meantime?

“It means the light during the transformation must have the energy of 2,100,000,000kW per 1m2.”

“While the entirety of power that Japan is capable of generating is only 100,000,000kW.”

“So they’re using 21 TIMES the amount of energy the whole of Japan can generate.”

“So what would happen if a bad guy jumped in to try to sabotage their transformation?”

“He would EVAPORATE INSTANTLY.”

“DEATH AWAITS ANYONE WHO DARES TO DISRUPT A PRETTY CURE TRANSFORMATION.”

“So this means the best thing to do would be to transform close to any bad guys.”

“Yes. They are the strongest while they transform, and are practically invincible.”
