i hope you don't leave because of the hs stuff happening :( your posts are very insightful and it would be a shame to lose them.

this is very nice i appreciate it. im not "leaving" so much as im taking a step back from online in general. i feel like my followers know my connection to hs is shaky at best and it comes and goes a lot. and admittedly the arguments this stuff has sprouted are deeply exhausting to me (from both "sides" mind you) and its souring my interest in publicly talking about the comic atm. im glad you like what ive got to say and im sure inevitably i will have more to because my association with this text is an old wound i never quite stop picking.

also just going to state my actual opinions have much more to do with the Myriad of individuals ive known who have been friends/worked with the wp team and associates and can corroborate this being a repeated tactic used to muddy waters. i dont gaf about gio or the sanctity of his reputation but this does corroborate a Lot of what ive known for years. Also just going to gently posit again; if AH believed the things said about stalking and sexual harassment of their employees, collaborators, and Friends (which they claimed to, and stated refysal to ever speak to him), it does not come away looking very good that they were extremely ready to work with him on the uhsc in the first place. i dont have to think some party is infallible or they didnt make tasteless comments to admit to dishonest behavior that has happened Many times without gio being a factor at all.

ok actually will say one more thing. accusations of stalking and (misattributed) sexual harassment predate this link up between AH and gio. aside from the fact hussie has themselves said gio is not a stalker + the shaky reasoning and lack of proof, the way wp has accused people baselessly of sex pestery when met with pushback before, it strikes me as odd at best AH would willingly again work with someone if they believed them to have done Any of those things. and between what i know AH would do to win arguments and smear strangers in other cases it reads very explicitly to me as disinenguous and blatantly obvious this tactic is dropped and reapplied when convenient for them.

little clown playlist i threw together recently. if anyone would like. meant to evoke the general manic back and forth of her mental state during the events of murderstuck. kind of sequential idk.

also i dont even really feel the need to humor the idea that because there are girl characters with physical disabilities people who give a fuck about tavros from that angle are picking and choosing. terezi is not disabled by her blindness in a way that matters and is immediately given a means of circumventing the idea she cannot see and frankly as a visually impaired person i dont really give a fuck what anyone else thinks on the matter. the assertion vriska is tangibly impacted by her missing arm is a joke. only one of these three characters is materially impacted throughout their story by their disability and its repeatedly at his expense. and then as the story caves under the weight of its own hypocrisy only one had the abuse through which it came legitimized under the notion hes cringe and sucks.

i fear that the growing sentiment that people liking characters like tavros only doing so for the idea that theyre yaoibrained male centered atextual fools have taken homestucks self revisionism at face value and are just as at fault for mistaking the shadows for the source as anybody theyre making fun of with those comparisons. im sorry but the idea he wasnt a character and only existed as a means of juxtaposing the point of vriskas emotionality is so blatantly forgetting the point of him throughout act 5 in preference of buying into the way act 6's reactivity to anyone who had a critical bone to pick doubles down on the idea that the story's previous assertions about his character were wrong and the guy we watched be physically and mentally tortured basically sucks anyway so why shpuld we care. like you simply have to not remember or care about the interactions he had primarily WITH vriska and the relevence they held in asserting that shes crafting an identity she feels like she has to at the expense of things important to her. as much as both sides of the aisle are uncomfortable with this fact, they were friends! acting like his feelings and god forbid his relatability are accidental and present within fans only out of a need to "ignore woman characters" is not only weird as hell cope, but reflects of a want to strip the complexity of vriskas decision making, which feels deeply counter intuitive to me if you like... actually give a shit about her and the tragedy of her character rather than just put her into a box of badass girlboss that is doing just as much a disservice of flattening her as anyone calling her unanimously "bad".
