I did this pen and ink piece based on a scene from RebrandedBard's fic, Song of the Mockingbird. It's such a simple but well executed kind of fairytale, and I loved it so much! And this scene made me laugh, where Jaskier and the mockingbird yell at Geralt! I literally read it the day after it was published and wanted to do an old-style illustration for it... two months later, I'm calling it. I'll post some process work later, but I have to say, I enjoyed this immensely. Check out the fic if you haven't already!

Our Flag Means Death feels like a show whose creators did a thorough amount of research into what they were portraying, then decided they didn't need about 70% of what they'd learned. there are all these little details and allusions that are totally historical, peppered in with shamelessly deliberate anachronisms as they make things funnier/cooler, and the end result is a delightfully theatrical mismash that calls back to the entire history of pirate film without aping anything in particular

i have this whole world up in my head where order 66 didnt happen. Luke and Leia live on coruscant with anakin and padme and they're just a family.

BUT thats not all. obi wan is the uncle, ahsoka is like the aunt, the clones are the family members that you actually arent sure how their related to you but anakin says they are so you go with it. the jedi council is the equivalent to satan in anakins opinion

leia is like her mother and appreciates the simplicity and yet complexity of politics while luke learns to be a jedi from his father. luke also likes anakin because he is the exact opposite of himself and anakin still acts like hes nineteen all the time. luke likes his mother because she always has the answers. luke likes obi wan because he orders for both luke and anakin at restaraunts. he likes ahsoka because she taught him how to jump off a cliff safely (anakin flipped his shit unsafely)

leia likes her fathers boldness and appreciates her mothers kindness. she likes that obi wan can compete with anakins sass and that ahsoka is like a best friend/older sister to her. she likes rex because he always rolls his eyes at anakin when he does something funny

in conclusion, anakin doesnt get kicked off the council because all the jedi have bets on how long it is until mace finds out and he still hasnt realized so they're all waiting despite the fact that anakin has said "yeah i gotta go pick up luke and leia" or "being a father is hard, guys"
