I consider self-love to be a very important part of life. The situation when a person has a painful need for another person seems strange to me - well, in any case, to each his own.

So here it is - a heart torn from its own chest, stretching out to its reflection: an act of expressing love. But by the wound in the heart zone, by the blood that flows out of it - this action is painful, in some way desperate. And the cracks in the mirror indicate that self-love here is something wild, spiritually primordial, free and abstract, this is something that can only be felt. The cracks in the mirror are needed to show that by this moment we can be broken and incomplete, but we still accept ourselves as we are - with all the chips that we have. In fact, that I do not draw clothes is... meaning... clothes are something mundane, everyday. it makes the image real, material, when the intention is to make it the opposite.

Why Astarion? I believe that this is what he needs: not power, not strength, not Tav, but the sun within himself. and I also believe that both his versions can accept themselves - the unascended and the ascended. Perhaps they will go different ways, but the result will be the same. (I am an optimist)

I decided to write a little about what I drew and why it is so - I usually don't talk about it, but I often put it into my work purely for myself... something

the girl on the right is not in vain in white flowing clothes, so I want to create a sense of ephemerality from her. she stands to create inequality between the heroines: one is clearly wiser and calmer compared to the other.

the girl on the left is in dark to make the image heavier (+this is such an archetype). she is not completely in armor, to show her partial vulnerability, insecurity. initially I wanted to make light green tones, but went for dirty orange and the constant light from above - there is darkness around, but there is always hope
