Okay- did some more brainstorming and wanted to add.

I personally don't think gumpy was trying to be malicious, I think the kiss was likely a mistake in judgement due to being drunk (may be disproven in the next audio but imo for the time being).

I also don't think it's gumpys fault for Tristan pulling away and neglecting his girlfriend. That's HIS choice, and it's HIS relationship. So up until the kiss, I do believe the majority of fault was on Tristan.

But if the kiss was intentional, gumpy is 100% in the wrong and is completely shady, and Tristan needs to establish boundaries.

Both have had feelings for each other in the past, and obviously those feelings still linger, but gumpy is seemingly not at place where they can be in a relationship and Tristan is in a relationship WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

The problem here is the bigger picture, the two seem like they're pretty into each other, and Tristan from the looks of it prioritizes Gumpy over Ansley, maybe because he knew them for much longer. but still, that's really unfair to my girl Ansley! Maybe Tristan doesn't realize that yet, I don't believe he would purposefully make his gf feel like she doesn't matter much, he doesn't strike me as that kind.

Merman! Elias drabble cus the Rafayel myth banner inspired me 🐚

Courting a human was intriguing to say the least- very few merfolk even attempted it, not like Elias could ask them about it anyways. If word got out that the crown prince, was courting someone not appointed by his father, the mere thought of the scandal already started to form a headache.

An act of rebellion, young adult angst or just the cardinal want of needing to escape the palace walls lead him to a cold night, almost... 10 months ago? It has become a bad habit of Elias's, going to the pier located near the human village and admiring the buildings.

The houses were humble, the warm lights that lit up each homes interior flickering on and off, reminiscent of the stars in the sky. Humans emulated stars- with no magic, no trickery or siren song, how cool was that? Humans were simple, often short sighted and arrogant, but something about it felt... Harmonious?

Perhaps Elias still wore the hypothetical rose tinted glasses when he spotted them, sitting on the edge of the old wooden pier. The moonlight reflected off the water, the breeze drifting through their hair as they dipped bare foot into the ocean, socks and shoes carelessly shrewn beside them. The sound of their hums as they absentmindedly sketched into a notebook- the sound may as well be engrained in his mind. Elias wondered if that was what humans felt when they heard siren song- except Elias would not be lured to his death, he would suffer a far worse fate... Infatuation.
