Best of... It's a new year. There are plenty of things about last year that were forgettable. I really hope the worst is behind us. Some resolutions: live below my means, invest!!! (in the market, in my health, and in my mental wellbeing), enjoy the kids (they will be gone before you know it), and lastly... never stop learning. This is week 17: JAX/IND: Colts smash. If all the favorites win, Colts are still out. GB/CHI: Cheese to cover. Big Mitchie plays for his career. Over? DAL/NYG: Cowboys to win. They are the best of the worst and still might not make it. Under is the play. PIT/CLE: Steelers to cover. Browns have the VID. MRudolph revenge? Also playing for his career. TEN/HOU: Titans smash. Texans spent it all LW and lost to Cincy.  NO/CAR: Saints to win. I could see a kitty backdoor cover. NYJ/NE: Jets to win. The smart man would pass on this, the bettor likes +180. MIN/DET: Vikes to win. Lions are already done. ATL/TB: Bucs to win. Falcons D to keep Brady in till the 3rd quarter. BAL/CIN: Ravens take care of business vs "Paper Tigers". MIA/BUF: Bills to win. But don't need it. Might be resting. Under is preferred.  LAC/KC: Champs will rest, but still win. Pass. SEA/SF: Seattle to win. I feel like the number is inflated. Niners cover 7. Home for the Holidays I had a beautiful Christmas Vacation and visit to NorCal with the family. Stayed in Mill Valley in a sweet vacation rental. It had a hot tub. I have a hot tub in my community that has been cold since March. I really miss that. Bubble baths are nice... but not the same. Santa failed on coming with the PS5 I asked for. Too many elves out with Covid.  This is week 16: MIN/NO: Saints smash. Kamara with 6 TDs for Team Brennan. Merry Xmas! TB/DET: Bucs to win. I could see resting the elders after pulling away late. Playoffs??? I would like to start off by apologizing to the teams that got locked this year if you did not make the playoffs. Ususally in the money league we play a consolation bracket. Side Hussle My older son has a lot of motivation. When he wants something. He has started cleaning yards around the neighborhood for cash. This year he bought himself a new mountain bike and last week, a new gaming computer. I gave him his Xmas present early (the monitor) and he is in heaven... but now has little motivation to do anything but gaming. No you cannot take your meals in front of your computer. Thanks Yet another year of T-Day football is behind us. I was lucky enough to get to visit my Cali Fam. This time my brother and I explored Nevada City and the town of Colfax. We took a trip down to the Bear River with his husky named Sky. Had the best dinner at Tofanelli's in Grass Valley. So good, and dog friendly. This is week 12: HOU/DET: Texans win. Fuller had himself a day. Both for and against me. WAS/DAL: WFT wins! No one cared. Lost with the under. LV/ATL: Vegas to win. With no Julio or Gurley, we floundering. AZ/NE: Cards to win. Pats are slowly fading out. NYG/CIN: G-Men to win and cover. I think Burrow was holding the offense together with silly string. He is done done. CLE/JAX: Browns to win. Bake show to show some offense in better weather, as the Jags give the rock to Glennon. CAR/MIN: Vikes to win. Over 49 is playable. TEN/IND: Titans to S/U win. ML this to wease the juice. Little League Championship Chase's JJV baseball squad: The Lions, made the championship game. He played well and had an RBI single. The team came up short in the end but the game was super exciting and we brought home new hardware. The baseball season continues with hopes that he will stick with it and be "fed" into the high school team.  This is week 11: AZ/SEA: Seahawks to win. I had the above Championship. Halloween Hangover Halloween falling on a Saturday this year made for an exxtra spooky evening. We hit our neighborhood. There were a lot of un-manned bowls due to the virus. The kids loved those houses the best. Don't worry, we used alcohol wipes on all the candy we took in. Then we started season 1 of The Walking Dead. This is week 8. ATL/CAR: Birds win! I had the Thursday night fantasy regrets, and a little league game. IND/DET: Colts to win. Under 49.5 is my play in this one. MIN/GB: GB -6.5 is my play. Under should be considered in heavy winds. Early Voting I have never been more motivated to vote than this year. My state has made it easier than ever. My ballot came in the mail, I filled that thing out and mailed it back the next day. I try not to get political on the blog, or ever, but this year I feel particularly manipulated by our government over the virus. POTUS recovered in a weekend. Killa Cam did not turn into an actual Killa. He was back after a forced early BYE, same with all of the Titans. This is week 7. NYG/PHI: Philly to win. I lost because I laid points. CLE/CIN: Browns to win. Baker benched LW. I still like the over based on how they played each other last time. DAL/WAS: WFT to win. Under is the play. Still not trusting the ginger. Have the Boys turned on McCarthy already? DET/ATL: Lions win. I took the other team last week and we won. So this is the reverse Juju. Over is the play. CAR/NO: Kitties to cover. Choptober I know I've said it before, but I love game sevens. It is my version of must see TV. Especially when one of my teams is playing. Yes baseball. Yes the Braves. I feel shorted by 100 games this season. I am happy with what we got all things considering. If you were considering a last minute birthday suggestion, I would love a win tonight from the Braves. Tuesday Football BUF/TEN to be played Tuesday night. I don't remember ever having Tuesday Football before. Using the virus to your advantage. NFL is stoked for extra prime time coverage. The Virus Strikes POTUS has caught the virus. That is pretty big. Stocks are down. So are the Titans and Killa Cam. PIT/TEN  game is rescheduled to later in October. NE/KC game is currently in limbo. If you are playing fantasy this can seriously impact your team. Hopefully your commissioner has given you a deep bench. I will try to include plays/pick-ups to help your squad this week. This is week 4: DEN/NYJ: Donkeys win. I lost with the under. IND/CHI: Big Dick Nick get the rock. Much to the chagrin of my team last week. I will lay 3 with the Colts, pick up M. Alie-Cox, and play ARob with confidence. NO/DET: I like the Saints minus 4.5. Defense in NO is hurt. LMurray is a sneaky play. Over 54 is also possible. AZ/CAR: Cards to win. Under seems playable. Bridgewater just seems like a back-up.  JAX/CIN: Lean to Cincy. Soft pass. CLE/DAL: Dallas has been great on first downs. Once Dallas takes the lead they won't look back. Pick up MIN/HOU: Texans -4.5 is my play. Minny couldn't practice. Their defense is so bad. HOU schedule has been so rough. SEA/MIA: Russ Can Cook! This game feels like a trap. Pick-up and start Fitzmagic if you are in need at QB. I am taking points with caution. LAC/TB: Under 43 is my play here. TB is hurt on offense. Play your damn Gronk. BAL/WAS: Ravens smash. Start all Ravens with confidence. I almost like laying DDs. NYG/LAR: Rams have looked super efficient. Giants have looked JV. Pace of game has me worried about DDs but has me leaning under 53. BUF/LV: Bills seem pretty strong. Diggs was the greatest addition to this team. Start Renfroe as the deep options for Vegas are thin. PHI/SF: Give me the Niners -7. Home School School is different to say the least this year. We were given chrome books and now have class at home. I have sat in on class a number of times and get to see how opposite my children are. It has been interesting. I can see and hear the instructor struggling to get kids to log on and turn stuff in. So far the grades are good. This is week 3: MIA/JAX: Fish win. I skipped. LV/NE: I like Pats to win. Hoodie! Where do you get these wonderful toys? LAR/BUF: Bills have been solid. I will lay 2.5. The Growth With the virus costing me my job, I was was worried my insurance would run out. That is a scary feeling. I had my wellness check-ups and that included a colonoscopy. Well they found something. So I had it cut out. I had a four night stay at the hospital. It has cost me about $1000 in just co-pays. My first experience on morphine. Imagine angels licking the insides of your veins... annnd the good news, the growth comes back benign!!! This is week 2: CIN/CLE: Dumb KHunt was the play. I also had a win with a backdoor cover. LAR/PHI: I like the Eagles here. Rams got lucky, as did the WAS FBT. I am concerned about the amount of time Wentz has spent on his back so far. Hurt O-line. CAR/TB: Taking points here. Godwin is out. Might sprinkle a little ML on the Kitties. DEN/PIT: Riding PIT to win. Under is also getting some love.  ATL/DAL: Taking points. Birds showed flashes of what we can do. Now lets do it. The Cheese Welcome back!!! I hope you had a great off-season. Mine was different. My Government shut down my place of business and then put rules in place so my company would not be able to bring me right back. The Government sent cheese as retribution. I invested some of said cheese in something called Zoom. So far so good on that. This is NFL week 1. HOU/KC: Champs smash. I lost with the under. MIA/NE: Pats win under the strength of the hoodie. I like the under 41.5 because both of these offenses are kinda fresh off the boat. CLE/BAL: Ravens win a close one. Might take points with CLE. Prefer the under 47.5. Call it lack of pre-season this time. NYJ/BUF: Bills win by 3. Love the under 39.5 here. Call it 18 MPH winds. LV/CAR: Kitties win by 3. Gruden is not big on conditioning. I don't think they will be tackling by the 4th quarter. SEA/ATL: Dirty Birds win by 3. If I was a teaser guy I could catch +8.5. I could see a 26-23 total. PHI/WAS: Eagles win. Barely. The Championship Weekend Welcome back to the blog. It's a great weekend for fantasy football. Starting BPerriman rn and not crazy about what I see so far. Long weekend still. Star Wars 9 this afternoon. Can't wait for that. Work tonight. Then two more off days. Picking up a basketball hoop tomorrow. Nice! This is Week 16. Bucs over Texans. Need Perriman in the second half to rack up yards. Bills to cover at NE. This should be more like -3.5. Niners over Rams. Tease this down to a better number. Birds over Jags. Jags pulled out a crazy win last week, so did the Falcons. Saints over Titans. Brees likes the TD race. Giants over Redskins. Jones back in. Snoozy. Steelers over Jets. Bell revenge. But I think the Steelers are the ones who want to hurt him more. Fish over Bungles. Bungles don't want to play football at all. Colts over Kitties. Grier gets the rock for the Kitties. I don't believe he's NFL ready. Ravens over Browns. Browns look defeated. I would have sat OBJ too. Broncos over Lions. Lions looked pretty bad vs the Bucs. Chargers over Raiders. Snoozy.
