The spreading bedstraw (lat. Galium humifusum). This drought-resistant plant retains its green color even during periods of summer grass dieback. It regrows quickly after grazing and serves as a valuable forage for horses.

Its stem is very slender, and in gardens it requires support. Without it, the plant lies flat on the ground, covering it so densely that hardly any other grass can be seen🌿

Подмаренник распростёртый или ясменник распростёртый (лат. Galium humifusum). Засухоустойчивое растение, даже в период летнего выгорания травы сохраняет зеленый цвет. После выпаса скота быстро отрастает, служит ценным подножным кормом для лошадей.

Стебель у данного растения очень тонкий и в садах нуждается в опоре. Без нее растение ложится на землю и устилает ее так плотно, что почти не видно другой травы🌿

The field eryngo, or eryngium (lat. Eryngium creticum), is a perennial herbaceous plant. Interestingly, not only the flower heads, but also the stems and leaves display a striking blue-violet hue with a metallic sheen — a rare and captivating feature💠

The plant has spines, though fortunately they are not poisonous. Fun fact: in plants, spines are the result of various organs transforming over the course of evolution. In some species, shoots become spines, in others — leaves, parts of leaves, stipules, or even roots💠

Синеголовник критский, или эрингиум (Eryngium creticum) — многолетнее травянистое растение. Интересно, что сине-фиолетовый, с металлическим отливом, оттенок имеют не только соцветия, но и стебли с листьями — редкая и завораживающая особенность💠

У синеголовника есть колючки, к счастью, неядовитые. Кстати, шипы у растений — результат видоизменения различных органов в ходе эволюции. У одних видов в колючки превращаются побеги, у других — листья, части листьев, прилистники, а у некоторых даже корни💠

The fragrance of the flowers resembles acacia, and the root is so strong that it can withstand the weight of an adult. The plant feels comfortable in heat up to +40℃ and frost up to -8℃.

That’s an interesting question, because I’ve never actually stopped to think about how it all began😅

I guess I was really lucky — our countryside plot is far from the city, surrounded by fields and streams, and there's a big forest nearby where you can truly get lost. My mom and I used to spend the whole summer there every year💚 She would tell me about plants🌿, and my dad about mushrooms😏🍄‍🟫 I think that had a big influence on me.
