Fanart de Hedonistbyheart.
Ok, quizás no es una gran imagen, pero es la escena lo que la hace maravillosa.

The night before the transformation, instead of verbally explain all the wonders and advantages that vampire life offers, lestat should have used more traditional methods of persuasion and benefit from resembling a biblical angel from the point of view of poor feverish louis. it would have been much more productive if for once lestat had employed his mouth for something useful like sucking louis' cock and rimming/fingering him to offer him a pleasant memory of his last night as a human being 🥰

the thing about Marius and Mael that kills me so much is the way Mael is sort of his maker by proxy and yet not--not only that Mael is younger than Marius now, that he is weaker without the same access to Akasha's blood, that they didn't even have the bonding experience of doing the deed to see each other's souls in a way that might endear them to each other even amid the hostility !!!
the way Marius spends his mortality without a mother and the way his mother sort of haunts his life both in regards to his murky social status and also the half of him that feels barbaric----the way his life as a blood drinker is then also so defined by being maker-less.
the way he's chosen because he looks like his mom, looks like Mael, and leaves with neither of them except the stigma he wears on his very body for eternity!!!!!!!
of course he throws himself at The Parents! of course! of course!!!!!!!!!!!

I had an idea of Lestat as the man of action, the man that could do things that I never could, the man who could make decisions that I’d never had the nerve to make, and the person who could go through life joyfully in spite of the questions that torment me, the doubts that torment me, the horror of death that torments me. (...) [Lestat] never really absorbs a tragic definition of himself for very long. He always comes back laughing at everything and just rebounding. It may take him a few years, but he always does it. I really wanted to explore a personality different from my own. - Anne Rice (source)

" I wanted that rage to carry me over the threshold to his grave.
But nothing came from him."
Drew one of my favorite moments in TVL between Lestat and Armand, since AMC isn't giving us Gabrielle (yet), and it's a long wait until we get more Lesmand :')

Hi! How do you see the dynamic of Vampire Louis and Human Lestat?
That's hard!! I think Lestat would miss out on vampirism though, I doubt Louis could be convinced to turn him without serious extenuating circumstances. We already know from TotBT that Louis wouldn't re-turn him even with almost 200 years of history.
I actually think it could create a really interesting story though, vampire Louis falling for a beautiful, charismatic actor who he can't stay away from but also can't bring himself to turn. Instead, there could be some great tension with Louis realizing Lestat can and will die eventually but Lestat (if he knows Louis' nature) wanting to be turned because he's so afraid of death like in TVL and desperate to be with Louis forever.
Maybe in this timeline Magnus attacks Lestat but fails to turn him, only injure him/drain his blood, and Louis turns him to save his life in the heat of the moment, but then has to contend with the guilt of creating a fledgling and damning Lestat's soul for "selfish" reasons. That could be their point of tension, Lestat wanting to live their based vampire romance but Louis is too guilty and pained by what he did to embrace their life together. Honestly, IWTV could even play out from there. Imagine Lestat turning Claudia to keep his lover and maker from leaving him or something.
I'm kind of into this actually. Maybe a one-shot is in the future.

The fact that the Marquis has been completely absent from all adaptations of IWTV is honestly so ridiculous to me. He’s such a fundamental part of Lestat’s characterization, especially if you view IWTV as a standalone story. He gives us one of the only real glimpses into Lestat’s past: his age, his family, and some sense of why he is the way he is.
But more than that, the Marquis serves as a crucial link between the Lestat we meet in IWTV and the one we see in TVL. Every time someone claims the Lestat in TVL feels like a completely different person, I point to the Marquis. We saw Lestat caring for his abusive, bitter father in IWTV, a man who openly admits to mistreating his son. That alone shows us Lestat immense capability for love and forgiveness (even if he’s having a full breakdown at the idea of killing his father later on, which Louis can’t seem to comprehend). That side of him has always been there, it didn’t come out of nowhere in TVL.
Idk, I just have always thought the Marquis is a great character device and one of the best bits from IWTV. I mean, Louis kills Lestat's father, everytime I remember that I have to pause for a moment. A real shame we never got to see that.

That the Sonic the Hedgehog film series has increasingly felt the need to soften its source material's implicit criticism of state and police authority is very funny, because how gutless have you gotta be that an E-rated video game about a cartoon rat fighting evil robots is too political for your taste?
