With a heavy heart, we are announcing our closure Not By the Moon. It’s been a wonderful few months, but with activity down, we just don’t feel this roleplay will continue to thrive. 

We’d like to thank all the members for considering us and for their dedication to this roleplay. We consider this such a successful venture because of all the creativity you guys brought to the table. We hope you will all join us in our next venture.

So It Begins: Part Two

Someone has infiltrated Elestren Castle for during the Independence Day ball. Demons and reanimated skeletons are now storming the castle. The most obvious suspect is the Dark Witch, but there is no telling who is spearheading the attack.

Location: Elestren Castle In-Game Date: February 21st, 301 A.D.W. (Independence Day) , Nighttime to Sunrise Event Length: February 14th 12:00 PM CST - March 18th 11:59 PM CST 

Details:

This event marks the first major deviation from the novel. As the re-enactment nearly reached its pinnacle (the Dark Witch being defeated), skeletons charged the castle.

Instead of becoming interested in the Fairy (and therefore distracted), the Dark Prince went through with his original plan to avenge his mother and the Darien Vale.

Alongside the skeletons, demons are now attacking Elestren Castle, aiming for the royal family and select nobles.

The fighting will cease at dawn, when the Dark Prince’s army will retreat. 

Many knights were injured. No word on any casualties yet.

No one knows who is an enemy or foe.

Bonuses:

Post an open starter and/or reply to an open starter concerning the second part of the event by March 18th. You can only receive a prize once for each task and can choose from the following prizes:

An AI picture that shows your muse’s essence

An aesthetic of your muse

An rp event tailored to your muse

Your FC will be added to the RP promos

A meme dedicated to your muse

If you manage to complete both tasks, the admin team will grant you a special request (within reason).

So It Begins: Part One

In honor of its 301 years of independence, the Amaris royal family invites everyone in the kingdom to Elestren Castle for a ball. Come celebrate with food and merriment. Guests of honor include the descendants of the valiant rebellion and the beloved Good Witch.

Location: Elestren Castle In-Game Date: February 21st, 301 A.D.W. (Independence Day) , Sunset Event Length: February 1st 12:00 PM CST - March 18th 11:59 PM CST (Includes Part 2 of Event)

Details:

This event marks the beginning of the novel.

Originally, this is where the Dark Prince and Crown Prince become interested in the Fairy. This launches one of the major conflicts in the novel.

The ball will last from sunset until dawn. 

The celebration is a masquerade, which is considered particularly offensive in the Darien Vale, as their biggest celebration is a masquerade.

Previous celebrations have been a regular ball.

The theme of the ball is “Honoring Elestren”, however people might take that. (e.g. dressing like native animals, the founding families, etc.) 

This year, the main event is a re-enactment of the supposed final battle between the Good Witch and Dark Witch. The re-enactment will take place just before midnight.

Though the official roleplay has not begun yet, a lot of deviations have already occurred. Please let us know if we missed anything!

Original Storyline: The original storyline is unknown. No official events from the book have yet to happen.

Several people have been reborn or are now aware that they are in a novel.

The Forgotten Child has transmigrated and is attempting to change the ending of the novel.

The Bard is spreading prophecies across the land early.

The Fairy and the Crown Prince have met prior to the ball. The interaction was quite awkward.

The Dark Prince and the Rival have developed a complicated relationship with romantic undertones.

The Dark Witch and the Crown Prince met without knowing each other’s identities. 

The Fairy and the Forgotten Child have interacted.

The Fairy and the Rival have developed a good relationship.

We have added a “storyline update” option to the submit box. If any deviations occur to the larger story that you feel the rest of the roleplay should know about, please let us know before the end of January. Just include any information that you feel roleplayers might need to know.

E.g. The Fairy and the Crown Prince have now met prior to the ball. (this is a major deviation as they are now developing a vastly different relationship)
