First mini project...
So the first mini project we discussed was that surrounding hobbies, nice and simple, but still gets the hashtag in use on many different platforms. This can be done how ever you please, be it a photograph, a gif, a video, text, poem, whatever tickles your fancy just as long as it includes the hashtag and can be uploaded on our platforms, emailed to the address if it needs to go on Youtube/wordpress (or anonymously) or can be got to via a link e.g. a @NotJustTrans tweet with the link attached and hashtagged. Below is my example of this - well it explains itself, so go on then its your turn now!

Hey
Don't you just feel that you are just Trans now? Well you're more. Together we can change that. So this idea came after a conversation that I had with fellow Trans individuals about how we feel we are placed on a pedestal within society, we are still segregated and that we still carry this aura of taboo, 'not normal', 'not human' and I feel that we need to work to change this. I mean what is normal anyway? It is a stereotypical societal view we must adhere to.... Erm NO! We all fight for our rights in different ways, whether they are Trans, LGBTQQI, or something; else they all intertwine. In my opinion they are all basic human rights, we are all fighting to be treated not only equally, but to be treated as fully human, so is everyone on this planet in their own way. So here is the idea: it all starts with the hashtag #NotJustTrans (c), because we are not, we are all humans, we all are more than just Trans. Placing this hastag on everyday generic things will help it circulate. But there will be structure using other forms of social media and YOUR help. There will be weekly questions, a youtube channel, a twitter account, a submission tumblr and a website all revolving around the hastag #NotJustTrans (c). What we want you to do is just be yourselves, we want to steer away from everything being focused upon us just being Trans, even if it is as simple as posting a picture of your dinner and hastaging it, or wearing one of our T-shirts when we start production, anything is something and EVERYONE can get involved. Don't you just hate all those awkward questions people ask you? Well we are going to be asking them to everybody, we will film or document there reactions, we are striving to make being Trans a 'norm'. Imagine where this could lead, imagine tweeting a picture of your dinner with the hashtag and Nigella Lawson retweets using the same hashtag. If this idea was to take off, not only would it make Trans people, issues and education visible, it could lead us in the right direction to start stepping off our more negative social pedestal we find ourself upon. If this grows it could reach national level, it could reach the wider media, it could change the way we are represented entirely. If we can get this ball rolling we could begin to fundraise, create merchandise and begin to utilise the works of other Trans individuals, for example; artists, musicians, writers, the list is endless and so are the opportunities. This could be done through competitions, events, advertising, on the the social networking sites and possibly more; the possibilities are endless. If we can use this to raise awareness, educate and fundraise we could make such a difference, together, we need YOU. So come on people, together we can do this, together we can make a positive change.
