She's learning so fast. Issue 13 and she's already spider-manning. By age 21 she'll be sleeping in that costume

Man, I really do love this first run. So small. So weird. So personal. So quintessentially street-level. Kamala is instantly charming. Her family feels so real. The city itself is a character. A misfit figuring out her strange powers will never get old.

I’m beginning to think Miles and Kamala get along so naturally because they both belong to respective diasporas they don’t fit in with. Like, as a sheltered biracial kid and a second gen American immigrant, their personalities are so informed by mainstream western culture that they simply can’t live up to the myopic idea of who they’re supposed to be according to their race/ethnicity, and from a watsonian perspective they can probably sense that in each other.
Like, I was thinking about how Kamala’s described as an ABCD in her show, how her peers in Pakistan make fun of her for speaking poor Urdu in her comics or outright refer to her as a self hating Pakistani for being so tethered to American culture, and it sounded exactly like the south asian variant of “You aren’t black enough,” an actual narrative Miles had to contend with in real life because he initially didn’t speak aave, wasn’t particularly stylish and wasn’t depicted as interested in things like music or basketball.

whats ur thoughts on the change between ms marvel elastic powers to the cosmic ones she has in the mcu do you think its a detriment of her character due to the main reason she had stretch powers ? Or do you preffer it and so why?
// this is a great question omg 😭🙏🙏 thank you for this! Me, personally. I like both but I rather prefer her elastic powers because she was always like that. That was always her power in the comics, the cosmic powers are cool don’t get me wrong, it fits into parts of the show pretty well, I think they’re awesome (as a fan of the show :3) but I feel like it would have also been cool if they stuck to her original power, I also enjoy the comics obviously so it would have been cool to see how they would go about it if they kept it.
But ALAS, I still like her cosmic powers. This is my opinion chat !
