An open letter to a guy from tinder

I’m sorry that I unmatched you, I tend to panic in these situations. You see, we talked for two months straight. We sent snapchats every night. It’s not that I didn’t think you were real, its that it got very real, very fast. I’m sorry I bailed on you those times we were supposed to meet up, it’s just that I was so intimidated by what you were looking for that I didn’t consider what I was looking for. I was intimidated by my own self consciousness, by my low self esteem, by that little voice in the back of my head that says “ he will say anything just to hook up”. It’s not fair for me to have assumed that of you so for that I apologise. However you cannot blame me for feeling this way. It was one month in and you called me beautiful. I didn’t believe you. I was physically incapable of believing you. I felt like you barely knew me so the "beautiful" you saw was only what you saw. I didn’t believe a single thing that came out of your mouth because every guy before you said the same to me and I was not going to be made a fool of again. I know, I know this is what every one says. But there is truth to it, a painful truth. The truth is I don't have to date you just because you're a nice guy. I require more than just being a decent human being.

In the end I think your kind of love and my kind of love would not have mixed well. You liked talking everyday, and I only spoke when there was something to say. I don’t cuddle, I don’t blush, I don’t gush over the things you say. I don’t melt. For anyone. I have a policy now, It’s “leave before you can be left” and that’s exactly what I did. I would never have even given you the chance to leave.

I hope you find that girl. She’s out there waiting for you.

I'm playing video games and my cat is curled up on the blanket next to me. Everytime I shuffle or make a sound she looks up and gives me a dirty look like "I will cut you human" .she will keep staring at me until I say "I'm sorry" out loud, at which point she puts her head back down to sleep.

This week's final thoughts

Got into a huge blow out with my older sister that upset me the entire day and erupted into an even bigger fight this evening. We had it out, said our piece, and apologized on both ends. Within less than a minute of making up, she was offering to pick me up to go for a ride and hang out. My younger sister is currently asleep in my bed while I play video games so that I don't have to be by myself in my room. She has such a big heart. She is my healer. Yes, I aware of how fortunate I am to have such a great relationship with my siblings. And yes I am very aware of how rare this kind of friendship can be. Having a sibling you are very close with means you're never truely alone and I will forever be grateful to my parents for giving me these two people. It is days like this that make me happy to have an existence on this Earth. Nothing but love and good energy this year, that's what it's about.
