@randomramblimgs Sorry for the late reply. I'm happy to hear how much you liked my fic, I'm especially glad I managed to nail Eros' characterization! He is a tough one to write.
I really do want to continue writing and finish this story, but progress for CH4 is going very slow - and I'm not going to lie, my interest for Your Throne has dwindled considerably since my last update which is part of the reason why I struggle so much with motivating myself to write. (I got frustrated with later canon events in the webtoon that made me take a break from YT in general, so yeah..).
So while I do still have the intention to continue writing it, I can't promise an update any time soon and it might take a while. I know the fic has already been going at an excruciatingly slow pace update-wise (i first published it over a year ago...), so I really am sorry for that.
Finally, I hath updated!
Please be mind full of the TWs in this chapter.
Snippet:
But Eros’ eyes didn’t ever seem to leave hers, captivating Psyche and refusing to let her go, no matter how much she suddenly felt the need to pull away. She had seen Eros smiling before, had seen him laugh, but there was something different about his current expression – there was a certain intensity, a fire in his eyes that made her breath hitch. And as Eros smiled, so full of exhilarating joy and delight bursting out of him that it made Psyche’s head spin, she couldn’t help but think that all his past smiles appeared pale and weak in comparison. A small part of Psyche wondered whether Eros had ever even genuinely smiled at her before this moment.

How I imagine a child between Psyche and Medea would be like! Please suspend your disbelief for this and no, I don't have a logical explanation for how Circe could have been conceived.
Anyway. Circe bears the Solon name instead of the Callista's because while Medea is about to take over the Duchy, Psyche doesn't seem interested in succeeding her father (also, a Duke's title is more powerful than a Count's). So Circe's set to be the Junior Duke for the Solon Family.
Like Medea, she turned out to be a child prodigy. Circe grew up with all the love she could have asked for, especially since Medea and Psyche had terrible childhoods, so they both made sure Circe would have a much happier time as a child.

My brain has been merciful to me after my complaining, i finally managed to write a short piece for my beloved Psydea love child, Circe Solon. Will be shortly posted.
I have too many Your Throne fic ideas and not enough energy or motivation to do them all and frankly, I find this insulting of my brain to not pump out more writing juice for me

You know what strikes me as really, really odd in Psyche’s flashbacks?
Her appearance. Even though confined in the basement, Psyche is supposed to be the daughter of nobles. And yet, in the very first glance we see of her childhood, not only does she wear old, tattered clothes and has unkempt, hair, the clothes are dirty and you can see bruises/dirt on her knees. I can understand if they wouldn’t give her pretty, expensive dresses since she would not go outside anyway but to neglect her to such extreme that Psyche looks much more like a child living on the street instead of a Count’s daughter? To give her clothes that aren’t washed and are clearly filthy? Not even combing her hair?
Also, how did Psyche get so dirty? Apparently she has been confined to the basement since a very long time, and within that room, I doubt there is this a way to get herself or her clothes in that state. She’s clearly been outside.
So does that mean this flashback was shortly after Psyche has been confined? But why didn’t they bother to give her a bath then? And Psyche’s words during that flashback contradict this assumption, she asks what the outside is like and wants to know from her mother why she isn’t allowed to leave.
Tumblr media
There’s another brief flashback to Psyche’s time in the basement in Chapter 87 and that looks more right, she wears plain clothes but they seem clean and don’t seem to be ripped up and she looks at least physically taken care of. (The hair looks more healthy too but it could also be because of SAM’s change of art during the story).
But THEN we have the flashback to Psyche meeting Eros for the first time:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now that looks like what a noble would wear, if you ignore the blood on her. Her hair is braided, she actually wears jewelry and the clothes have laces with nice, flowery designs to give it a more elegant finish.
But my questions are: when did this happen exactly? Afterwards, was Psyche immediately put back in the basement with her old, tattered clothes? Why was she let out in the first place, alone in the middle of the night? And I assume her parents have let her out instead of Psyche sneaking outside simply because someone must have clearly put her in these clothes, gave her jewelry to wear and braided her hair.
The way Psyche told it is incredibly vague.
“The first time she ventured outside” leaves open so many possible interpretations.
And finally, the other question that actually nags me the most is why hasn’t Medea questioned these? I mean, she saw how Psyche looked as a child with her own eyes and yet, not once did she thought back to it and wondered why she was dressed like that.
True, in the heat of the moment and everything that has then happened, this is easy to go under and be forgotten, but Medea is so often hailed as a genius who remembers and thinks everything through so it does baffle me she just ignored these obvious red flags in Psyche’s past. (It might be because of other, more pressing matters and in order not to trigger any more painful memories for Psyche though but I’m more inclined to think it’s SAM who just doesn’t want to address Psyche’s past yet so Medea cannot either.)

New chapter.
Snippet:
Psyche stumbled through the dark, her bare feet bruised and slightly bleeding, courtesy of particularly sharp edges of pebble that had been strewn around the street. She was having trouble breathing and her sides were hurting from too much running.
It was the first time in her life Psyche had exercised this much, the first time she had taken so many consecutive steps, and her body had trouble to accommodate to this change.
And because she had run out with nothing but her old, tattered dress on her body, Psyche was completely unprepared for the cold outside. She was shivering pathetically from the night wind, her arms futilely wrapped around her upper body in an attempt at warmth.
It was the most miserable state her body had been in and yet, Psyche felt almost giddy from the excitement and happiness whirling inside her.
Her body was trembling like a leaf in the wind, but Psyche couldn’t even focus on this because her gaze was utterly transfixed at the sight above her.
Though it was in the middle of the night, never before had she seen a sky this bright and beautiful.

This particular exchange between Nanno and Yuri really stood out to me, upon rewatch.
In the last two shots, Yuri genuinely looks upset at what Nanno had said and honestly, I cannot blame her.
It’s clear Nanno was not in her best state the last episode, she looks much more tired and listless during this moment in particular. Even so, what she did with that last sentence was basically just dismissing Yuri (and Junko’s) trauma by implying they aren’t ‘real’ victims. Yuri and Junko are far from being angels or even righteous but this has nothing to do with their pain not being valid.
Yes, Yuri always goes way too far with her punishments and is too ruthless - but this does not make her not a victim of horrific sexual abuse nonetheless. It reminds me of the damaging, still prevailing concept of the 'good’ victim, someone completely free of all messy flaws, who deals with their trauma in a sanitized, acceptable way.
Screaming, crying hysterically, eyes focused on the floor, shaking, and shoulders crouched forward. When it comes to victims of sex crimes, society has a very narrow idea of how they are expected to react.
From the attack itself, to the police report and during appearances in court, victims are expected to look and act a certain way: distressed, crying, and vulnerable.
Just because Yuri doesn’t act like a typical, distressed victim and instead decides to go down her own path of action (regardless of whether that path is righteous or not), does not mean she didn’t suffer from abuse.
When trying to comprehend the world around us, we depend on categorization and labels. It makes the overwhelming amount of information we take in every day more manageable. But when we start to categorize and label people, we risk losing sight of their humanity. That’s how we end up with the confusing and harmful idea of a “perfect victim.”
[…]
[The perfect victim] has never recruited other girls to be trafficked and she most certainly has not participated in any illegal activities.
(The articles I’ve linked are primarily about victims of sex trafficking but this generally applies in all kinds of abusive/traumatic scenarios)
I think just like Yuri, Nanno has a faulty view of victims.
From Nanno’s lines here, she implies that the moment Junko and Yuri stopped being ‘good people’, she does not see them as victims.
As for Yuri, she goes the opposite way. In her eyes, the moment you’ve been subjected to injustice, you are in the right and no one can judge you for your actions.
Both are wrong. They both place victims on a certain pedestal, both are the opinion victims cannot be bad people, just in a different way.
Victims of abuse aren’t always saints, they do not always react the ‘right’ way and being a victim does not automatically mean everything you do is justified. They are human, so they are flawed. Yuri is the perfect example for this.
In my opinion, Yuri’s view is just a little bit more empathetic towards victims.
And that’s why, in the end, both Junko and her mother turned against Nanno. They rejected Nanno’s judgment and indirectly, sided with Yuri’s methods instead.

I’m glad to see someone else found that Minnie’s punishment seemed too disproportionate to what she’s done - like, yeah what she did was absolutely horrifying and the way she evaded responsibility was infuriating.
But different from other episodes, i really had no glee in watching her suffering, it was just uncomfortable and jarring how severely Nanno punished her.
I guess one reason was because Minnie seemed so human during the episode - she had panic attacks, she cried and actually, I do think she felt remorse. It was just she pushed it so far away from her and refused to acknowledge it. Her father offered her a way to escape responsibility, and I think a lot of teenagers in that situation would have taken it. It really seemed that Minnie wasn’t just suffering because she was scared she might be punished, but because she genuinely felt terrible for killing these people. (Just not enough to actually do something about it though, which is probably why viewers didn’t empathize with her pain.)
And also, I have to mention it, the people I considered one of the vilest out of everyone were the characters from S01E2 (the group of boys who wanted to gangr*pe Nanno and the girls that orchestrated everything). Because different from Minnie, they didn’t feel any regret at all, just fear that it will come out and their futures will be ruined. They even killed Nanno multiple times. And different from Minnie, who didn’t intend to kill these people, they definitely intended to do all these things and the murder wasn’t an accident. And if I compare the punishment of that group to Minnie’s, I can’t help but feel like Minnie suffered more for less.
But also, I kind of understanded why the show went to such extremes because Minnie’s episode was based on a real case that sparked so much outrage, so it was there as a catharsis that the real life victims never got.
Sorry for the rant, I just have a lot of opinions about this episode..
Nanno’s breaking point had to be “Jennie X” and “Minnie and the 3 Dead Bodies”
That was when Nanno crossed the line between justice and absolute cruelty

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: เด็กใหม่ | Girl From Nowhere (TV) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Relationships: Nanno & Yuri (Girl From Nowhere) Characters: Nanno (Girl From Nowhere), Yuri (Girl From Nowhere), Junko (Girl From Nowhere), Jane (Girl From Nowhere), (Last two only mentioned) Additional Tags: Implied/Referenced Rape/Non-con, (the events from the Episode 'Yuri' are discussed), Dialogue Heavy, Character Study, Introspection Summary:
Nanno and Yuri's discussion from the last episode of season 2, expanded.
She stared at the immortal being next to her, a deranged glint in her brown eyes.
“You cannot condemn humans for seeking their own retaliation. Not everyone will quietly sit back and wait for someone like you to come in and deal out punishment in our stead,” Yuri hissed. “What’s the difference between humans dirtying their hands to punish wrongdoers themselves and what you’re doing, Nanno?
What gives you the right to judge us?”
[...]
“Just because you’ve been a victim doesn’t give you the right to murder whoever you deem worse than you,” Nanno responded. “It still does not absolve you of your actions. Following your logic, it would mean the victim is always right and can never do wrong. Such thinking is too fallible."

Blue
(Just a very short reflection on what Medea and Psyche define as happiness.)
.
For Psyche, Happiness was blue.
Blue, like the endless beauty of the sky stretching all over the horizon, its sunlight chasing away any shadows lingering around.
Blue, like Eros, and his warm smile as he took her hand and guided her into freedom.
For Psyche, blue was happiness, and that happiness was Freedom.
.
For Medea, Happiness was blue.
Blue, like the glistening jewels adorning the crown and the scepter destined for the Crown Princess – a gleaming, tantalizing promise of power and recognition.
Blue, like the royal family, standing strong and firm at the very top of this carefully construed hierarchy, leading the Empire into historical glory.
For Medea, blue was happiness, and that happiness was Power.
