do you have any tips on developing ocs?

hehe i guess what helps for me when i'm trying to oc-craft is just like .... putting them in all kinds of different scenarios and trying to imagine them interacting with different characters and just generally spinning them around in my brain a lot . how do they feel about the people around them, what are their views and opinions on themselves and the things that happen around them and why do they feel that way, what are the most important events in their lives, how does a day in their life go ...

im not any kind of authority or reliable source on this kind of stuff though so i can only offer you my own thoughts ... theres tons of lists of oc development questions on tumblr as well that are a lot of fun in like writing communities :-) they're more broad but still good fun even if you're doing fandom ocs

I had this ask in me for a long time. Myrielle has amazing curly, Aerion has amazing waves/curls. Why does genes hate Maegor and Aenys so much it denied them the curls T_T

it's because i used to draw aerion's hair much straighter!!!! they took after dad ... but since i changed my aerion design a bit to give him more curly hair maybe they need a new look too ...
