Another #tbt: “New York/New Wave,” which opened 35 years ago, featured 118 then little-known artists including the second-ever showing by a young Jean-Michel #Basquiat. Advertisement for "New York/New Wave" featuring a photograph by David Armstrong. @artforum described the exhibition affectionately as "The Armory Show of the 80's" referring not to the fair in its current iteration but the Armory Show of 1913 that is accredited with bringing some of the first and best examples of #ModernArt to #NewYork. #MuseumWeek #HeritageMW (at MoMA PS1)
