Delicious Polish Swatches On My Nubby, Chubby Nails
6 posts
My name is M and saying I love nail polish is an understatement. I made this blog to swatch my dopamine obsession while also getting to show some representation for all the short, chubby, nubby nails out there.

I'm sharing one of my favorite nail care channels on YouTube - The Salon Life! She goes over a lot of really helpful information on how to take care of your natural nails. Consider checking out more of her videos if you're interested in taking care of your nails. 💅🏻

The first bundle I've ever purchased from Holo Taco and of course it's the one that comes without a collection box. IT'S COOL. :')
And totally worth it. I want to drink these, except coffee IRL totally wrecks my digestive system. Much better to experience it on my nails rather than in my tummy!
These gorgeous shades are a great gateway into the popular "skittles" manicure trend and they are very beautiful in both indoor lighting and probably outdoor lighting. I say probably because I'm in Minnesota and being a nocturnal Minnesotan in the winter means I'm never seeing the sunlight until April.
But at least I have coffee nails. They're really pretty.
The set comes in five beautiful shades:
Oat Couture Blushed Ice Holo Cappuccino Need I Say Mocha? Expresso Your Holo
Side note: One of these days I'll have enough time to pour in some more effort to make these swatches look good. Today is not that day.

Recently received two polishes from another brand that I really like called Cirque Colors. This brand is AAPI owned and one of my favorite things about it is that they often release “do good” polishes, which donate proceeds towards a designated charity.
They also sometimes release limited polishes, like the darker plum-colored one here, which is called Paradox (a magnetic polish).
The second color is called “Minetta,” and is advertised as a pink nude creme polish, but honestly it feels much more yellow in tone to me. I am very pasty and white, and I’ve got pink/neutral undertones in my skin, so I don’t think that would really skew the color of this polish too much? But, alas.
It’s still nice to have a nude in my collection. Nudes are really under-appreciated. The formula for it is really nice, too - it self levels very easily, and that’s something that’s really important to have, especially in a creme polish formula. As much as nudes are nice, we don’t want any streaking!

This lovely, sparkling red is the color “Say Love” from one of my favorite nail polish brands, ILNP. This brand is cruelty free, meaning that they do not test their products on animals and they aim to not use animal or insect derived ingredients. They are 7-free, which means they do not contain 7 of the potentially dangerous chemical ingredients often found in nail polish.
“Say Love” is especially stunning in the sunlight - all of those micro holographic glitters come alive and you can see the true cool-toned red beauty that makes up the majority of the color.
Under normal lighting, it’s not as exciting :P but it’s still a very gorgeous color and worth wearing if you’re a fan of cooler-toned reds with some extra glam.

The start of a journey!
Hello everyone!
My name is M and I have been wanting to start a blog like this for a long time. I don’t know how often I’ll be able to keep up with it, but the starting is the hardest part, right?
I want to document not only my nail’s health journey, but also I just really love nail polish and I love swatching nail polish. This is a great way for me to document my progress, show off some cool colors, and hopefully bond with some of you out there on the internet because my nails are not your typical long and slender appearance.
A little bit about me: I live with my partner. We have two cats and one dog. I have ADHD and I am also on the spectrum. My pronouns are they/she/he (or any, so long as you’re not rude), and I eat ice cream in winter because I’m kind of a monster. :)
I hope you’ll enjoy the content I post, and if you don’t, that’s okay too!
