I've recently had a situationship with an American and it made me realise just how bad my English actually is.

I mean I can read very well and write okay (with the help of auto correct) but like irl conversations are soooooo difficult!

I've spent years thinking I'm good at English only to get humbled by a florida man.

Yknow what, im incredibly sick right now and semi-high on pain killers and i have a not so hot take on the concept of 'basic favs' in fandoms.

Okok so in a fandom with multiple characters or ppl you'll often see them sorted into ' Popular but basic' 'less popular so it's good ' 'its just bad'.

Yknow what i mean? Let me give an example, let's go with Drag Race. The obvious popular queens are Trixie, Katya, Bianca, adore, etcetc and so if i say 'yeah t&k are my favs' i will immediately get called basic. But have you considered, that there's a reason why they're popular? It's bc they're funny, and good. And yes these things come down mostly to personal taste but you can't continue screaming OVERRATED on a thing that really is not,,,, it's rated high bc it's good. Ppl like it bc it's good, compelling and relateble

Im just so tired of yhe whole basic thing bc it means nothing. Just let ppl enjoy what they want.

i love reid as he is but imagine if he was a dude with an eidetic memory but of absolutely average level intelligence who has obscure knowledge about the most random things not because he can read thousand words per/min but because he keeps falling down research rabbit holes on the internet since studying doesn’t take up a lot of his time. most of the times he doesn’t even understand all the super science-y stuff but he remembers them exactly nonetheless even if he can’t make sense of it. he helps out in the BAU by sheer luck. he’ll drop a random trivia or something he read somewhere and be like “does that help? idrk :/” and the rest of the team are just standing there like aghast like. you literally solved the case. you watched us struggle with this for three days and you didn’t say anything? how the fuck do you even know this? and he’ll be like. one time i was riding the subway and i found an abandoned notebook and i was flipping through it because i didn’t have anything else to do and i was bored
