Old art share
Some much older traditional art this time, some from 2013 and earlier.
Prince With a Thousand Enemies actually nabbed me a Daily Deviation on Deviantart when that actually meant something.
Frith’s Blessing was a followup
The Black Rabbit of Inlé was modeled after my first rabbit Hoshi and was an ode to the story when the titular prince of rabbits joins his ghostly owsla. Hoshi died of e.cuniculi which is a parasitic infection all rabbits carry until it presents itself as a head tilt and neurological issues. So it’s kind of fitting that the prince went there to save his people from disease. This was painted before he presented any symptoms and he was a king amongst rabbits.
And El Ahrairah was a commission
#oh my gosh i remember some of these#pretty sure they were among op's pieces thay originally enticed me way back in my dA days#still just as captivated by them now as i was then#someone else's art

Old art share.
“Balefur’ and “Marlfox” from 2012
“The Long Patrol” sat unfinished until 2014
I miss Corel Painter 11 and 12, I have yet to find any digital pastel brushes or oils that match up.
I’m not part of any fandom, these were odes to the books I enjoyed as a kid despite the well discussed flaws regarding good and evil characterization, and I did get bored of the newer books past Rakkity Tam and Triss.
I did also for a short time as a child receive newsletters and goodies from the fanclub, but honestly none of it was great and getting mail was so difficult.
I would always skip over the feasts and fluff to get back to the villains, their chapters were so much more interesting.
#HOLY SHIT REDWALL???#had to scroll back and look at it again#because my first thought was “ooh official art I've never seen before?” and then#“WAIT THIS IS FAN ART??”#anyway#gorgeous#love them#someone else's art

edit: i wasn't expecting this to get many notes... there are some things i definitely would've done differently or expanded upon, maybe i will some time when i feel like it (yea, people can have hair on the areola... i've just never seen it for some reason .wtf)
but, most importantly, just have fun with drawing body hair :) it comes in so many different styles for so many people, just get silly with it! use refs!

You probably get asked this a lot, but how do you draw hands? Even when I'm tracing, they look so weird 🙃
I could probably go on and on and on about hands, but here are some key points I compiled! I LOVE drawing hands, and I never hesitate to use my own as a reference

easy caustic lighting fx in PS
step 1: use simple brush to paint blobs on transparent layer
step 2: select the shapes and invert selection:
step 3: fill the inverted selection on a new layer; I did this with grey fill on a new white base layer.
step 4: apply box blur for wrinkly water effect
step 5: duplicate the layer and offset the layer position, set blend mode to Difference <- important. Repeat for a total of 3 overlapping/offset layers
step 6: merge the layers, invert, and recolor as desired (the inversion is a needless step if you hit the right colors from the start or use appropriate blend modes but i prefer to do it like this)
step 7: transform to perspective and ready to incorporate in your pic!
for reference I'm rocking an old version of PS so there's probably better ways to do it in 2025 but you work with what you got :D

I remade an old ugly scar chart for my own enjoyment.
Blue is all the stuff from his backstory pre-the written story, green is from Part One, yellow is Part Two, and red is Part Three.
