The new Corey Feldman record was a fucking atrocious mess. I didn't know what the new tracks were, what the old tracks were supposed to be, any of it. I skim through this pile of crap and of course I find something nice like I always do from Corey. The tracks that appear to be new have some real funky King Crimson/Beefheart groove shit going on... Corey is still an outsider and us music fans should respect his vision. I was enthralled when I found the new tracks and I hope he continues to engage in experimental styles. Real freaky stuff.

This is not satire, none of my posts are satire. I get that shit way too often from you pricks. Grow a spine. Listen to the new Corey and let me know your thoughts.

The song "Lost In Art" off the Pere Ubu album The Art Of Walking is a sham. I hear the group used to do all sorts of trickster bullshit to expose people as frauds; setting up lame displays that people would look too deep into and try to make passionate, when really it was just them eating a sandwich or some rubbish. I love Pere Ubu but that song "Lost In Art" seems like a GOTCHA moment on their part, keep the tricks off the record Ubu, please. That being said the group is legendary and they are the kings of the New Wave. Long live David Thomas and the rest of those cats.

Footsteps In The Dark by the Isley Brothers has been sampled a hundred times but who did it the best? I think Ice Cube's "Good Day" (1992) is the most notable example, but I'm fond of Rodney O and Joe Cooley's use of the sample on "California Cruiser" (1993). Have a little fun, these are one year apart... Who made better use of the Isley Brothers sample? Maybe somebody did it better than both of these albums.

Maybe I am in the minority here but I'll be real: the first Fat Boys album is a hip-hop masterpiece (one of the greatest in the genre, period). However every release they had after their debut didn't even come close... they released so much filler and garbage.

There are a couple of salvageable tracks on the other records but they really fell off since their debut. Could it be that the Disco 3 was very *hungry* early in their career and then going gold made them slow down a bit? Also fuck me, all three of the Fat Boys were still in highschool when their debut went gold. Huge success story.

Thank you Kurtis Blow for helping these lads come into the spotlight. How about Larry Smith on the beats too? Larry Smith also produced Whodini's Escape album... Smith is a name for the hip-hop history books.

Shout-out Prince Markie Dee, Kool Rock-ski, and Buffy "the human beatbox" (godfather of beatboxing!). They never needed a studio to rock the house, they could do their whole performance on the street corner impeccably. Watch videos of the Fat Boys from the early 80s, Dee and Kool could finish each other's lines on FREESTYLES!! And the human beatbox supplying the beats consistently and on time. No other hip-hop group seemed to be that tight, then or now. True chemistry.

I would trade MF Doom's entire career for the first Fat Boys album; Doom would be fine with that.
