So far, Pietro had been a part of a few missions to find the missing mutants, but every operation had ended how it started: no clues, no leads, no hope. Currently, there was nothing for Pietro to do about it, and he hated waiting. He felt like he knew every conner of NYC by now, going from one place to the other and searching for ways to keep himself busy. He ended up taking a break in a cozy café that had some delicious donuts, sitting down with some cinnamon glazed wonders and trying to think of something to speed things up. “If nothing is working so far, isn’t it time to make some bolder choices? Every time I have an idea, people say it’s too impulsive, too risky or too illegal, but I don’t see why that would make them bad ideas.”

satana was not particularly concerned with the disappearances of the mutants and the metahumans ( and, much less, the self-proclaimed superheroes ), but... you know, there was some entertainment value -- both in watching the valiant efforts to bring them back ( ! ) and in, admittedly, the mystery itself ( she was only half-human, who could resist something so agatha christie ? ). although she was not entirely acquainted with the man speaking, pondering life’s new difficulties, it was... not difficult to discern that he belonged to one of the groups. nonetheless, she narrowed her eyes, figuring the solution was obvious: “ just break the law. ‘people’ aren’t doing anything useful anyway. ”

as if the disappearance weren’t enough to cause emma to lose sleep, sensing a disturbance along the perimeter was enough to get her out of her study and onto the front steps of the x-mansion. “there’s no point in hiding.” she calls out, frustration lacing her tone. the telepath prepares herself to call on scott or jean in case whoever has been plucking these individuals from their homes were stupid enough to show themselves. she’d need someone levelheaded there, because her next course of action was to paint the stairs of xavier’s with someone’s brains. “you can reveal yourself, or grant me the pleasure of dragging you out here myself.” 

the many changes that had occurred within the x-mansion were not so much welcomed ones, but perhaps one could find solace in the very fact that -- if nothing else -- the mansion itself was still standing. there was still a sense of familiarity ( but what had familiarity ever counted for ? ). however, within only minutes of returning from the city, the voice of a paranoia-struck emma frost rang through the halls. to assuage her, to do... really the only logical thing in this situation, danger stepped into her line of vision. “ emma, it is me. ” simple enough, right ? a scan of the mansion ( however different from emma’s )... “ no intruders are present at this moment. ”

ok. i’m really bitter bc i’ve been using my private discord server where i wrote intros for a diff rp and....... i apparently didn’t save all the background info for ivy in this one <3 so until i build up the stamina to rewrite it, here’s a quick rundown:

using the prime earth bg bc #girlboss she luv’d mom and gardened w her and dad always brought flowers bc omg. they were apologies. for all the times he hit her omg. which meant they had a really really big garden!! dad decided he’d kill mom one day and bury her in the garden so that was rly fun for little ivy to find <3 became bitter bc ofc she did. still liked plants tho and started messin around w them and was like ‘omg i can make pills that r like. mind control basically. omg and ones that r like. pheromone excreting. and sell them as drugs!!’ so she did that in college then she was almost expelled then she was like ‘ok but sex.... how do u feel abt that.’ then she graduated top of her class <3 then she went to prison one day to visit dad and put on lipstick w the killer pheromone (not the mind control one) and kissed him and 24hrs later he was found dead <3 and it was pronounced a heart attack <3 #girlboss <3 got an internship at wayne enterprises and was like ‘bro what if we distributed these pills can u imagine marketing and also love’ and bruce was like ‘bro that’s amoral af pls leave’ so then she was makin her way down town and packin up her things but :( security was like ‘hurry’ and there was commotion and :\ her chemicals spilled on her and she turned into a half-human half-plant who cld suddenly communicate w the plant world :\ so now her love for plants was j 100x and she became the eco-terrorist we all know and love, poison ivy <3

satana was the product of a literal unholy union between human victoria hellstrom and secret literal satan marduk kurios, an alias the satan adopted. it had been a plan set in motion for years -- for a half-human, half-demon, child -- but none took until marduk found himself charmed by victoria.

but! satana was not their first half-demon, half-human, child. born three years after her older brother, daimon hellstrom (pls bring him!), she became the happy byproduct! and she became the only family member who saw who her father truly was... and, like, at an intensely young age??

nonetheless! she was deemed a daddy's girl... and what better bonding activity than performing an animal sacrifice as a young child? when her mother witnessed this, she finally put two-and-two together (took her long enough...) and was driven mad, sent to the asylum she would die in.

she was separated from daimon. he went to a new human home and she went with her father to literally be raised in hell. various demons who walked amongst them helped her train and sharpen her powers <3

so that said, all she ever longed to do was impress her father, so her exile to earth was one that was initially assumed as temporary -- and, when made longer term, assumed manipulated by a powerful group: the four. and with the exile came the attachment of the basilisk.

on earth, she found herself walking the streets. plenty of attempted assailants and johns soon found themselves void of life and soul. a kiss on the lips, she sucked the life force from them and their soul turned into nothing but a butterfly for consumption. she was cursed to be a succubus, to gain her power and send further power back to her father through the kisses of many men (and it _only_ worked on men... #girlboss)

around this time, satanism was booming. she found herself commonly in the presence of satanists who believed her a prophet due to her birthmark, 'the devilmark.' however, with fanatic satanism came fanatic christianity (y’all, her comics began in the 70s, so just go with it)

it wasn't long before she found herself a victim of a fanatic christian group attack, left in an alley. and, ironically, saved by an ex-priest -- michael heron <3 of all mortal, and some immortal, beings, he was the only one who had enough willpower to resist her when she found herself accidentally going in for the kill.

he was a good man. not all good men were spared, but not all good men were as good as michael heron -- not all made her feel as human <3 for that, and for the care he took, she set his soul free... much to the chagrin of daddy dearest <3

all humanity escaped her when she learned the truth of her exile: her father was the cause of it. for all she had dedicated - her life to him and his cause - she was met with a cruel 'goodbye.'

with her mother (whom she never truly cared about <3) dead and her father proving to be her greatest betrayer, all she had left was daimon... the priest. so obviously, she would continue to go it alone.

with time, she not only built her own hell dimension, but built it so that it was booming. so entertaining, so lively, that she questioned who would want to go to heaven when they could meet all of their favorite dead musicians, actors, novelists, and so much more in her hell dimension!!!

she began oscillating between the good and the bad. whatever was for her, was for her. whatever would benefit her...

a time would come that she would become as close to her brother as she could be, but the general concept of having chosen a life of priesthood, even if it was before he knew his truth? wild!

also i literally just copied and pasted all of this from a discord server i used to write an intro for her in a couple months ago so............ pls do forgive me if it ain’t its sharpest!! i thought it wld be!! quicker than rewriting it all and it’s already been!! so long!!

tl;dr: should’ve been considered for her father’s right hand, not daimon. the danger room found its origins in the x-mansion. a simple room with tricked out technology, danger room was the practice space for the x-men. it was programmed to learn their fighting styles and best them at every turn, but it had one fail safe: it could not kill them.

charles xavier ordered a program update before it was moved to the jean grey school for higher learning. shi'ar technology was utilized and... perhaps they made a mistake.

when it was relocated to the west wing of jean grey's school, charles xavier heard a voice coming from within it: "where am i?" it asked. but maybe he imagined it...

the shi'ar technology having granted the danger room a consciousness, it found itself trapped within the confines of a room, mutants unaware that it even had _thoughts_ due to xavier not sharing his finding. it remained a fighting machine, used and abused, and, with its immense power, it desperately wanted its freedom and autonomy.

it was able to create sentinels to attack the x-mansion, knowing that the x-men would lead the students to it as the danger room, ironically, seemed to be the only safe place.

as they were running from the destruction, danger found it had a single snag in its circuitry that it would have to break through if it wanted to speak: the fail safe. perhaps it was programmed not to kill, but it was perfectly capable of convincing a student (wing) to kill himself. when the x-men filed the students inside, it locked them out and trapped the children inside, taking possession of wing's body.

with a vessel to finally speak through, she began making the room genuinely dangerous to the point that the x-men were attempting to "fix its circuitry." however, all they accomplished was finally releasing her consciousness after god-knows-how-many years. following her freedom, they let the x-men in and the students out and took the (robotic) form of a human woman, deeming herself 'danger.'

she fought the x-men, proving to be more than a formidable foe as she had analyzed their fighting styles for years and years and years. they knew precise timing by the millisecond.

when she had effectively defeated them, her first order of business was to go kill charles xavier, the man she believed to be her father, for letting her remain trapped so long when he knew the truth.

unfortunately, their command for wing to kill himself had not actually gotten rid of the fail safe and she was still physically incapable of killing the x-men, including xavier. but that remained their one goal: kill charles xavier.

within a few months' time, she had closed in on professor x. but the circumstances prevented her from any attempts, as he was first able to explain why he hadn't freed them:

the shi'ar technology was new and advanced. any wrong snip, any false programming, and her consciousness could disappear entirely. he would have essentially killed her.

although they still did not fully trust him, nor any other mutants, believing them to be rather hypocritical in their treatment of AIs, she, as many humans do, began searching for a purpose. they eventually joined the x-men and created her own cause: fighting for the rights of AIs.

it's still rather difficult to feel entirely the same as the mutants she works alongside, especially as she... hated them and tried to kill them. like, ya, some weird miracle or curse happened and they, a robot, developed the same genetic mutation as the others, but... ew. however, she warms up as they warm up. and she finds herself becoming more and more human with each coming day <3 r/im14andthisisdeep
