The first time Dani has destabilized, Ecto-Dejecto had seemed like a perfect cure.
Then she destabilized again. And the Ecto-Dejecto did still work, but Danny began to worry about what this meant for her future. Would they need to make sure to prepare periodic doses for her?
Then she destabilized a third time. It was a bit sooner than the last time, but still, no big deal! The Ecto-Dejecto worked. It would be fine, even if he needed to stockpile a bit more than his original estimates.
Then it happened again.
And again.
And again.
And a worrying trend began to emerge. Each time, it was a little harder to bring her back. Each time, the period of stability grew even shorter.
They were fighting a losing battle. Soon enough, the Ecto-Dejecto would no longer be enough to stabilize Dani, and she would die.
But they wouldn’t—couldn’t—accept that. So they began to search for possible solutions.
Yet no matter where any of them looked, every avenue turned up blank. Not even the ghost doctors they consulted (barged into the homes of) could offer up any real advice. Dani’s existence was just too unique.
They grew desperate.
Then they had an idea. Not a solution, but a stopgap. If they could freeze Dani, it might be enough to keep her stable until they had a solution.
Unfortunately, though Danny does have ice powers, he doesn’t have the necessary expertise to turn that into cryonics.
However, he has heard of someone who just might be able to help.
A man from Gotham City by the name of Victor Fries. A true pioneer in cryogenic technology.
…and also a criminal confined to Arkham Asylum, but Danny can look past that. He’s worked with worse people before.

Okay, so, redo of this comic I made in 2022, which uses a joke heavily inspired by something written in a fic by @five-rivers, while imitating @letswonderspirit’s style (well, his 2022 style).
I feel like I’m just smashing things together at this point.
Also happy birthday, dude!
(I guess this could also fit the Ectober rise prompt, cause I’ve improved and rose up in skill since last time I did this comic, but that’s pushing it.)

"It said it was lucky."
Things That Bleed by @kkachis @artistfingers and @ghostly-cabbage
This is the fastest I've ever drawn a scene illustration. The words were visceral.
(i got a sneak peak of the end of this chapter, and only the end of this chapter (looks at signature date stamp) 2 years ago, and reading the Context for the scene now makes me feel Extremely Normal. I have been using the meme illustration of this scene as my phone's lockscreen for 2 years. It has been living rent free in my head for a Very Long Time. If I think about the addendums and the Danny Lore too long, i shall combust)
also, i wanted a print of this for myself, so i put it up on inprnt. if anyone else wants one you can find it here

Tim can't fucking believe this. He's been thrown into an alternate dimension. Of course this would happen literally at the beginning of a huge fight to decide the fate of the Earth.
There's a local hero, Phantom, who he landed on when he fell into this strange dimension, is helping him get back.
But it's hard.
The dimension he's in is full of floating islands, floating doors, and monsters he's never seen before.
Four days in, though, and he's starting to get suspicious.
Is Phantom really trying to help him?
~~~~~~
Danny has been tasked with playing along with a recently deceased hero to prevent him from getting into any actual trouble, and maybe help the guy come to terms with the fact that he's dead.
The best way to do this, he thinks, is to be friendly and gain his trust, and then take him on a trip around the Ghost Zone so he can see other ghosts, and slowly draw his own conclusions from there.
That way he doesn't mentally stress out the other hero, and the guy gets to accept his death on his own terms.
But he may have underestimated how paranoid Red Robin is.
I do think that the batfam member closest to truly being Danny's counterpart in an alt-universe sort of way is Tim. Both are guys on the shorter end of the spectrum, both have parents in academia (Danny's parents in esoteric science while Tim's are archeologists.) Both want to avoid becoming a hypothetical evil apocalyptic future version of themselves. Both struggle with maintaining balance and have to develop a hyper-independance during their teen years due to their superhero careers. You see what I mean?
The people worshipping Ghost King Danny have a religious schism over His nature, like how Christianity has had those in its past.
“Phantom is half ghost and half human! It’s literally in the name! He’s a halfa!”
“How dare you insult our Lord so! He is not half of anything! Phantom is both fully human and fully ghost simultaneously, entirely encompassing both domains!”
“Heresy! Phantom is bound by neither the limits of humans nor ghosts, he is solely divine! It is through being outside the realms of life and death that he is able to ascend above!”
“Actually, I believe Phantom and Danny were fully separate beings, each sharing in His divinity but only singularly human or ghost—”
*sounds of violent scholarly argument continue to rapidly increase*
