silly Girl Out of Time stuff

“Well of course there’s the basic power set that almost the entire species has, y’know, flight, invisibility, intangibility, being able to sense when another one of our species is near, enchanted strength and hearing, an incredibly fast healing factor to anything injuries not made by our own species or specifically made to harm us, being able to speak and understand ghost speak and any other dead languages, not needing to breathe and in most cases (but not mine) this applies to most other human needs. And then there are the more unique powers which I have and (depending on the power) others have too, like being able to withstand sub-zero temperatures, ectoblasts, ice, telekinesis, ghostly wail, being able to open portals to the infinite realms, basic shapeshifting or at least being able to change my body proportions and bones- you look scared, do, do you want me to keep going?”

“”

“What?”

“Dude, that is like, Kryptonian levels of power.”

“More actually, we did a test.”

“You’ve fought Superman?!”

“There was a brief incident with Pariah Dark. Superman lost the incident.”

“But you said that Pariah Dark was the ghost king so that isn’t fair for the entire species let alone you right, you said you were the equivalent of a newborn in age standards.”

“I beat Pariah Dark.”

“You are a scary level of powerful.”

A small diatribe on why I personally don’t ship Anger Management (Jazz x Jason).

(Quick note, this is not an attack or an attempt to dissuade those who do like this ship. It also doesn’t really take into accounts changes made to either character for fic’s sake. These are just a couple of thoughts I felt like writing down. If you have a counter argument, I’d love to hear it, but just know that this isn’t personal, it’s just business)

Look,

Don’t get me wrong, I see the appeal, there’d definitely be an attraction there considering they’re both each other’s physical types. Jazz would start psychoanalyzing some poor shmuck and Jason’s competency kink would go wild. And Jazz? She would want study our man Jason like a bug. She finds out that he’s not only hot and crazy, but academically inclined as well? She’s going down like the twin towers baby, look out below.

There are just a couple of problems. You’re left with is a relationship where both parties feel the need to act as the other’s “caretaker” while simultaneously despising that same care/concern when it’s offered back. Jason hates being questioned on his mental health, let alone be constantly offered tips and advice or being nagged for not doing what he “aught to” for his own good. Jazz hates feeling like she’s helpless. (A lot of fics have her where she’s no longer so clumsy and danger prone but a total bad ass. This, weirdly, seems to me like it would make for a much more functional relationship). They’re both very fond of voicing these negative emotions while both having good-enough reasons for their behavior that their individual hard headedness make real change neigh to impossible.

The most likely outcome in my head is that they start dating, then at month three they start fighting, then Jason starts becoming avoidant due to his past associations with fraught relationships, they try to make it work, apologize for their individual sins, get in another month before the cycle restarts, then Jazz realizes what’s going on and that they’re simply not good for each other in the long run and breaks up with Jason on good terms by month six.

No shade to anyone who just wants to write Danny in a loving bat-family dynamic and needs a quick explanation why Jason isn’t still mad at Batman, but if you’re like me and Love Angst you may be interested to know that Talia’s character didn’t start out evil!

Up until she got Lazarus pit torture-hypnotized by her sister (in an elaborate scheme by Ra’s to get his daughters to align with him) Talia was good, and one of Jason’s most important allies. The reason Talia dropped Jason in the Lazarus pit was because Ra’s got impatient and told her he was going to send Jason away “somewhere he would be taken care of”.

Was anyone going to tell me that Damian Wayne has a CANONICAL biological brother (basically the same age!!) with WHITE HAIR and GREEN EYES who was tortured by Ras and Talia, or was I just supposed to find that out myself????

(He’s from the Robin (2021) comic run and first (?) showed up during the Lazarus games. He’s the clone-baby of Talia and Slade Wilson (death stroke). The Al-Ghuls never gave him a name, and basically only kept him around as spare parts for Dami :(. He calls himself Respawn and I already love him.)

Dont think about how Damian and Respawn never got to be brothers :) don’t think about how Mara was pitted against her cousin from birth and neither her nor Damian could just be kids :)) Dont think about how Talia kept a son from both Bruce and Slade, who are known to love their children to the point of destruction :))) Don’t think about how Mara only ever wanted to be recognized as being worth something, how Damian only wanted to belong, or how Respawn only wanted to be loved. :)))) Don’t think about how this means that Ra’s Al-Ghul had three children he broke like they were nothing at all. :)))))

Map of Amity Park

So I did a bunch of research and traced over the map the GIW had in DCMH and extended it to try and build a map of Amity Park. I also paid close attention to locations and places named in canon. I am by no means an artist, map maker, photoshop pro, or civil engineer; I just wanted a general reference map for the phandom to use. 

Here is where I place Amity Park. We know AP isn’t in Michigan or Wisconsin, but is most likely a day drive away from Madison (Bitter Reunions). AP is a decent sized city of itself, so I can see it being an outskirt of a large city like Chicago. Lancer mentions the Northwestern Testing, and Northwestern University is in Evanston, IL, which is why I placed it where it is.

more danny phantom stuff

i actually started watching the show, its silly good fun! tried to draw closer to the show's style this time

When Danny enters the Fenton portal for the very first time, he still trips and shocks himself but at the same time damages the inside of the portal enough that it can’t sustain itself past the point of changing Danny’s molecules.

The electricity and damage done to both Danny and the portal isn’t something Danny, Sam, and Tucker can cover up and his parents find out immediately. They’re more concerned about their son then the portal (they have the blueprints for the portal and can rebuild it later but can’t replace their son if something happened to him) and go through a lot of things emotions regarding the existence of ghost human hybrids.

Danny’s new biology could easily be passed as meta human traits. Unfortunately President Lex Luther had just recently passed laws against meta humans. Meaning they can’t risk people find out about Danny’s new powers, at all. The Fentons decide that Danny should live with one of Maddie or Jacks relatives off grid until he can control his new abilities better.

luckily Jacks sister, Martha, and her husband have experience with a super powered child and after their son moved to the city could probably use a hand on their farm. All Jack needed to do was call.

I think Dan's gonna be a cynical guy when he's psychologically stable

Maybe it's because he's been through a 10-year trial

I can imagine that when Dani meets Dan, she'll be confused whether he's Vlad or Danny

I love how A Glitch In Time not only retconned Danny telling everyone his secret, but also entirely overwrote the plot line in Phantom Planet where Danny decides he no longer wants to be part ghost after other ghost hunters show up and leave less work for him to do. Not only did Danny discover a new sense of purpose in being part ghost, but he literally chose the timeline where he stays part ghost over the one where he doesn't because being the bridge between worlds is now that important to him. I'm honestly in awe that A Glitch In Time is real.

The thing about A Glitch In Time is that it's exceptionally good in a way that's hard to explain to people who haven't spent several years or more hyperfixated on a kid's cartoon from 2004
