This Mama Leaf took 5 months to grow her Baby!! After 1 month she had nice roots. But no Baby. So I waited After 2 months she had longer roots but no Baby. So I waited. After 4 months she had very long roots but no Baby. So I waited. After 5 months she finally popped out a Baby! This Baby has been in soggy soil for a month. He is growing very quickly. His Mama Leaf fell off last week (on her own). I started using the 1” mini aluminum cupcake liners for my Babies in soggy soil. They work great. And it’s super easy to move them into a bigger home in a couple months. I love them. (And they are cheap). I water him every day with a plastic 3 ml plastic pipette. Don’t separate your Mama Leaf & Her Baby! I’ve gotten a couple of messages this week from people who ripped off the Mama Leaf after they saw this wrong advice on Instagram. “I wanted to take a photo and the Mama Leaf didn’t look great so I took her off the Baby but now the Baby is dying.” “Someone on Instagram said I should separate them if I propagated a certain way. But now the Baby is rotting. Can I save the Baby? This is a photo update of this Baby and Mama I posted a few weeks ago. See the Mama Leaf is starting to dry up? I will never force them to separate. This photo says, “I’m an expert propagating. This drying Mama Leaf is a healthy normal part of the process” Do not separate your Mama Leaf and her Baby! It doesn’t matter if you propagated in air, soil, mister soil, or water. Don’t rip them apart. Why? - Mama & Baby know when the time is right. Trust them. - Mama Leaf is still feeding their Baby even when she looks dried up. - Ripping Mama Leaf & Baby apart can rip off those leaves and roots you’ve watched growing. - You could rip the Baby apart. - Mother Nature knows when it’s time. Women give birth at the right time. Mama Leaves know when it’s time to fall away. Let Mother Nature take her course. Mother Nature, Mama Leaf and Baby know best. Let them decide. They will separate when the time is right for them. If you have separated the Mama Leaf and Baby and now your Baby is dying.....there is nothing to do. You can hope but I would plop a new Mama Leaf into water if you want to grow a new plant. Don’t rip apart Mama Leaf and her Baby. They will separate when the time is right for them. People who propagate will know you are a real expert if your photo has a shriveling Mama Leaf. Did you know Raindrop Succulent Baby Plants grow bumps so soon?? Has this happened for you? Please let me know. I’m super excited!! This Mama Leaf took forever to grow roots and her Baby (almost 4 months!). I moved the Mama Leaf and Baby to soggy soil last month. This morning I saw the Raindrop Bump!! Oh my! My Raindrop Mama Leaf’s tiny Baby has BUMPS!!! I used a filter on the top photo so you can see the bump easier. I gave the big plant away and kept a leaf to water propagate. I’m super excited! I’m a horrible plant lady. 🤗 But bad things usually come with good - I was stuck in bed BUT the good news? It’s C-SECTION TIME !!! 🤗 A lot of my Mama Leaves have grown enormous Babies ! Confession Time: Okay. Time to confess my sins as a horrible plant lady. As I shared before I have MS (multiple sclerosis). #MSsucks It knocked me right into bed for a long time. I’ve missed you all so much - it’s great to be back with everyone. I’m doing better every day. Now for my confession: A lot of my Mama Leaves and Cuttings were in their water for a VERY LONG TIME! Too long. I’m a horrible plant lady. 🤗 But bad things usually come with good - I was stuck in bed BUT the good news? It’s C-SECTION TIME !!! 🤗 A lot of my Mama Leaves have grown enormous Babies ! Some have gotten too big and now they need to be cut out ! #succulentCsectionTime !! It’s a great reminder of how great a Mama Leaf is - she will keep giving even when it looks like she is a month past dead. So my advice always - Don’t rip your Baby & Mama Leaf apart. Let the Mama Leaf feed her Baby until she falls off on her own. She knows best. And don’t worry if you leave your Mama Leaf in the water for too long. The worst case is a glass cutter and a glass jar full of a strange weird bumpy Baby that makes me soooo happy. I will begin posting my now, a little famous (??) c-section Photos & videos this week.
