The first chapter of my new MDZS fanfic is up! It's going to be two chapters total.

I was inspired to write this fanfic after considering how things would have gone down if Lan Wangji had been impulsive and kissed Wei Wuxian in the Xuanwu of Slaughter cave. He was impulsive on Phoneix Mountain, so why not give him a narrative push earlier on during the Xuanwu saga?

Also shout-out to Mianmian, a most helpful plot device in moving these two idiots toward figuring out they are into each other.

MXTX Fanfic Goals

(**SPOILERS for TGCF and MDZS below; avoid this post if that's an issue.)

I finished my Wen Kexing drawing and in terms of creative projects I am probably going to focus on writing for the rest of this year. I want to organize my thoughts, so here's a list of MXTX fanfics I'm currently working on:

MDZS - What if/Canon divergence scenario based on the idea: What if Lan Wangji's impulsive kiss (that happened at the Phoenix Mountain hunt) happened earlier during the Xuanwu of Slaughter arc? While WWX and LWJ discuss flirting and feelings. A love confession scenario.

TGCF - A hurt/comfort/pining fic taking place during the one year that Hua Cheng has disappeared at the end of the story. Xie Lian decides to visit Ghost City and reminisces about his time with HC.

And here are ideas I've come up with but haven't started:

TGCF - What if/Canon divergence scenario where Xie Lian and Hua Cheng are riding in HC's ghost litter and XL calls HC out on his game of proposal/gay chicken ("Gege, want to get married?"). It wasn't a joke, Hua Cheng! Want to try to write as in-character as possible.

MDZS - Post-canon Wen Ning and Lan Sizhui shenanigans, and Wen clan bonding/angst. That's as far as the idea has gotten.

MDZS - Fic taking place during WWX's 13-year absence/death where Lan Wangji is raising/teaching Lan Sizhui. It'll either focus on LSZ noticing LWJ's grief (for WWX) or LWJ teaching LSZ life lessons that are based on LWJ not wanting LSZ to make the same mistakes as LWJ did in his relationship with WWX. Obviously an angst fic, with LWJ father-figure fluff. Maybe I'll throw in some Lan Qiren father-figure fluff too, for good measure.

Most of these would be one-shots, but maybe some would end up being longer.

Now the question is which one should I work on/focus on right now?? God help me, trying to rein my focus in. If I can finish one of these by the end of this year that would be a wonderful achievement for me.
