Something I have noticed about this man is that his way of expressing himself is through art. The fantastic music he writes is just the beginning of it. He couldn't go a day without blowing my mind, whether that be through teaching me to read the fancy papers I always skimmed through as a boy, or playing me a song on that funny guitar of his, or even going on rambles and rambles bout' the history of his music and the folks who created it. Crazy stories if you ask me, but I always grew up kinda stupid, best to learn from it. Sometimes I can't even help it, I find myself memorizing these crazy things in my head when I walk down the big streets of Saint Denis, and knowing this and that when i read the long, boring paper. I'm still a boy, I never thought I'd be learning all this at such a time in my life. Something also tells me, this is just the right time. Meeting him and learnin about his life from head to toe, he never skips a beat when he tells me the ins and outs and ups and downs of the gossip he hears on the way to the saloon, or the folks he's heard sneakin' around in even the smallest alleyways. This man is a book and a half waitin' to be read, and I'm destined to get involved

Today was rather interesting. Went down to the saloon to get me a drink, some drunken bastard picked a fight with me. I'm a rather scrawny fella', I don't see no reason why some brawny hunk would be lookin' to brawl with me. He insisted we take it outside but somethin' in me said otherwise. No gunslinger I know lacks courtesy like that feller did.
Once I settled back into my camp I figured I could do some reading. I ain't no book writin' wonder but learning to write is something I've always found fascinating as a boy. Reading the back of cigarette cards my Pa used to give me was like an excitement I never could seem to feel again. I wonder if he likes writing. That'd be darn sweet if I bought him one of those fancy new books, with the hard wood covers. I suppose we'll see. I don't think he'd be fond too of a reading date, doesn't sound to appealin' to me either. Maybe I can take him down to the big city and go shopping. Stuff down there is mighty expensive, suppose it's the quality of life they're charging for.
I plan on riding up by his cabin, just to make sure he's okay. Still alive, at the very least. Outlaws are notorious for murdering handsome folk. Dishonorable, if you ask me. Sure, I'm biased. But seekin' revenge isn't a skill I intend to train. I'd give my heart and soul to this man. Even if it means dying to a dirty hired gun. Speakin of it, maybe a rifle would be a good investment.

Today he's coming back! I reckon it'll take him awhile to get settled in, I can't help buy pray that it'll only take a day or so. The way he hugs me after a long week of being apart is like nothin else in this world. Warm and cozy, like a fireplace maybe. But the butterflies in my chest, only possible when he's around.
I rode down to the general store and picked out something the tourist folk call a "souvenir". It looks more like a fancy stick but I'm sure he'll fancy 'nother oddity lying around his home.
I plan to take him on a trip down to the cinema, one of the big-n-fancy ones you see the richer folk visiting. They're showin' a whole bunch of screenings, s'what I've heard. I'm getting giddy just thinkin 'bout it.
