"i don't comment on ao3 because i don't wanna be annoying or weird" you greatly underestimate the power dynamic here, writing multi paragraph comments is like feeding a bunch of deeply insane and possibly starved ducks at the park and watch them go completely mad over having received a piece of bread

idk thinking about how sometimes you have to show up for people you aren't that close to, because sometimes you're just the person who's there. sometimes you invite a new friend to a party and end up having to sit with them through a panic attack. sometimes you run into an acquaintance on their worst day and they need to talk about what happened. sometimes someone is crying in a stairwell and you're the only one around to ask if they're okay. and none of this is "trauma dumping" or whatever the fuck it's just being there for people because you're the one in the room with them.

i'm tryna get back into fandom and fic writing

it's been a very long time since i've been involved with fandom culture or even really been active on any form of social media and i've really been through it lads

last april i had a grand mal seizure. it was so severe i bit down the length of my tongue so badly i was on a liquid diet, and i still don't remember the moments before i seized or how i got to the hospital

i work at a cinema, and my shift ended just as a film my sister and nephews were watching had ended

we walked into town to get lunch, but first stopped to get a birthday present for my friends sons

i told my sister i felt dizzy, and was struggling to see, she suggested i was dehydrated and encouraged me to pick up a drink

the next thing i know i was sat on a folding chair and an employee was trying to talk to me, there was blood everywhere and my mum was there

and then my dad came in with a security guard and they carried me out to my dad's car parked in the bus station??? and then i was in the hospital????

i could only afford to be off work for 2 weeks. so basically as soon as i could talk without it hurting i was back at work (i worked at a call center at the time)

the EEG was normal. the MRI was normal. no one knows what caused the seizure.

I'm on a waiting list to see a specialist regarding my sinuses. I've always struggled with allergies and chronic sinus infections. One theory is that sinus pressure caused the seizure. i wake up every day feeling like ive got the flu, and sometimes i'm so snotty i go through more than a whole roll of toilet tissue a day (which is expensive af)

I also have chronic back pain which i originally thought was from the seizure/fall. I went through a round of PT but it did nothing. I then thought it was a side effect of my PCOS, so i spoke to a nurse on my next contraceptive review.

I was told to see a doctor. The doctor did a FIT test. I'm now on a waiting list to be screened for colon cancer. It could be something like crohns or polyps, but they need to rule out cancer first

meanwhile my anxiety and depression got worse, i was put on a stronger antidepressant and went through another round of counselling

ultimately left my full time call center job because i couldn't cope and it was destroying me mentally

i'm now financially unstable with just the part time cinema job to support myself

oh, i also have anemia and am deficient in vit D, iron and folic acid. I can't take painkillers stronger than paracetamol because they set off my asthma, and i'm on 11 tablets a day, plus my inhaler
