PIN AND COINY FULL TEXT ANALYSIS POST FOR BFDIA 19!!!

spoilers obviously, look under cut

I'm afraid I took like no photos, so I'll just try to describe things...

We start with Coiny sitting in the lighthouse, which makes us think he's dealing with Pin's lashout last ep, which obviously gets me interested

JUST FOR THEM TO HAVE HIM PRETEND NOTHING HAPPENED.

If you ask me, Coiny's also dealing with shit right now, but he's dealing with it differently. Unlike Pin, who's being harsh and trying to hold on to safety (because she DOESNT THINK ANYONE WILL EVER CARE FOR HER ENOUGH TO SAVE HER)

He handles it with a smile. Pretend nothing happened, and people will stop remembering, right? Let Pin get over whatever shes going thru, and he'll wait.

What else can he do? Confront her?

Just wait, do your best, and everything will be alright...

But Pin... oh my sweet PinPin...

She's SO, SO desperate for approval... but she subconsciously hates what she's doing...

But what else can she do? Be good, and risk still being tortured like she was before?

She NEEDS to be strong. Everything she's gone through proves nobody likes her (THATS NOT TRUE I LOVE YOU) so she needs to stay strong. It doesn't matter of its awful. The outcome will be the same in the end anyway.

For a quick summary, Coiny pretends nothing happened because he wants it to be that way. He wants to change this outcome, to have his best friend back, but she keeps distancing herself.

Pin continues acting the way she does because she thinks the outcome CANT be changed. She just has to make sure no one can hurt her ever again, even if that means distancing herself from everyone who ever pretended they loved her.

*neck snaps* is that an excuse to talk about my favorite character of all time I hear!?

Pin, Pin, Pin, Pin, Pin, Pin. How the mighty have fallen.

This gets to be a little complex, so I’m going to start at BFDI, where everything began.

A thing I noticed from even the first episode is that Pin isn’t very observant, like, at all. She doesn’t seem to be purposefully mean, she just does what she wants even if people get mad.

She seems especially oblivious to the other objects’ opinions of her. Despite being the leader, and very confident in her abilities, the others are happy when she gets out, and Pin is hurt. This, I feel, leads into her realizing that no one really likes her. She’s been pushing people away, and hasn’t been a true leader, and she wants to be a good leader, even if she doesn’t seem to look like it.

So BFDIA happens, and Team No-Name immediately kick her out. While this does lead to her meeting Coiny and becoming best friends, this still does affect her.

We see again how she doesn’t really think of the consequences of her actions with how she accidentally stabs Puffball Speaker Box. While she was trying to kill Leafy, she doesn’t really understand why Puffball took her limbs, and she begins to feel betrayed.

Like she’s doing something wrong.

It must have gotten even worse when she lost her face. I think she was still conscious, so she was just feeling alone. Her team ignored her and mocked her, and her best friend called her useless. Despite the care Coiny gave to her later when she shrunk, there’s another important piece of her personality.

Pin’s a fighter, and someone who isn’t very optimistic. She doesn’t see what she’s doing wrong, how her actions lead to people disliking her. She wants to do something about it, so when she gets her mech suit, she wants revenge.

But it’s not enough.

Everything still does affect her. She isn’t happy with just BFDIA 14, she needs to win. She needs to show them that she hasn’t forgotten what she did.

But she keeps losing people. And the team that was built from the ground up, from just Coiny, Pin, and Donut, was now nothing, which coalesced into the disbandment of Woah Bunch.

There was one last thing Pin did that I haven’t seen most people notice. She’s sad, she wants to find a way to keep working with Coiny, but he leaves her immediately. This is the true last straw. In Pin’s mind, this proves everything right. No one truly cares for her, so she has to fight on her own, because she can trust nobody.

She has to win to prove everyone wrong.

And so she pushes away those who cared about her, because she doesn't think they’re worthy, and on a deeper level, doesn’t think she’s worthy. She wasn’t able to lead, not even be a true friend. So she just fights for herself and no one else, since there’s no other option.

what do you think about X?? ^^_^^

I have been procrastinating for so long for this one, as I feel 4 and X can be pretty random and hard to analyze, but my 7 followers need me!

X, X, little X-y. The beloved co-host to Four’s sadistic tendencies, and even called the favorite host by the TPOT-ers… before Two became nice

X obviously debuts in “X Finds Out His Value” and gets 4’s help to find out his value, which turns out to be 7. Not much to say here, other than that it lays a pretty good foundation for what would come later in BFDI.

X properly shows up as we know him in BFB, to kind of serve as Four’s co-host and as his reverse, showing more kindness to the contestants, but still having the characteristic chaos of the Algebraliens that we knew of the time, driven home by the the fact they didn’t have a set asset.

They serve to help Four with challenges, clearly being good friends with them, although their relationship doesn’t seem to be that good in pre-split. When the split happens, he first decides to stay with Two before being stolen back by Four as the first challenge of Battle for BFB.

With this in mind, I’m going to take a quick detour to 4x because it can be pretty important with how close the characters are. 4x can DEFINITELY be toxic at times. Four isn’t really great at showing his affection at first despite how long they know each other and X can be kind of fickle. Although they mourn 4 during the finale of BFB, other times they don’t quite seem interested.

That’s not to say they don’t work well together. Despite Four not showing it well, they DO care, as a fact. X, like I said, does miss Four when he “leaves” (I don’t really know how to decide what happened” and literally does not know what to do when Four is multiplied into oblivion in pre-split. They’re an interesting duo.

Back to the topic I was actually asked to write about, I really like seeing how X progresses. At first, to me he was more boring then Four: silly and kind of cute, but not much else. BFB in general was never my favorite season, so that also makes my opinion complicated. So at first, my thoughts on X were generally negative.

But what’s really interesting is seeing how X grows more confident with time. At first, despite being an algebralien like Four, they don’t seem to have any powers. However, we see the little things he and Four do together as Four trains him, with X being a lot more powerful and seemingly more confident then when we first met him, which honestly made me think a lot higher of him.

One more thing that makes me like X a little more now is how the writers managed to keep him somewhat consistent, which has always been a problem for me when it comes to Four and even Two in the earliest episodes of TPOT. He’s always been a little silly, a little sadistic, and someone who cares but also has their own opinions and thoughts.

Final summary, X confuses me but he’s been climbing up the ladder, and I’d like to see more of him in TPOT, maybe even in a potential season 6. They’re pretty cool overall.

Hurrah, the Regal himself! I had so much fun drawing him, though i had to color pick FAR to much

So, Silver Spoon. He was introduced in “Stranded in Paradise” and made it to the finale, but ended up getting 3rd with 2 jury votes. He won two Immunity Cookies, and was on the Thinkers before being moved to the New Pinkers.

I’ll admit: like all the Final Three, I didn’t originally like him that much. That’s a thing I liked about II: I usually wasn’t sold on the finalists but over time I grew to really like him, and that’s where I went with Silver Spoon. So, let’s talk!

I noticed pretty quickly he was being set up for an arc, and I fell for it hook, line and sinker (no pun intended). I didn’t really like how he interacted with other characters, especially Paintbrush and Candle, and I wasn’t super confident that’d be turned around.

Now I’m not saying he didn’t have his funny moments: the amount of times I laughed at his wiki page while researching is a testament to that. But it’s pretty clear that in the beginning of the season, he was a bratty, pretentious guy who saw himself as better than everyone and therefore had no obligation to be GOOD to others.

But he had an arc! And I really liked it.

I absolutely loved how his relationship with Candle and then Paintbrush shaped his character, but ESECIALLY so with Candle. I really loved her patience and how Silver’s opinion went from disliking her to respecting her (and maybe romantic? Idk SilverCandle isn’t smtg I’m entirely certain about)

The Inner Flame plot line got a little convoluted for my little pea brain, but it was still really interesting to see this side of Silver and how it was a result of what he’d learned in his time with Painty and Candle.

His character interactions definitely got better with time. I’ve mentioned Paintbrush and Candle enough already, so what about the others? There’s too many to properly list but some of my favorites are with Cabby and Yin-Yang. I really loved seeing Silver and Cabby rebound and figure things out, and although I was rooting for Cabby in the finale I was rooting for an acknowledgement: the end of an arc, and how Silver Spoon has grown and changed.

I grew to love him, becoming one of my top 5 as I lost my favorites (Test Tube, Clover) and I really was proud to see him use his Inner Flame one last time to save Mephone4, and especially, ESPECIALLY, when he knows he didn’t win. It was so undeniably Silver Spoon of him, but also accepting, like he knew this was coming. God, I’m proud of him.

You’re pretty cool, Silver Spoon. Can’t wait to (hopefully!) see you again.
