One of the weird fun writing quirks in Fifty Shades is that every character has a couple traits that are used so constantly they become almost metonymies for that character - Christian Grey’s “gray gaze” and “long fingers,” Ana’s roommate’s tenacity. They’re so repetitive it crosses a line into feeling like epic poetry. The wine dark sea, bright eyed Athena, rosy fingered dawn, Christian’s long finger. You know, to help the oral storyteller remember what to say next.

The Sacred Sins of Father Black + Character Names
This book has been bouncing around my head for the past week or so and made me go out in the pouring rain to get my grubby little heathen hands on a copy of the Bible from the nearest bookstore to further understand Christian theology. Therefore, I’d like to get some of my thoughts out here. I’ll start with names here and talk about the chapters and themes in a different post once I’ve gathered more information since this post is already quite long.

After finishing What Manner of Man I got my hands on @stjohnstarling's other book, The Sacred Sins of Father Black, and then was unable to put it down despite having things I should be doing.
Anyway there's no vampires, but there are enough similarities that I think anyone who liked What Manner of Man should give The Sacred Sins of Father Black a read.

Oh, Cult of the Lamb is adding sex. Good time to remember that I named cultists after Father Ardelian and Lord Vane. Let's see if I can get their cultist versions to fuck when the update drops.

Can't believe What Manner of Man is finally over. This has been quite the ride. Wasn't sure how things would turn out, but I'm satisfied with the ending we arrived at.

*Looks at cards in my hand*
I can not prove you wrong.
yknow I think I'll go ahead and put up my hand to say I accuse [Silas] in the [burning manor when no one was looking] with the [previous diaries and letters that Victor thinks are all burned now]

"I asked Alistair to explain a little of what the twin spirals of the ring betokened. He told me a secret — some fragmentary, curiously labyrinthine poetry that I can describe but which I have sworn never to write. It concerned rising and falling celestial wheels; death and rebirth; the rising and setting sun."
-What Manner of Man Chapter 32
Stuff like this is why I love when there's an element of meta fiction. We've known Victor has kept things secret and close to his chest from the start, and here we get an outright statement of 'no I'm not telling this.'
Shows a lot about how close Victor and Alistair are that they have a secret between just them, not even shared with the reader. I think that makes the poem even more powerful than writing it down could have conveyed. If I knew more about them I could probably also draw a link to mystery cults.
In a way it also reminds me of a short story whose title I can't recall at the moment, about a student who goes to live with a tribe to learn their secret, then returns to his professor saying the secret can't be written down.

"It is fitting — you would make a beautiful vessel, a fitting servant to any god.”
Horniest line of the book so far, breathtakingly lustful

I find it funny how after we got that art of Victor and Alistair, which involved Alistair kissing Victor's hand, we got an inversion in today's chapter with Victor kissing Alistair's hand.
Also I see some Jonmina parallels in this chapter, except now it's fully blasphemous.

Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing Transformed is great. Have it on the Wii U, so sadly don't have the TF2 characters, which are a Steam exclusive. Their gimmick is that each kart form (car, boat, plane) is a different character, the others are Pyro and Heavy.
Wish we got another Sega All Stars Racing. Team Sonic Racing was nice and all, but give me my niche Sega boys Phantom R and Billy Hatcher.
spy tf2
The Spy has a Ryu Number of 2.

I don't actually know how to make these text post memes it turns out.
#What Manner of Man#Lord Vane wouldn't normally but if he would write priest kink novels he would also make them have correct details#I just needed to make the obvious joke now that we have some art of Victor to work with

I know its been almost 8 years since I’ve posted any kind of fan art but I couldn’t help myself.
Here have some Inspector Irratino, specifically for the only other four people in the Murdle fandom.
