For your Murder - By Seyoon (9/10)

"You shine."
A serial killer finds a shiny new toy lurking inside a depressed and repressed woman. A woman who has always longed to take revenge on her long list of enemies. That makes her a great target to blame when lots of people end up dead, but is that all it is? This particular killer isn't obsessed with blood alone. Can she keep her sanity in this mess?
Teacher Gijeong is an excellent protagonist. She really does shine.

Without going into too much detail this story has a setup that is near and dear to my heart. It is quite literally Too Real. In South Korea it's apparently acceptable to harass teachers and blame them when your child is a failure. Gijeong is currently dealing with a student who brings knives to class while he violently bullies other very young students.
Grade six students.
Its a tease and awful situation, and the child's mother handles it by constantly harassing and defaming the struggling teacher.
(This sort of culture is also growing like mad in Canada where I am. As a former private school kid yeah parents are bananas and some of them will literally try to ruin school for everybody else.)
Anyway her struggle is very real ahem.

Everything escalates and eventually we, the reader, realize something. Huh. Our protagonist is totally being stalked by a middle aged woman who hates her because she needs someone to blame. For her bad home life. For her son's vile behavior. Anything. She:
- Calls Gijeong at home constantly.
- Starts to pry into Gijeong's personal life.
- Spreads rumors about Gijeong's dating life??? Ew????? With pictures???? Like it's clear she follows Gijeong around AT NIGHT????
It all happens because Gijeong is a great victim. After all as soon as Gijeong calls a lawyer the stalker responds by....accusing her of child abuse.
(Man this is so relatable my skin is crawlingggg. Not from a teacher perspective but as a student from a dramatic af school.)
Anyway the lawyer she hires is really kind and understanding. He decides to take her case on for cheap when he sees her standing in the ran, looking listless. He recently lost a client to suicide, so his need to redeem himself like a hero is showing haha.
What a sweet first meeting!!!!
She also meets a handsome detective, who later tells her to avoid her helpful lawyer emotional support guy.

Anyway dont worry about that. How about some MORE shit that is Too Real??? Giseong is her one and only little brother. He goes to the therapist alot, and even though they barely speak she loves him. Even though life is so hard alone.
Their parents died. They were raised with their aunt. When I say raised a mean they were terribly abused by their aunt and it's clear that Giseong can't function because of his upbringing. Gijeong has to. She's the older one. The smart teacher. She has to do this.
Giseong is getting bullied at school.
He might want to kill himself.
I'm going to hold your hand here, but this might break your heart anyway. I said realistic. Giseong is a complete piece of shit. He wants her to die, and every time he goes to the therapy she pays for he calls her useless. She has no idea. The therapist is doing his best, but Giseong is both disabled by anxiety and a grade A asshole. The worst possible combo.
Gijeong isn't going to get help from anybody anytime soon!
Except her friendly neighborhood lawyer!!!! Who is helping her for free because he's soooo nice!!!!!! His office is right down the street from her apartment!!!!!
Wait a damn second.

The location of his office is just perfect. It makes stalking Giseong really fucking easy!!!! Inseop, our handsome lawyer friend, shows up at Giseong's therapy office. He asks if they take walk in's. They say no. He goes out to have a long sad boy smoke.
He's actually waiting for Giseong.
Where, oh where, is this going???
Giseong responds when he says hello. Inseop, a handsome successful looking man, is looking for a tall building. He wants to die.
Giseong takes him to the roof he personally considered jumping off of.
They have a chat.
Inseop doesn't actually want to jump.
He tells the boy he's afraid, but when he plucks up the courage...
They can die together.
The man and the boy exchange numbers, and then the plan is really in motion.
Inseop doesn't like sharing.

"I want this one."
To the extreme.
To the max.
He wanted to be the only sibling to recive love from his parents, so he got rid of his sister. Her monogrammed pen is his favorite keepsake.
He collects trophies from his victims, like any good serial killer.
He's got a long list of "things" he's really attached to. Instead of people. The pen that represented his parents love was the easiest for a normal mind to understand. The rest are just diabolical.
He got jealous one day when a client bragged about his loving family. So, he made that client a shame to his family. Until they refused to ever speak to him again and he hung himself.
His best friend was just a bug to him, but that bug had a wonderful relationship with his father. So that father died in a "construction accident" and the son, well...he's gone too.
Even his favorite teacher.
She dared to get married.
Gone.
Gijeong doesn't date. Her whole life revolves around caring for Giseong, and getting abused by her stalker. She did go on one date with a weird guy in college, but she didn't want a second date.
I wonder if that's connected to anything??????
Also it doesn't matter if I'm wrong and Inseop chose to obsess over her randomly.
He's great and she's great in totally different ways.

Gijeong starts to crack, and it's not because of Inseop. He's a professional. She doesn't stand a chance against him. No, her mental battle really is against Shitty Momma Stalker. Someone on her level, willing to use societal norms and employment to harass her.
Remember, all of Inseop's "help" is just a ploy to make her depend on him.
He's smart and experienced enough to get rid of Giseong to make her dependant. He's been stalking her with flare. With notes. He damn well knows she won't be his shiny new special thing if Giseong is around.
So, she gets fired.
Teaching gives her joy.
She loves all the kids.
All of the parents liked her too, but as you can see Shitty Momma Stalker dedicated every day of her life to ruining that. Just because of her pride...oh and her jealousy.
Gijeong is a understated pretty woman who loyally cares for her disabled brother. People admire and like her. Her enemies are loud, narcissistic losers who threaten her job while they brag about their money to bring her down.
Her only female friend is one too.
Fuck her life.
Damn.
She was already on her way to collapse before Inseop arrived.
So now she's jobless.
What's next?

He sewed all the seeds. The man has been PLOWING this field. He does his hair every time he sees her. He takes her out for soup to comfort her. He drives her places in his fancy car.
Look at me.
I'm a cool lawyer with money and you're jobless!!!!
Hello?
Hello??
WHY ARENT YOU CALLINGAAAAAAA

After she loses her job my bitch sends him a thank you note.
Bye.
Pfff-
BHWAHAHAHAHAHA.
I literally fell off my couch holy shit.
Inseop didn't manage to do enough damage before she lost her job. Giseong is still alive too. I think he got cocky because she hung out with him a few times. Maybe he planned to kill Giseong after they started dating, so they could attend his funeral together. It would have been so romantic. He never suspected that she truly only saw him as a helping hand. Not her only option. Not a love interest. After she loses her job she politely cuts ties.

So, what can be done? How can he possibly weasel his way back into Gijeong's life now?
The stakes go up.
In flashbacks we see Inseop kill people indirectly. As a reader you might mistakenly think he doesn't like to get his hands dirty. He proves us all wrong when he butchers Shitty Momma Stalker.
This embroils Gijeong in a legal mess, as she was recently fired due to child abuse complaints from Shitty Momma Stalker.
At this point her teaching career is ruined.
It's in the news.
There's articles about it.
What a messy, messy legal mess.
Sounds like somebody needs a lawyer!
He won't delay will killing Giseong this time either.
Gijeong is a tougher thing to have than he thought.
No hard feelings.
He doesn't actually hate Shitty Momma Stalker.
He even apologizes.
"I just want to see Gijeong again."
.
My final notes here will be on the rockin, fuckin adult character design. This webtoon almost reminds me of a noir mystery and the bland colors are so much like everyday office life.
It makes Inseop scarier! He really is lurking amoung us, and he's doing a super good job!

How do you feel about cosmic horror? - By Galpil (8/10)

I love it next question!!!! This is horror and sci-fi to the max, with lots of love added in! The only flaws are the average art and a somewhat boring protagonist. The plot is spine chilling, because our protagonist doesn't remember her loving husband. It quickly becomes obvious that she never had one, and her alien partner has constructed a perfect reality for her to enjoy with him.
One where she can barely recognize herself!
Yu Irae remembers, but she's got pretty bad amnesia. Her past is fighting against her present.
Surprise it's not actually amnesia. Her human brain is struggling to comprehend all the unnatural shit that has been happening to her.

She doesn't remember being married, and that's the only thing she forgot after the accident.
She doesn't recognize her beloved either.

Also, he looks like a pile of tentacles.
First, she asks for help.
Then, she assumes she's going insane.
After that the doctors comfort her.
The human brain is weird. It was a big accident. They assure her she will get better, and her husband will be there to support her.

Why wouldn't she believe it?
The nurses always tell her how handsome her husband is. Her husband (the pile of tentacles) always calls her honey and he seems like an upstanding man???
She caught quite a catch.
He's a CEO and she's a housewife who doesn't have to lift a finger.
The nurses are soooo jealous.
Everyone around her is happy, positive and supportive.

Yohan (that's not his real name. Just a nickname she can pronounce) is all about the truth. He's there to help this wife through her mental health crisis! He tries to fill in the gaps in her memory.
He honestly admits he had to chase her.
Apparently, she didn't like him in the beginning. His crush was one sided for a long time before they got married.

Capgras Syndrome.
A type of disorder that makes people see a loved one as a stranger, after a traumatic event.
She assumes she has this.

She continues to struggle with what she can see....but then it's time to go home.
When Yohan takes her to a fancy penthouse...it doesn't feel like home.
The bad feeling she has becomes more important than what she can see.

Her memories dont match what Yohan is saying.
She remembers an ordinary life, full of regular suffering and few successes. She had a shit job. She didn't do well in school. She's a loner...
No. No. No!
Yohan insists she was a happy woman with a great carrier, and marrying him was the next chapter in her happily ever after!!!

Then she has a weird dream.
She can see Yohan's handsome human face.
He destroys the sky, and she gets this weird feeling in her head.
Is this what sent her to the hospital?
No.
It's just a dream.

She's pretty convinced they're a couple. The doctors are there to reassure her. They start to flirt.
Yohan doesn't like it when she talks about getting older.
He also says she's the only one he's been in a relationship with.
How cute?
Then it gets stranger. He seems to be hostile towards other people. Or more accurately he treats them like servants. Yu Irae is his only RELATIONSHIP. In general. On the planet.
Which explains why she disliked him.
He was basically a rich stalker who was nothing but rude to everyone else.
Of course he reset everything to get his way.
Being charming is way too hard for an alien.

The Young Emperor is Obsessed With Me (Webcomic)
Created by: LEE Yun-Hee / Kara
Genre: Fantasy/Romance
I actually quite like the world building and female characters in this one and I sort of hope that they expand it out more. There's a bit of a twist considering our female lead is one of those 1000 year old witches, though there is an age gap between her and the male lead, so that's something you'll probably have to keep note of, especially since the male lead meets her as a child. As of writing this, there are currently about 36 chapters out now.
The story starts out with Cedric burning down the forest that Ariel lives in. We get a transition in the backstory, seeing that Ariel is a witch that lives in basically a pocket dimension where time passes slowly while the outside world does not. The story actually starts out with Ariel sleeping in her cabin, only to be awoken by a child Cedric who is trying to kill her. After that moment, Cedric keeps on trying to visit Ariel, despite the fact that there was no known way of entering before. It seems that Cedric was able to enter because of an ancient magical circle in front of his manor that he was only able to access because of his plentiful mana, which shocks Ariel considering he knows who the mana in the forest belongs to. The various tree monsters protecting the place also seem to be friendly to him much to his surprise. However, Ariel notices that he's being abused, as noticed by the various bruises and cuts on him, causing her to be concerned over her, especially so when he comes back one day completely disheveled with even more cuts and bruises. We get to see Cedric at his manor being bullied by his older half brother. It seems to get revenge, he had played a prank on his older half brother, but the horse he was riding on was killed as a result. We see that his mother did his best to raise him while he was still alive, given that he is very keen on making sure not to kill people (even though he really wants to, which is...a thing). He comes back the next day, seeing that his brother tried to taunt him with his new horse, Cedric protected himself by killing said horse, covering himself in blood. After giving him a bath and realizing that he can do magic, Ariel teaches him some basics on magic circles. Turns out, he's really good at magic (shocker) and almost burns down the forest. Then afterwards, she teaches him how to read her old textbooks about magic to learn it, and while he is reluctant about it, he becomes really happy keeping the book that Ariel gives him as it's one of the few things that he personally owns. Of course, his brother learns of this and gets his servant to steal it for him, leading to Cedric punishing the servant by cutting off both of his hands. We get a backstory of Cedric's mother attempting to teach him morals, though it is pretty clear that Cedric doesn't really understand various things like mourning, cuteness and just basically not killing people if you need to. Her last wish for him was basically to not kill people until he at least becomes an adult. We also get to see his first encounter with Ariel, attempting to first hit her with a giant rock but then eventually kissing her to wake her up. Which fails so he instead attempts to stab her with a knife, and when she wakes up, he starts her obsession. Meanwhile, Ansel Prince learns about the magical circle from watching Cedric go in and out of it. As the story goes on Cedric eventually grows up to be a young man, and soon after, Ariel seals the gates to prevent him from coming back in the forest, as she wnts him to go and live his life. Cedric because extremely distraught by this, trying to find out ways to make the circle work and Ansel comes to his aid.
Many years pass and Cedric becomes the emperor and is able to find his way back into the forest, burning it down and kidnapping Ariel. She is brought to the mansion, where she gets an entire very red room to herself. She gets a nightmare about her past, morning over a man named Daniel, whom she calls out but Cedric ends up hearing and interrogates her a bit. We learn that the room is very red because it's her favorite color, which makes Ariel feel heart felt. The maids outside gossip about Ariel, hearing that Cedric wants to make her the new empress and talking about the various other empress candidates. Cedric ends up hanging out with Ariel, telling her how heartbroken he was when she left and also threatening to kill all little kids (?) since he feels that since Ariel likes how cute kids are, that he could just get rid of them. It's an empty threat of course (though it does freak Ariel out) and Ariel promises to never leave him. Cedric kind of locks her in her room using magic and we see the arcmages finding a hole of some sort that is soon reported to Cedric. Ariel realizes that she can't read because the language has changed while she was inside of the wormhole. She tries to get the maid outside to read it without ticking her off that she can't read and instead gets distracted seeing a framed picture of her writing. She gets scolded by the maid, and she realizes that the maid is looking down on her and ends up scolding her back. Cedric ends up coming back and Ariel scolds him for not being able to control his staff and ends up taking the maid away. Ariel ends up telling Cedric she can't read, but Cedric seems to refuse to teach her, feeling not only amused that she can't do so but also as a way to control her so that she would have to rely on him instead.
There's a ton of rumors that end up spreading about Ariel being basically an uneducated person as well as her treating Cedric more like a dog at times. We also find out that Cedric has somehow been able to bring back some of the tree monsters he befriended in Ariel's wormhole forest. Ariel realizes that the magical circle found in the forest is actually made by an archmage named Ashilde, something that Cedric also was able to research and make a conclusion of after examining everything. It turns out that Ashilde (Daniel) is actually Ariel's older brother, something that Cedric accidentally believes is actually her lover. Meanwhile, the Saintess, Violet, is shown to have received a message from the temple and is also revealed to be on of the candidates for empress. We get to see some backstory with Ariel and Daniel, seeing that the two constantly loved to fight each other with her older sister Sereniel having to stop them and that they were all of the royal family. Ariel tries to get Cedric to go to the forest but finds out that in fact the people in the manor have started to bring in her belongings from inside the forest. She gets embarrassed when the people there start reading through her diary.
Cedric gets ticked after Ariel brings up leaving him again, promptly getting him to try to lock her up again and we see that initially Cedric was going to kill Ariel for leaving him behind, but couldn't do so. We get some more backstory about why she ended up locking herself into the pocket dimension forest. We see that Ariel's kingdom was at war with other kingdoms, destroying various cities and towns until nobody but her was left. It seems that part of the war they were fighting was another being that was being worshipped by other kingdoms and ended up sealing this being from the world, basically becoming the world's protector by making sure no other being could come in and believing that being in the forest was to repent for her sins. Cedric shows her around the city, showing that people are flourishing and that even a lot of their things are powered by magical circles and Ariel is extremely touched that her sacrifice was able to still keep these people alive. Ariel spots the Saintess inside of the manor and we also get to see that there are various rituals being held all over the city with various dead bodies. The Saintess's mother is very pissed that Ariel has suddenly come into the picture and plots to get rid of her. We also see that Rachel, a half elf and also a marriage candidate has come to work at the manor as Ariel's new maid essentially to gather information about her. Ariel is determined to do something so she decides to learn the basic language so she can read things. While there she stumbles upon a mage in training and ends up finishing a magic circle on his cape. This ends up being a huge breakthrough among mages and the little boy is promised by Ariel to keep it a secret that she was the one who altered it. We get to meet another marriage candidate named Rosemary, who is determine to become rivals with Ariel. Rosemary comes over and attempts to insult her, but Ariel is completely unaffected, finding her very cute instead and doting on her. The young mage in thanks for helping him with the circle, teaches Ariel how to read and she later goes with him and the elf maid out to shopping where she buys a bunch of seemingly very broken things. After this, Rosemary nearly gets attacked outside and Ariel just straight up punches them and saves Rosemary. Later on Rosemary ends up inviting Ariel to come over and to her surprise, Rosemary seems to be much friendlier with her now and is even trying to make her the best marriage candidate, something that greatly shocks and depresses Ariel, as she doesn't want to be a marriage candidate. We learn that Rosemary doesn't actually want to be a marriage candidate, but rather a duke since she believes her idiot brothers wouldn't be able to handle the household, so she and Cedric struck a deal where if she can get Ariel to be the empress then she can be the Duke.
Ariel mentions that she still wants to go back to the forest, which pisses Cedric off, and we see that he felt so lonely when Ariel blocked him off initially, and still feels abandoned after all this time. The Saintess comes to Cedric talking about the various cult seeings amongst the city and the word of her god, basically stating that Ariel is the witch that will lead them all into downfall. This ends up leading to a trial for their case against Ariel. There is a magic circle in the floor that basically acts as a truth detector, having a maid that was "close" to Ariel reveal all of her wrong doings, including things like burning her diary (which everyone believes is still an ancient book) as well as various spells outing her as a witch. We see that various people come to her aid, including the young mage that was teaching her, even outing that she was the one who fixed the magic circle on his cape. Rachel also steps in to showcase her account of what she's been doing in a very meticulous fashion. We find out that the maid that is testifying against her is also wearing a magic object that nullifies the circle and proves that she is lying. They try to get rid of the maid by causing a distraction, but Ariel is able to stop them, and in turn get the Saintess to speak on the matter. We find out that the religion that she is the saintess of is actually the one that worships the being that Ariel was able to seal, causing her to feel distraught as that means that her sacrifice didn't get rid of the being entirely. The final chapters currently have Ariel going out with Cedric as he confesses just how much Ariel means to him and the next plans that the Saintess will be pulling off.
I will say that the worldbuilding in this story is pretty unique as far as these fantasy isekai stories. The fact that there was a civilization 1000 years ago that caused the death/downfall of humanity due to wars and a godlike figure is pretty different. I like the idea that magical circles are being adapted in this new world, and although they don't know how it works fully, they still are able to use magic to move airships and power other various things. The mystery of why the god that caused the wars that Ariel had to seal away is pretty intriguing, since Ariel seems shocked that it's still managed to not only survive but develop a cult following. As well as the idea that there are various species that live in the world too, like half elves. I kind of wish the story would delve more into these things since it feels like it's only touching the bare minimum since the focus is romance, but I don't think it will since, once again, the main focus is romance.
Ariel as a protagonist I feel very split about, mostly because there are some parts that more infuriate me about her reactions and some I actually quite like. The thing that bothers me the most is her reaction to Cedric burning down her forest and generally trying to get back. I understand that she feels pretty apathetic about a lot of things due to her exposure to war and feeling guilty, but her entire reasoning for sealing herself there was to punish herself for causing everyone's deaths and to prevent the god that corrupted the humans in the first place. She can't go back because Cedric burned the entire place down yet doesn't feel any anger, resentment or even just sadness from this happening. Even if most of her stuff was saved, she basically has no qualms being moved/kidnapped into Cedric's manor and seems to not really want to try moving back. I would have though that even if Ariel didn't show much reaction, she would try to get back to her old place, like by trying to study magic or even trying to get a mage to help her get back, especially since she's trying not to be chosen as the next marriage candidate. In addition, it seems like the story is trying to show that Ariel is somehow in the wrong for wanting to go back, with her continuously sympathizing with Cedric for abandoning him, even though I think that her cutting of attachments to him was probably the right call given that she would have stayed in slumber for who knows how long, and eventually would have had to watch him die. I will say that her as a general character is very different from a lot of protagonist in these types of otome isekai stories. She's 1000 years old and has a detachment to people dying, so for a lot of the deaths that Cedric causes, she doesn't really feel anything. I think it's cool that she has knowledge of magic that can help out with current civilization, being able to not only fix the magic circle on the kid's cape but also recognize other types of magic circles and knowing how they can be utilized. Her arc of learning a new language because she's been asleep so long and hasn't adjusted to the new life is fun and I really like her interactions with female characters, specifically Rosemary and Rachael, with her viewing Rosemary's attempts at being mean spirited akin to a dog and her being off put by Racheal is very entertaining and I kind of like those interactions more than the ones she has with Cedric. Finally I'm a big fan of Ariel's sibling dynamic with Daniel. Although it's not shown extensively, being able to see the two bicker is a very fun time and everyone knows I'm a sucker for bickering siblings.
I have to bring up the elephant in the room at some point and that is the age gap between Ariel and Cedric. It's one of those Ariel is 1000 years old and met Cedric as a child type of romances, so if you are not really into that I can completely understand. Personally, I think it's alright for now mostly because Ariel hasn't developed any feelings for Cedric yet and there's a bit more time stuff going on. In addition, Ariel doesn't directly raise him and there is a giant timeskip to when Cedric is grown up. Ariel is also not mentally 1000 years old, mostly just being in and out of sleep for a uncertain amount of time. Anyways, like I said, there are some schematics to what's going on in the story that make it less, well, illegal and it is just a story in the end. That being said I don't particularly like the dynamic between Cedric and Ariel all that much. This is completely a me thing since I don't think it's necessarily bad, I just don't particularly like Cedric being the one who is constantly teasing Ariel, even as a child. I think it's alright as a relationship, but we also haven't seen too much of it with Cedric as an adult as of yet.
Cedric I actually find more interesting as a child rather than an adult. As a child, he has that entire thing relating to being a psychopath- not being able to understand emotion properly and not really understanding morals as a result. We see this pretty much as Cedric's mom tries to teach him how to properly respond to things, and telling him not to kill until he's an adult, and seeing him cut off a servant's hands without remorse as well as cause the death of his brother's horse. We get to see that his relationship with Ariel is similar to his relationship with his mother, with Ariel being the only other person in his life to take care of him and to treat him well. So it's understandable that when he was abandoned he grew resentment towards her and was conflicted on whether he should kill her or kidnap her, considering again, she was probably the second person who was ever nice to him. I think as an adult though, we don't really see this kind of confusion anymore. He seems a lot more free to kill or punish as he chooses given that he is the next emperor, though I personally don't really find him as dangerous as he was when he was a child. Cedric runs between having affection towards Ariel and manipulating her as yanderes tend to do. Cedric remembers her favorite color and adorns her room in red, keeps up her writings as priceless artifacts, manages to rescue all of her stuff (from the fire he started, but whatever) and generally shows Ariel that not all is lost in this world. On the other hand he of course, does burn down her forest and makes sure she can't go back to it, gets really jealous and suggests murdering children so that he can be the only cute child in her eyes (that's worded really badly, sorry about that), teases her by not teaching her how to read so she would be forced to depend on him, wants Rachel's detailed writings on what she does in her life, gets jealous about Daniel but still is able to manipulate her into admitting that Daniel was her brother and probably guilt tripping her constantly about the fact that she abandoned him when he was younger. Definitely he has yandere traits and burning down the forest is a bold yandere move, though I feel as if it would have been more impactful if Ariel had a more proper reaction to it. I think that Cedric will somehow be able to get Ariel to become his new empress in the future though.
Overall, a semi unique story that has a lot of ups and downs in my eyes. While there are a lot of things that I think have potential and are interesting, there's also a lot of things that a find a bit boring or bland. Either way, if this does interest you, please try checking it out.

I'm in the Same Class as the Crazy Male Leads - By Sombe (8.5/10)

What if you were sitting in class, giggling away? Writing about three hot and crazy men obsessing over a girl that could never be you. It was wholesome and sweet and cheesy and your friends read it with you, but now you're 26. Those days of innocence are your only hint, because you look 17. You're back again, in a weirdly ideal version of life.
Now this is a regression story I can get behind.
Yeonie isn't a famous author or a depressed bitch. She lived a regular high school life....and she wasted her youth the regular way. Her job is dead end. She dyed her hair blond. Her life is colorless. She doesn't really long for high school, but she remembers being innocently happy. A real fool too rosy to prepare for the future.

Now, she's 17 again and nothing looks quite right. Her average high school is now the fanciest one in the country. The cafeteria serves pork belly. Sometimes British style tea time is on the menu! Lots of national level athletes and rich kids are hidden in the crowd. There's an ice rink and a cozy huge library and multiple pools and.....the teachers are lax? Totally chill as long as you try your best and be kind to your fellow man.
In other words it's a dreamy ~academy~ type place. Not some bog standard school.
She has the chance to change her future.

Here are the issues.
First off she doesn't remember anything. In high school she wasted all of her time writing an extremely detailed yandere harem story. A high school one. She did use her school as a baseline for it. That's why her life looks mostly the same, with ridiculously convenient add ons.
Secondly, she still has adult cravings. Yeonie struggles with a need for cigarettes as well as alcohol. Being 17 again is really awkward for her.
Thirdly, the female lead isn't here yet. Like every protagonist she arrives as a transfer. That'll take months.
Fourthly, her yandere hottie harem is populated by dangerous bastards. The student council president is a rich boy who struggles with his sociopathic tendencies. He's only pretending to be nice because his influential parents control his every move. Plus, behaving like a good son guarantees him a powerful future. One where he will undoubtedly rule. The quiet guy that always sleeps at the back of the class is an extreme stalker with a huge body. He's a national level athlete that has appeared on TV. He's not tied down by popularity and reputation like the president either. So he's more likely to act out.
Yeonie doesn't know if she'll be killed or chased out of school before the heroine distracts all the mad men.

There is a third candidate.
Cha Yihan. A popular boy with somewhat foreign looks. He's yandere number three...but Yeonie remembers almost nothing about him. He's an insecure, desperate and lonely liar who uses his bubbly attitude to keep people at a distance. Nobody knows he has top grades. Nobody knows his parents are rich. His family doesn't control him. They neglect him. So Cha Yihan hangs out with crowds of people at school, desperately trying to drown out the loneliness. Everyone assumes he's a bit of a dumb delinquent, and he's too scared to right that misunderstanding.
He's actually kind enough to carry Yeonie to the nurse when she faints.
He's a unique sort of yandere, who doesn't want to be bad. He just gets attached to Yeonie....and he gradually becomes more clingy.

Kang Sunwoo notices her fear first. He questions why she's acting friendly when she's so clearly afraid of him. She dodges and weaves and eventually they model together for the school newsletter.
Yeonie isn't the first person to notice how weird the president is, but she is the first to move past it. She feels guilty because she gave all three leads lonely lives and bad backstories.

They all do a group project, and I'm happy to say the main lead isn't obvious. It's easy to keep reading because all three boys matter.

Yeonie never tells any of them the truth, and she tries to move on with her life. Everything seems to be real, besides some new characters. Life goes on....and she's afraid they will literally murder her if her identity as "their author" comes to life.
Kang Sunwoo is in a vicegrip under his paranoid parents.
Cha Yihan spent his entire childhood crying for attention.
Kim Chanseung has to deal with people treating him like a monster because of his size. He's also got a bad reputation at school because of his social issues. Issues that were given to him to make him more "interesting".
I'd be scared too.

I'd say Cha Yihan is the scariest. He's socially competent, cute, and good at making her feel guilty. He constantly acts like a clingy boyfriend from day one, before Yeonie even opens up to him. He wants everything about Yeonie. Her happiness. Her innocence. Her sweet family. She is his escape. An angelic ride away from his uncaring family, and that's what makes him so dangerous. Yeonie isn't just the girl he wants. He can't imagine a future without her because she can fix his problems.
Not good.

Kang Sunwoo isn't very patient for a sociopath. He tries to use money and power to lure Yeonie in, but he realizes she's really fun when....they start bickering.
It's extremely cute!
These two bicker and call each other out all the time. Yeonie doesn't have to kiss butt and flirt and act cute with Mr. President. The blunter she is the better!
Indulgent yanderes have their own special charm, and I think she'd survive well with him.

Kim Chanseung is a socially stunted stalker. The Bad Choice all around. A boy who sulks about in a hoodie when he's not doing sports. He's always in the background, and Yeonie doesn't suspect she's being stalked until later. She feels awful about his confidence and communication issues, because mental illness ain't cute. Her 17 year old self definitely signed him up for a life of torture. Her pity accidentally gives him hope, and there's a chance that he's The Violent One. So we could have a villain arc.
Honestly I could see all three as the final villain.

Corroded Cage - By Kim jong geon (9/10)

A bad boy and a bad girl. They're not on the same level, but they're about to be. Partners in crime. A killer and a shitty person. Sometimes you just might be depressed enough to associate with the lowest of the low. Then it really will be too late.
Kang Hyeri is a hot girl who used to hang out with rich delinquents.
Until their bullying killed her childhood friend.
She blames herself.

Kang Hyeri has been in the dark for a long time. Night terrors. Chain smoking. No dreams. No aspirations. Getting kicked out of her family. Poverty, then debt.
It all happened because she was naive, and she made the wrong choices when she was a teenager.

Her debt isn't going away anytime soon, so eventually she decides to kidnap a wealthy looking woman.
It's a man in drag, who is also a serial killer.
So he's a worthless hostage and he's extremely dangerous.
Great.
She locks him in the bathroom for two days.

She smokes and frets and cries and has bad dreams.

Mr. Murderer was out hunting bad people, and he's no pushover. He doesn't seem to have a vendetta or any sort of mission. If anything he's obsessed with pleasure, and murder is one of those things.

When Kang Hyeri starts beating him up he likes it.
In fact, he loves it.
He confesses his love pretty quick.

He compliments her for her choking skills.

He also jokingly calls Kang Hyeri his "husband" because she brings in money for them.
She's currently being pressured into sex work by her debtors, who beat her.
She's working hard instead, because under all the bullshit Kang Hyeri is your average cowardly girl.
Her life got fucked because she flirted with some rich guys.
It really is unfair.
Mr. Murderer actually becomes her partner first, and frankly it's perfect. He immediately becomes someone she can't live without. Someone who makes her feel normal. He starts working at the Cafe down the street, and he happily gives all the money to her.
She's worth it.
He knows they'll be a wonderful couple...
...of murderers!

He only attacks her when he wants her to face her emotions.
He makes her admit that she's really not so tough.
That she was just a kid.
A Victim, but she could be more.
If she's willing to change.

Her friend watches over her the entire time, like a ghost.
It feels like his frozen face will never leave her.
She found him inside an industrial freezer.
The bullies were never punished....so...with a little help...she decides to punish her bullies.
The debtors scream in shock when Kang Hyeri dares to stab one of them.
Mr. Murderer cleans up the rest of the mess.
So, just like that, it's over.
Kang Hyeri isn't a victim anymore. She has always felt like a murder, because of what happened to the one good boy she knew.
Now, she really is one.
She's free.

I Will Tame the Tormented Prince in this Life - By MATSUFUJI Karuri (7/10)

I was murdered and tormented by you, but I'll save you this time! Is our protagonist an altruistic moron? Kinda. Her husband in her first life, a maddended prince, imprisoned her with multiple other wives because he did not trust them. Also, because his mind was permanently damaged due to poison. Now he's all better? Right? Yeah totally...
Radil is a handsome man with nothing but his royal blood.

Izelia is some woman from the boonies. Radil keeps scaring his potential brides away, so eventually she is chosen...as another sacrifice.

It's way worse than you think.
Radil has captured and tortured every noble lady who dared to marry him.
Izelia is the same.
She doesn't get treated any different.
Her family storms the lonely castle to save her, but she burns to death in a fire set by her husband.

She is his final kill. He choses death as well. The mad, useless, deranged, unwanted prince dies with his five spy wives. They all deserved to die too. They were spying on him.
Izelia was innocent, but it doesn't matter.
They all burn together.
Izelia's panicked family dies as well, as the burning dungeon crumbles.
Radil dies jealous.
His last wife was very loved.
He never had that.

Izelia goes back in time. She's 16 again, back in the days when she was a normal noble lady. Before her father lost their fortune.
She sees the truth.
Radil was a kind boy, but his mental health is already sliding badly.
Big brother blondie here feeds him poison and torture on a daily basis.
Why?
It makes him look good.
It gets rid of the competition.
Plus, it proves pure blood is superior.

That's why Radil is still alive.
His mumbling, bumbling existence "proves" that bastards cannot be given power.
His mother was a stupid maid who "tricked" the king with her evil temptations.
Radil is a unfortunate royal.
Something they keep around out of pity, to show everyone the "truth".
Only a man of good breeding should be king.

Izelia hugs him. She wonders how a boy with a passion for flowers could possibly become a murderer, and yeah constant poison torment will do that to a guy.
Radil was still in the wrong.
He continued the cycle of pain, but there's no denying that he's an innocent now.
Izelia comforts him once. She realizes it's selfish, but she does leave.
She just can't risk it.
She loves her family.
She wishes her ex-husband good luck, she sheds some tears, she calls blondie an abuser to his face, and she leaves.
It's all she can do.

Her life shines as it did before.
She studies the ancient art of electricity.
She works in the fields.
Her father lost all their cash again, of course.
She's just one woman.
She can't fix the future.
She can only save herself.

She receives a letter from Radil.
He's 16 now, and he needs an advisor.
He asks Izelia.
She's moved, deep down, but she decides to reject him.
When he shows up on her doorstep the choice becomes much harder.
Radil threatens to kill her family, if they get in his way.
In his mind Izelia would never refuse to help him.
She is his only light.

Izelia meets her competition. Another advisor, who finds her inferior.
Radil almost kills her too.
Radil also almost kills a maid.
He's very, very close to his breaking point.
He would never hurt Izelia though.
Not unless she asked for pain.
Izelia decides to pursue becoming an advisor seriously. Her big mouth drags her in too deep, and Radil is skilled under the murder poison.
Saving him will benefit the whole country.
What could possibly go wrong?
