I want you to know that you were LUCKY.
Or bad luck.
HAHAHA
I've been feeling bad lately - not relevant, but I was planning to give you a chapter like the previous ones, maybe twist the knife a bit too much. But today, for some reason, some very good things happened (minimal, but good) and I wrote something at the last minute, taking advantage of the fact that it's chapter 7.
(In some regions, it's a lucky number that cancels curses. It's also the number of my cabin.)
A more "happier" or "comforting" chapter, and really short.
I'm running to upload it, I just wanted to notify🔥

Not about fanfiction.
Have you ever tried hard for someone who's emotionally unwell and terrible at communication, but it never seems enough? You know. That person loves you, but they're unwell, and it's bad for your feelings and communication. You try to be there, help, be loving, and communicate. Nothing is enough. Everything is unnecessary. You don't know if they really love you and cares about you or if you're just a nuisance. Sometimes they're affectionate, sometimes they're cold.

Hello! I have a writing question. So I'm trying to write my own take on the Athenide AU and I'd like to use the idea of Poseidon initially rejecting Perse instead of Athena. (Which he soon regrets ofc.) I want the rejection to be caused by a mixture of his temper and a hatred towards Athena, but I'm struggling to get it right. Any advice?
I'm so glad you're using the idea! And as for the development you want to make, it depends on your perspective and writing style. Personally, having written a bit from each perspective and using a third-person narrator allows me to use resources to make my point. Still, I hope it helps you.
To show your anger and hatred towards Athena, add lines about her expressions, her body language, the attitude of the sea or the density of the air, give him direct or passive-aggressive dialogues (depending on the qualities you give him) and, perhaps, emphasizing this through other characters might be helpful, if you're not writing from their perspective.
If you write from Poseidon's perspective, you can more easily expand on feelings, sensations, the environment and relationships from his point of view, as well as being able to directly say his reasons and emotional state.
Poseidon is a very complex god, and while it's beautiful to read what he's written about, it's very difficult to write. Good luck and success, darling. I look forward to reading your version of the AU. 💞
(Sorry for the bad English.)

Sorry for not updating, things got a little complicated at the end, but the episode will probably be out by early morning (I woke up late, so I didn't lose any sleep). LOVE YOU.

Officially starting to write! I think all my exams are over, and we're in the review period before winter break, so I can focus on writing a little more calmly.
Look:
There will be more than one point of view. I've drawn up an outline of what I'd like it to be like and to keep it as natural as possible in the story based on where it started and how I want it to continue, so I hope I can achieve that.

(Old draft)
I got delirious and instead of developing the initial events, I'm developing the events of Epic.
Well, I love something I heard as a child (historically and mythologically very unlikely) that Homer is the son or grandson of Telemachus.
Crazy.
I love it.
Actually, I estimate that Homer must be much later. About four or five, perhaps six, generations after Telemachus. Still, I can imagine that Telemachus had a daughter or granddaughter who married someone outside of Ithaca, and over the generations, contact between the families was lost.
That gives me the possibility that one of the Ionian islands, Athens, Rhodes, Pylos or Argos, places where it was theorized that Homer's home was.
A notable thought within the Ionian Islands theory is that Homer is particularly from Corfu (Κέρκυρα in modern Greek). According to mythology, Poseidon fell in love with the nymph Corcyra. He abducted her, as was customary among the gods in the myths of the time. He took her to the island, which until then had no name, and, in a burst of happiness, he gave the place his name: Corcyra, which ended up evolving into Cercyra (in the Doric dialect). Together, they had a child whom they named Phaeacians, from whom the Phaeacians descended, which is why it is believed that Corfu was, mythologically speaking, the home of the Phaeacians who welcomed them.
In my head (a really recurring phrase of mine), I can imagine a young Homer being inspired by the stories he heard by word of mouth, whose protagonists had already perished and therefore the absolute truth was unknown and many things were distorted by the passage of time and the instability of the stories transmitted orally.
Homer grew up hearing about the Trojan War and Odysseus's difficult journey home from the children or grandchildren of those who took the man in during those latter events and heard his stories. Perhaps the older ones were also able to witness it, but they were very young at the time.
I don't know, just something fun to think about and entertain yourself by connecting red threads on a whiteboard and making conspiracy theories at three in the morning.
Also a part of me believes that, due to all the mysticism and little knowledge about the figure of Homer, that this was just a pseudonym, probably an acquired title or an affectionate or despective nickname.
According to Wikipedia: The name Homeros is an Ionic variant of the Aeolian Homaros. Its meaning is 'hostage', 'pledge' or 'guarantee'. There is a theory that the name comes from a society of poets called the Homerids (Homēridai), which literally means ‘children of hostages’, that is, descendants of prisoners of war. Since these men were not sent to war because their loyalty was in doubt on the battlefield, they did not die on it. Therefore, when there was no literature proper (written), they were entrusted with the job of remembering local epic poetry and, with it, past events. It has also been suggested that the name Homer may be a play on words derived from the expression ho me horón, meaning ‘he who does not see’.

I'm almost done with chapter five! I'll be posting it anytime before midnight (I realized after I started posting the fic that not everyone is in the same time zone. I'm from continental America, if that gives you an idea of mine.)
I open a debate! Who came first: Hephaestus or Ares?

Okay. Update:
I'm about halfway to three-quarters of the way through the chapter. That's really good. After the post, I skipped school and I will skip school tomorrow too, so I can take it easy as long as I time my homework and sleep well. Thanks for the concern, but I really wouldn't risk more than losing a few hours of sleep a night for a fanfic. I was overreacting, and I felt a little bad because two people told me to take it easy. Thank you so much, although I didn't think I'd hurt myself in any way.

My goal for Chapter Five was between 3000 and 4000 words...
I have 1000 words, I'm in crisis, I have two exams this week, I'm staying up more than I should, it's going to be freezing where I live and I don't know how to connect what I want to do with what I already have.
But I'm going to publish the chapter on July 1st even though my mental and physical stability are compromised.

Anyone else who appreciates Dad Apollo?
I just started the next chapter (late, I know). I'm discussing with my friends (lol, ChatGPT, and DeepSeek) how I should divide the chapters with the plots I've been thinking about, rereading other fanfics to try to understand their ideas and perspectives, deepening and expanding my knowledge of myths (PolGiseMitología, Archivo Mitológico, Mitos & Leyendas Desconstruidos; all of them in Spanish) to better structure the story.
I don't really have any friends interested in mythology or fanfic to discuss this with, so I was just asking if you had any suggestions.
I was thinking of dedicating about three to five chapters to Perseira to develop her relationship with Athena and Apollo and her adaptation to ancient Greek socioculture.
Hermes and Poseidon will appear later. I don't want to force their appearances when Perseira won't be interacting with them, and I plan to give them their own chapters to provide an entertaining introduction and show their perspectives.

If you didn't get the update, I left you my belated Father's Day gift. Lmao.
In other news, I have some interesting ideas for fanfics, taking some inspiration from others:
—I've noticed that Percy time travels a lot. I love it. In one particular case, it was Cassandra, and in another, Coronis. So I wondered, why not Hyacinth? Why not Penelope? Or the nymph Penelope? There are literally so many options, so many partners. I NEED MORE. I'M HUNGRY.
—I read a time-traveling Percy fanfic. It only has two chapters, I think, but the description suggests he disguises himself as Antinous to protect Penelope and Telemachus. I'm not sure if Antinous already existed and supplanted him, or if Percy created him for that purpose. But I love Antinous. We need more of his fiction. And this plot is also enriching.
—I read several fanfics (lie, there were less than five) about the "Jackson triplets" or the "Jackson twins" where Percy is the reincarnation of Icarus and Hyacinth (there are many solo fanfics about it) and his/her siblings are Crocus and Psique. So WHY CAN'T PERCY BE PSYCHE?! WHY CAN'T HE BE CROCUS?! Take notes, guys. Take notes. You're so talented, you'll do great.
—A fucking spin-off or epilogue of I Have Swallowed My Pride (To Say Goodbye).

AU of the Athenide AU
Will Solace → Theronikos
θέρω (thérō) – “care, warm, protect” + νίκη (níkē) – “victory”
__________
Excerpt from Religion and Hellenistic Translation: Minor Deities, by Dominique Lawrence Al-Abbas; Chapter XVII: Theronikos. Page 150, Introduction: Origin.
"[…] According to the ancient bards, Theronikos was born as a result of the inadvertent embrace between Apollo, god of harmony and light, and Calliope, the Muse of epic poetry, witnessing for the first time the superhuman talent of their son Orpheus. Although considered an accidental birth, the augurs of Delphi insist that such a union was “harmony incarnate,” and that no other child could have been formed with more purpose.
At birth, the child god repeatedly babbled the phrase:
“Δεῖ με θεραπεύειν τὴν Νίκην.”
(Deî me therapeúein tḕn Níken)
“I must take care of Nikē.”
The gods, surprised, took this statement as an involuntary prophecy. Some interpreted it as an oath to the goddess Nikē (Victory), others as a harbinger of her role in preserving the balance between life, glory and loss. Apollo, moved, granted him the name:
Theronikos (Θερώνικος)
“He who cares for Victory”
Since then, his cult developed alongside that of the healing gods, but with its own nuances: protector of the wounded of glory, patron of pediatric medicine, emotional introspection and the spiritual recovery of the deceased. […]"
____________
I GAVE MY ALL.
Basically, Will spoke in English, but nobody understands. So then he spoke in Greek and said "I need to care for Nico" or "I must care for Nico". Or something like this. And Apollo, Calliope and everyone understand Nikē, like victory, as a kind of reference to the fact that he would be a god of medicine specifically aimed at warriors or something like that.
I gave Will the name at 4:50 in the morning, I wasn't really thinking and I thought it was a funny joke.
Lol. I have an expository lesson of Literature tomorrow and my group did not study except me. I hope my teacher doesn't call us in this class because I'll kill them and myself.
Sorry for any grammatical error or something like that.

Reasons for choosing Hermes as Perseira's partner? None, I just felt like it.
I'm bored, so I'm going to describe a little bit of Hermes' perspective, which I haven't written yet:
Hermes did not see Athenide being born, but arrived immediately afterward to take her to Olympus. Initially, he felt lust for her, but paid little attention to it. Then, Perseira began to take more relevance and he began to notice her.
He falls deeply in love. He tells her that if someone had told him years ago that he would one day want to get married and settle down, to be loyal to just one woman, he would have laughed, but today he couldn't do that anymore.
In other news: the next chapter will be published on June 1st. I'm trying to be consistent (the first and twentieth of the month) and I hope to keep it up.
