Halictus rubicundus is a ground nesting bee and member of the groups known as sweat bees and furrow bees. Either one is correct.

Her nest entrance collapsed or was filled in while she was out. An assortment of things could have happened we had a major rain the day before I recorded this. Most of the bees are cleaning out their nests today. I think dirt from the nest next door accidently filled the top of her nest hole but don't truly know.

The bees in the nest are going to be fine, they will dig out in an hour or two.

The bee outside is at some risk. She needs to go find a nice place and start digging a nest if she is going to live. She is already pregnant and the only thing keeping her from laying eggs are her queens pheromones. A little time nectering wouldn't hurt her either. If she stays where she is she is likely to become a meal or die of exhaustion. I've seen it go both ways.

The largest Venus Flytrap in the picture was last years seedling and isn't even as large as a dime as it starts its 2nd growth season. Below it at about four o'clock is this years recently sprouted seedling.

They are both about the same color, if that helps at all.
