“Good, go find out, like the wind,” he said with a shrug before resting his chin on his hand. “Why? Nothing ever goes on with me? And we both know you don’t actually care about me, so basically you expect to miss a month of school and still think you can be in the top five of your class?”
“Always so charming and welcoming.” Odette replied back, rolling her eyes as she made herself comfortable in the arm chair and glanced around. Letting out a mock gasp as she placed a hand over heart. “and yet would you look at that? Because I still am in the top five.” She replied with a smug smirk. “I had my assignments and homework sent to me.”

“Your mothers death?” Odette queried as she lounged lazily on the sofa, studying her fresh manicure and almost groaning to see one was slightly misshapen compared to the others. “I honestly have no idea, I was away myself.”
“Yeah I’m back, it was the anniversary of my moms….” he took a breath before trying to force a smile. “Did I miss anything?”

He shrugged, “Are you assuming that I know everything that goes on in this school? You’re right, but doesn’t mean it’s anything interesting. More or less, I’m wondering more what you’re doing back, and why you left?”
Odette rolled her eyes at his words. “I can find out things for myself, as you well know.” She replied coolly. “I was more interested to know what’s going on with you.” She said with a simple shrug. “Spa month, took my own sabbatical. No, I wasn’t suspended or anything, just my own month away.”

“Absolutely” he smiled as the girl took the seat across from him. “I feel that.. We all have our little guilty pleasures that for sure.” Quentin was no stranger to blowing off some steam in unusual ways so he totally understood where she was coming from. Not that shopping was really all that unusual. “That’s alright, I won’t judge” he winked playfully. “Did you buy anything good?”
Odette continued to smile brightly at him as she studied him for a moment- he seemed eager to make friends and he saw the way that his eyes had lingered on her features for just a moment longer than they should have, she could use that to her advantage. “Odette Durand.” She said sweetly as she held out her hand for him to shake. “I bought some new coats and splurged on some new dresses even though I already have plenty.” She giggled. “I can’t help myself sometimes.”

“Sounds like a lie, but okay. I’m good for the most part, but if someone asks me if I want something I shouldn’t have, I almost always say yes.”
“Well, I mean some people grate my nerves but hate is such a useless emotion.” That was also a lie, Odette found using hate as an excellent motivating tool when it was needed. “I do have a slight weakness for scones and jam, I’m not going to lie.”

“He isn’t that bad, though. I just like to give him hell ‘cause our parents are maybe dating.” It left her sounding more like a question than a statement. “Same. Except I have more boots than I know what to do with. I can’t wear stilettos, even if they do make me look taller.” It wasn’t that she didn’t like stilettos, it was merely that she had a hard time not falling over herself when she chose to wear them. “We can do one after dinner. I haven’t put on a fashion show since I was really little, so it’ll be fun and maybe I can break out some of my designs I’ve yet to show off,” she mused. “Can’t wait to see it. I’m sure whatever the dress is goes amazing with the coat.” Given her choice of hobby, she had an eye for fashion, though she didn’t utilize it much when it came to her own choices in clothing. “For especially good reason. There isn’t much I love about Paris, but I will never turn down a trip there simply for the fashion. My mother spent a good chunk of her life there because it was where she was born, so we visited her family a lot when we had the chance.” And a nanny had always gone with them, but she didn’t add that. She’d vented enough about her family over family weekend. “Well, if you like it, you can wear it to the next big event, or I could suggest a Kingswood fashion show? It’s an idea that’s been brewing in my head for the longest time, but I need a few people on board before I pitch it to the headmaster.”
Odette’s eyebrows shot up at the mention of their parents possibly dating, now that is the type of information that she could definitely have in case it was ever needed for future reference. “Dating?” She asked in disbelief, shaking her head as she quickly fell back into the role she was playing. “I mean, that’s such an odd connection to have but I suppose you can find love at any age, though if his father is anything like him..” waving her hand in the air as if to say what she meant and hoping that Jessa understood her. “I do love my boots but I feel that I will always be a heels girl myself.” She confessed, she just like the way stilettos made her legs look, longer than they already were. “It’s just a simple black dress but I feel the coat will really make it pop.” She explained and she already had in her head how amazing the outfit would look, definitely something that would turn heads which is what Odette always wanted. “My mother was born in France too, her family still lives there, she only stayed over here because she met my father in college and they built a career for themselves over here.” Resisting the urge to roll her eyes at the mere mention of her parents but stopping herself, the last thing she needed was people knowing how strained the relationship was. “I’m always here for a Kingswood fashion show!” Odette exclaimed brightly, especially if she was going to be a model for it. “but only if I can be the head model. I definitely have the figure and features for it or so I’ve been told.”

“My, my, my.” Odette laughed as she lazily flicked through the schools gossip blog, chuckling lowly to herself as she read the various comments that were being left on the page. “Seems some people around here really do like to keep themselves busy.” She added as she leaned casually against the locker, not really caring who it belonged to. Glancing when she heard footsteps approaching her. “Did you need something?”

If there was one thing that Odette had become known for during her time at Kingswood, it was being a stickler for her routine and when she walked into the library to find that someone had taken her favorite study spot, she let out a huff as the designed handbag hung off her wrist loosely as she walked over to the small female with confidence, clearing her throat. “I don’t want to be that person, doll.” She drawled out in a slightly bored tone. “but that is my spot and it’s known to be my spot.”

Odette felt like she had missed so much while she had been gone, but she needed the month away if not to only fix her hair. Strutting into the common area and glancing around, her eyes falling on a mop of familiar red hair and smirking to herself as she walked over to Duke, falling into the arm chair across from him. “So Duke,” she asked in an innocent tone, a sweet smile gracing her plump lips. “What’s the skinny, sugar? It’s been so long.”

“I was the only person my ex told her problems too, so I knew everything about everyone. It was kind of funny to see her pretending to like someone she complained about the day before. I get it. I’m not allowed to eat a lot of stuff too, but I break that rule every now and then.”
Odette tilted her head as she contemplated his words. “I don’t think there is anyone I dislike.” A blatant lie, Odette had yet to come across someone who she had an actual affection for. “I’m surprisingly quite good with having resistance especially against things that I shouldn’t be eating.”

“I used to be in the same situation back home. I’m just glad no one here is popular enough for me to know them without knowing them. All the best things in life are fattening. It’s depressing. Yeah, she’s great.”
“For some reason, people like to tell me all their problems.” Not that Odette was complaining, it meant that it was always information that she could use later against someone. “Well, I mean I tend to watch what I eat and have a strict gym regime but that’s only because of cheer and lacrosse.” She admitted and mainly because the idea of gaining weight was something that often plagued her, not having the perfect figure. “She definitely sounds it, perhaps I’ll have to introduce myself.”

Odette hadn’t bothered with Saige since the whole drama with Axl had happened, she’d found the girl rather pathetic in her attempt to garner attention and her no doubt failed attempts at trying to bring Odette down. She’d even had a small chuckle to herself when she’d learned that the girl had injured herself on the Alps trip, of course someone like Saige would manage that double amount of attention and pretend she didn’t want it. She’d been hoping for a little more fight from the female but instead had just found her sad in the whole ordeal. Odette had been sauntering through the parking lot, her coat swinging behind her as she hummed to herself beneath her breath. She didn’t have a car, didn’t see the point when she could just get people to drive her around but she did stop when she saw a familiar female crumble to the ground. Clicking her tongue as she approached her. “Surely the Doctors told you not to walk on it.” She said simply as she stood over the female, not even moving to help her. “or are you ignoring their advice too?” She queried.
Whilst Saige had never minded attention–in fact, it fueled her–the sort of attention she was receiving was…entirely too stuffy. Ever since she had fallen down the abandoned slope, she had been babied. The school had given her the week off (provided somebody would bring her schoolwork at the end of the day and she essentially had to teach herself) and her friends, whom she loved very much, had all treated her as a newborn. She had half-expected them to swaddle her, in all honesty, and it was exhausting. Being stuck in her dorm was exhausting–and thus, finally coming to a night where she hadn’t received texts letting her know that whomever was coming over–Saige made her escape.
The escape was not graceful, nor particularly sneaky, as she could only go so quick with a knee brace constricting her movements–but she had made it halfway across the student parking lot that separated all the halls before bumping into somebody, which in turn, caused the girl to stumble back and attempt to regain her own balance as her knee gave out. “Aw fuck,” Saige stated as her ass landed on the pavement, knee and tailbone both throbbing, “I feel like a turtle on it’s back right now.” And despite the aching of her body, she let out a rather unladylike giggle, hand covering her mouth to stifle it.

“It’s fun when you’re not part of it. But I also don’t know enough people here to be invested in their problems. From where I’m standing, they seem trivial and boring. Oh, for sure. There’s nothing worse than talking to a brick wall. You know that feeling when you walk into a warm room and drink hot chocolate after being outside in the cold for hours? That’s the vibe she gives off.”
“Sadly one of the downsides of being here since Freshmen year, I’ve come to know most the people in this place and the problems they have with their family.” Rolling her eyes as she remembers all the time she got caught up in people’s family drama even though she held no interest in any of it. “Oh, I know what you mean.” She said, though she despised people like that, who were overly cheery and bright. “I’m not a fan of hot chocolate myself, too fattening but I’m sure she is lovely.”

“He probably just wanted to get into your pants,” she joked with a grin, though there wasn’t anything vindictive about the way she spoke the words. “I’m surprisingly picky about my shoes, which is about the only thing I’m picky about. I usually go with the more comfortable choice when it pertains to clothing. Ooh, now I wanna see these new coats and dresses. You can put on a little fashion show.” She chuckled, although she was genuinely curious to see what Odette had purchased, given her love of fashion in general. “I’m glad I went, although it took a little convincing from Max. Shopping in Paris definitely beats most places, however,” she agreed, thinking of the times her mother had dragged her shopping when they’d visited. “I didn’t have anything specific in mind, but there is this one dress I’ve been working on and honestly, I think you’d be the perfect model for it.”
“Oh, I know he does.” Odette laughed, though she would never tell anyone that he had very succeeded in getting what he wanted from the blonde but still kept coming back for more. “I do love my shoes, I think I have about ten pairs of stilettos that I’ve only worn once.” She giggled, shrugging her shoulders innocently. Odette had always been very picky about her clothing choices, only ever allowing herself to wear the best and what made her look the best. “A fashion show sounds divine, I’m especially eager to show off this Burberry coat that I purchased. I already have in mind what dress I want to wear with it.” She confessed, the coat had been an impulsive buy but one she didn’t regret. “Paris is known as the fashion capital and for good reason, my grandmother still lives there and has always had a passion for fashion.” She admitted, though she resented how she always picked out Odette’s clothing choices whenever she was forced to visit the old coot. “I’d be more than happy to model it for you! Just tell me when and where.”

“Well, none of you missed out on much anyways. It was mostly just a lot of family drama that I luckily managed to stay out of. I don’t know why they would invite the families of a bunch of people who don’t like their families. Yeah, she’s amazing. Izaiah could be described as overly friendly, a little like my sister. Katya is like… hot chocolate? Does that make sense. She’s nice, but in a way that makes you feel warm.”
“I do love a little family drama though.“ Odette admitted with a small giggle, shrugging her shoulders. Apart of her was almost sad that she missed the mess that was no doubt the family visits. “I’m not above overly friendly people, I’d prefer that to someone who wasn’t talkative.” Frowning slightly at his comment before tilting her head. “I honestly have no idea what you mean.”
