For Lucanis Week organised by @datvcompanionweeks ♥

I think this is the moment Illario truly realised what he has done to Lucanis. The point of no return. Lucanis would never do that, not without Spite. That's why he takes a few seconds to react, and use blood magic to relent him. Not because he couldn't do it immediately, but because he was stunned. Caught by surprise. It wasn't in his plans.

This scene captures both the will of vengeance — for everything Illario did to Lucanis and Spite; the Ossuary, Zara, all the lies and half truths... but also the forgiveness for his actions. It will take a while, but they'll heal from it. Grow even stronger.

Illario lost everything. His reputation, the trust people gave him, the title he's wanted his entire life. But he never lost his cousin. Not really.
