My first real girlfriend made me watch Wynonna Earp with her 4 years ago and I instantly loved it. That relationship is LONG over but I watched the show religiously throughout highschool. And now both Highschool and Wynonna are almost over and honestly I feel pretty emotional about both.

IM PRO-DUMBASS NICOLE. HER STRENGTH IS FROM HER KINDNESS AND LOYALTY AND THATS GOOD!

(Nicole always wanted to help people but i firmly belive it took YEARS and big HUGE mistakes to teach her that she needs a plan to actually help people)

Throughout Wynonna Earp, the show doesn’t really reveal a lot about Nicole when she was younger. Many people write her as a straight-A student, but there is far too much evidence to the contrary for this to be plausible. Instead of fitting into the ‘top-student’ trope, she falls into the classic ‘dumbass’ mindset. Nicole Haught has canonically asked how fast trees grow, threw a very dangerous ring into the woods randomly, cannot comprehend the concept of ‘Yahtzee’, and admitted that she failed college. Not dropped out - failed, an unmistakable tribute to her innate dumbassery. However, dumbassery is not inherently a bad trait for a character, and Nicole tends to use her dumbassery to add to her charm. In this essay I will -

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how Nicole went from rookie cop who was a potential love interest to being half of the healthiest relationship on the show and the fucking SHERIFF of purgatory.

Survived a cult of bulshar killing at the age of 6

BBD covered it up

Compares talking to her parents to Waverly talking to Michelle (when they were not on good terms)

Feels as though she did not control her escape from the cult

Has a connection to bulshar's ring

Is and expert at deflecting and hiding emotions

Nicole survived a "fire" at age 6 and never mentions it

Y’all I don’t think you realize how important it was that even in the midst of panic and wanting the attention off of herself and Doc, Wynonna did NOT out Waverly. Instead she says “Waverly’s schtupping a cop” because she knew that was enough detail to surprise her mother and shift the focus off of herself.

She left the responsibility of telling Mama Earp that Waverly was dating a woman in the hands of the only person it should be in: Waverly’s.

Also the fact that Nicole is a cop is still the worst thing about her in Wynonna’s eyes and I love that :)

She is litterally anAngel

She was left over and over again by people who loved her

Nicole is her rock and she despretly needs stability

She believes in good people (but has learned when to give up)

Has had multiple identity issues through out her life

Worked her booty off to be the nicest person in purgatory because she needs for people to like her

Loves so many people and but tries her hardest not to let love blind her

Waverly earp had been abandoned so many times you cant convince me that she didn't have to reminder herself over and over again that she is loved
