I guess it's just like sometimes something deserves a few critical comments and that's very different from making a public spectacle of mocking something. Which is something that's just like uniquely degrading, I think. The psychology of a normal human brain is just not built for it in some sense. But it's kind of hard to tell where the tipping point is and also feels crazy good to have people hopping on the wagon to vindicate your opinion. And it's further complicated by the fact that certain posters can become emblematic of a particular kind of posting which gets popular and people get sick of. Every time I hear someone talk about how nurses are evil I just think abt the myriad posts abt how service workers should legally be able to maim customers because The Public is stupid. & it's the same impulse! The only difference is, ig, that ppl expect nurses to be nurturing and compassionate so when they aren't a bottomless well of motherly kindness they slate them as evil, whilst when a drive through employee is rude ppl are like ohhh understandable theyve had a long day doing a thankless job for little pay. Entitlement beats out empathy, and all that.

Glad they’re helpful. I recently found a journal entry from February that said “maybe I should delete this haterism gimmick blog” and, archivism-inclined that I am, I can’t bring myself to do it. Instead I’m posting a little less, and continuing to try and balance it out with posts about being kinder.
