❝You’re lost, aren’t you?❞ There was a smugness to that tone, a sharp contrast to the pity in those eyes.❝There’s no use trying to deny it, that map’s the wrong way up for starters.❞

Flowers. Not Tyrell. So enraptured by the woman’s beauty was she, that it took a moment for the name to sink in. A bastard of the Tyrell’s. Well, as far as Clarissa knew, she was a bastard too. ❝I’ve named him Tristan.❞ She offered the other woman a quiet smile, a little unnerved by the way she’d reached out to the child, though she did not pull away. ❝ That’s very kind of you ❞ Tightening her grasp on the bundle of blankets, Una took an unsteady step towards Clarissa, offering a hand.
Clarissa shook the woman’s hand, her smile nearly dropping when she heard the other’s surname. Thorne. That was a batard name, it had to be. But she still smiled regardless. Bastard or not, she wouldn’t turn the other away.
❝Una Thorne. And does this little fellow have a name?❞
She looked over at the sleeping baby, hesitating before reaching her hand out, brushing her fingers gently against the child’s forehead. A bastard with a child of her own. That couldn’t be an easy life.
❝I… Know a place where you can stay. You and your son will be alright. My mother had friends who can help.❞

❝Well-I suppose the temperature helps it fly better? ❞ What an odd man. She tilted her face to the side, trying to take a discrete look at his map. It dawned on her soon after. ❝You’re from across the wall. Of course it’s blank. People rarely cross over.❞
“Sky vessel? Oh! Right, yes. Sky vessel. I do indeed. I work on the coolest ship of them all.” He gave her his best convincing smile, trying his best to seem like he belonged here- until his face turned into a pout at her answer. “Seriously? No flux capacitors? I was sure there would be one somewhere around here…” With a consulting glance down at the papers in his hand, he was shuffling them around, moving his list to the back and pulling the map to the front. It dawned on him then, why she wouldn’t have the device. Turns out, he hadn’t exactly been looking at the map with the right side up. “Oh. That’s better… Wait- Hang on- Where am I? There’s nothing on that side of the map- I can’t be somewhere that doesn’t exist.”

Slowly it registered to Una that the woman was speaking. More importantly that she’d offered help. As well as a name.&, that it was customary to offer one in return. The noblewoman nodded eagerly, offering the woman a smile of her own as she held out a lone shaky hand. The other curled around her sleeping son protectively. ❝Lovely to meet you. I’m Una. Una-St❞
Her eyes widened violently, realising that she were on the verge of revealing her true name. Swallowing, Una directed her gaze to the floor, searching for a suitable foil. Her quick eyes landed upon the the wild brambles, spotting the sharp little spikes protruding from the stem of the bushes. ❝ Una Thorne. Thank you, any help you can offer would be wonderful.❞
At first, she didn’t know what to say. The woman before her was far more beautiful than any other she had seen, including women who would visit the lord’s home and were part of different families. If she dared to say any of this aloud, of course, and within hearing of the lady, she would be risking a slap to the face. Best to keep her thoughts to herself. Clarissa shook her head, giving the newcomer a gentle smile. She had to make her feel welcome, especially since she claimed to have gotten lost upon the road. When she caught sight of the child with her, she walked over to her, still smiling.
❝I’ll do what I can to help.❞
She was at a loss of what else to say, somewhat nervous to bring her inside right away. Perhaps she could direct her to the house of one of her mother’s friends. Surely they would take the woman in.
❝I’m Clarissa Flowers.❞

She beams in response, happy she seems to be getting somewhere with this one.
❝ That depends on what you want to buy. ❞
The word m i s t r e s s is particularly laden to her. She knows it doesn’t mean the same thing every time she runs into it, but all same she is attentive.
❝ How safe are your wares, then? ❞

❝ Ah… YOU don’t seem particularly threatening. ❞
❝I hope not. Can’t sell anything if I seem like a threat. That’s why my mistress has me speak to the customers. ❞ She chuckles, glancing conspiratorially at the old woman behind her, safely asleep.

For a bastard to be working at the castle of a minor lord with relations to the Tyrell family, someone would wonder what was going through the lord’s mind. Is the bastard his? His wife’s? But Clarissa didn’t have a care of clue as to who her father was, and knew that her birth mother was long dead. The lady of the house had no care for a Flowers, and had tried to get rid of her early on in her stay. Yet she had proven her worth, and as she had no knowledge of her father, could not claim anything from the childless lord who gave her work. Even if she knew, Clarissa had no desire for any titles or land she could obtain from the man.
So when she goes outside just for some air and to get away from the lady of the house, she’s surprised and a bit wary when she hears someone speak. No one else was out here. Right? ❝Who are you? No use hiding. Come out.❞ Best to speak as if she wasn’t a bastard and a member of this house. If that would even work.
A girl. the voice was a girl’s. Una shuddered with relief, her shoulders slumping as she removed the cloak that shielded Tristan. She had made it then. Not that she expected house Tyrell would offer her shelter. The Stormholds had been murdering each other since the dawn of time to attain power within their own seat. Why should it bother any outsider? Besides, their most likely action would be to take her son from her & hold him hostage, either as the heir or the next victim of her brothers feuds. ❝I’-I’m not hiding, I think I’ve got lost along the road.❞ She breathed out the lie, holding the cradle tightly as she stepped out from behind the scrub. Her eyes landed on the young woman, dazzled by the relative beauty she found there before she found enough sense to stop gawking & murmur, ❝please, will you help me?❞

“Yes! Course you can. Well- alright. Probably can’t but it never hurt to ask around eh?” The Doctor mumbled, more to the long list of supplies he was looking over than to the woman. “Do you know where I could pick up a few flux capacitors? I’m trying to recreate the DeLorean.”

❝ That sounds like an engine part. Do you work for one of the sky vessels? ❞
He certainly wasn't the Capitan. & even if he were, why hadn't he gone to a fence for help? Something was very strange about this one. More to the point, what was a Delorean? It sounded ominously like a weapon. ❝We don’t sell that sort of thing here. ❞

“ I do not need one, I would like one.” Because sometimes the loneliness she felt was too great, too overpowering, and every lonely monster could use a companion, at least on occasion. “Magic has nothing to do with it. You don’t have any then?”
