"Of course it will," Yasmin assured him. "You need to get us all seated near the front, and then you can relax." Obviously, there were other people in the show so that wouldn't be entirely possible, but even a couple of people near the front would help. "You get on well with your co-stars?" she questioned after a moment. "Because that definitely helps."
" 𝐢 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐬𝐤, just to make sure i have an estimate on the people who are going. i'm a little nervous too, and i feel like seeing people that i know will help that first night. " it was true, he did perform better in front of friends and family. and he wanted to make sure that the first night he'd have as many of them taking those seats he reserved for them. " thank you. i'm going to make you proud. "

Ben's nose wrinkled at her comments, but he laughed moments later. It sounded about right, honestly, a memory from somewhere in the back of his mind, all those early 2000's high school movies where that's all the teenagers ever did. Don't forget the whipped cream. "Is it weird I don't like whipped cream?" he queried after a moment, more laughter following. "I could never be one of those people." With his coffee in hand now, he took a sip, a light smile crossing his features as the coconut hit his taste buds. "Not a fan of coconut or allergic?" he questioned thoughtfully.
“I wouldn’t blame them for that either.” Imogen giggled, a shrug of her shoulders at the question. “You’re asking the wrong person, although back in England when I was growing up and like Starbucks was new, teenagers used to order the most elaborate things you could imagine. Like a super, double, creamy, mocha, half shot, skim, chocolate chip frappe or something. More like a ice cream than a coffee.” Pulling a face because even talking about something like that right now made her feel pretty fucking unwell. Eyes widening, breaking out into a loud laugh at the mention of it being the guys on wall street. “Wouldn’t that be something! Like they’re all wandering around with their creamy little coffees, a sight to behold. Coconut milk? Oh thank god I didn’t take a sip, that would have gone so badly!” @oftatteredwings

Tae glanced back towards her at her words, mouth turning down into a frown. "If that's what it takes to get a drink, find another bartender —- or better yet, find another bar... a better one." It was certainly making him reconsider the band taking any more gigs there. Behaviour like that needed to be stamped out as quick as possible and if the owner wasn't bothering, that told him all he needed to know. "Two beers coming up, though," he added.
She hadn't even mean for him to actually pay for it, just order it since she had been waiting. He seemed like he wasn't an ass as their initial interaction suggested so PJ refrain from eating him alive and just sighed and simply said, "I was gonna get a beer. I just wanted the bartender to look at me so I could order. Guess I should have wore a lower cut shirt." Looking down at her cleavage as she said that, then back at the other. "I'm loosing my touch." PJ hooked a finger over her collar trying to pull it down a little but no luck so she pouted.

"So long as someone's getting something good out of it," Rhys replied with an easy smile. Normally, he really wouldn't mind and would have happily had the second drink, but with an early surgery in the morning, he knew it would turn into something he'd severely regret. "Okay, we can work with that." He took a moment to think, expression becoming thoughtful as he made a decision. "How do you feel about espresso martinis?" Probably a mistake because he wouldn't sleep, but he could never really say no to them.
“You can almost certainly interest me in your second two for one cocktail, thank you. Happy hour might be dangerous for you but it’s looking like a blessing for me.” Catalina grinned as she turned to the man standing next to her at the bar, thrilled as was obvious by the expression written all over her face. “But the rule is I have to have the same one as you, as in whatever you’re ordering, make it two. So we can be matching.” A perimeter she didn’t really need to set for herself but Lina was a bit of a people pleaser so she thought that might in some way appease herself to him. @oftatteredwings

[ paul rudd, cis man, he/him ] — spotted in the streets of brooklyn, it’s ANDREW “ANDY” BLOOM. they have lived in the city for 53 YEARS, working as the OWNER AND A VETERINARIAN AT PURRRFECTLY POISED. the 53 year old will probably be seen around BROOKLYN HEIGHTS a lot, seeing as that’s where they live. people say they can be a bit DEMANDING and IMPATIENT, but friends know them to be CARING and GOOFY. you know for sure you’ve found them when you’ve come across CLOTHES COVERED IN DOG HAIR, NIGHTS SPENT BURIED IN A GOOD BOOK, AN UNWAVERING POSITIVE ATTITUDE. welcome to brooklyn, it’s been waiting for you!
IN A NUTSHELL; clothes covered in dog hair, nights spent buried in a good book, an unwavering positive attitude, liking things his way, a couch with more cushions than sitting space, espresso on tap, late night dog walks, a master of the rubik's cube, sneakers with suits, ice cream for breakfast.
tw: cancer, death.
ABOUT.
Name: Andrew Bloom Nicknames: Andy Age: Fifty-three Date of Birth: 12th November 1971 Birthplace: Staten Island, New York, USA Occupation: Owner/Veterinarian at Purrrfectly Poised Romantic/Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual/heteromantic Family: One son ( aged 29 ), six dogs.
Andy was born in the seventies, to parents still caught up in their sixties lifestyle. As a youngster, he was often in the care of his grandparents, who owned a farm on the outskirts of the city. It wasn’t long until he grew used to it, spending the majority of his time away from school helping his grandfather with the animals, feeding them and grooming them. It quickly became a passion and even when he was old enough to take care of himself, he chose to head to the farm at weekends and in the evenings, having no interest in doing much else with his free time. He had friends, of course he did, but the animals were the ones who received his full attention. Maybe it was a little strange, but what was wrong with having a passion? Besides, animals were better company.
Upon leaving high school, he made the decision to go into veterinary medicine, studying at the closest college he could find, the plan being to study until he was at least twenty-five. Once his mind was set upon something, he kept at it until he reached the goal -— usually.
During college he met the woman who was to become his wife, Marie, and found himself more than a little caught up, falling hard. At twenty-three, much to his dismay, he found himself becoming a father. The news came as a surprise, the pair both caught up in their studies, and it was certainly classed as a wake-up call for him. She was forced to drop out of college in the end, but Andy kept at it, determined to get himself a good job at the end of it so he could support his newly found family.
When their son turned two, the pair finally got married. A small wedding, no frills, only close friends and family present. They moved in with Marie’s parents, neither one of them having the money to find their own home just yet, and he continued on with his studies. At twenty-five, he made the decision to continue on and gain himself a PhD, so began working part-time at the local veterinary clinic alongside his studies. He was twenty-nine when he finally became a full-time veterinarian at the clinic.
Life was pretty easy after that. With their son now seven years old, the Bloom family had finally moved into their own home. Things couldn’t have been better for them.
Unfortunately, that rang a little too true and in early 2010, a little after New Years; Marie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Several months of chemo and surgery followed, but it was in vain, and by the summer she was told the cancer was terminal. They managed another six months together as a family, living life to the fullest and trying their hardest not to focus on the bad things. Holidays and more holidays followed, Marie even chose to go sky-diving, telling Andy that she wanted to live before she couldn’t anymore. He understood, or tried to at the very least, allowing her to do whatever she wanted to.
In the following December, they lost her, two weeks before Christmas. The holiday season has never really been the same and the Blooms rarely go out of their way to celebrate now.
The first few years that followed were difficult, fights often breaking out between father and son, neither one of them knowing how to deal. In fact, it wasn't until the youngest Bloom left home that the two really seemed to get along again.
Andy spent a lot of time trying to move on with his life after Marie, but he struggled ( of course he did ). Relationships were almost impossible and to this day he's still finding it difficult to settle with anyone else.
Work, however, is going from strength to strength, having opened his own veterinary clinic ten years ago. Purrfectly Poised has made quite the name for itself, too, in the best possible way.

"Makes sense." Yasmin chuckled and nodded her head, taking a sip of her drink. She was kind of envious of the close-knit relationship the other Torres' had, considering her own with her siblings. They'd never been close, it had always been a bit chaotic, in fact. "Because you're overthinking it?" She shrugged, that was her conclusion at the very least. "Of course, not like I have anything going on other than work." Her brows lifted then. "You're fucking an old man? I think you need to explain."
"Well, they're lucky. I'm the one who turned up here after all." PJ pointed out since she was the last one to leave home. First to Louisiana and now here, but it all happened in the last six months or so. "If it's not an issue, why does it feel like I'm starting over?" Moving to New York had put some things into perspective for PJ. She chuckled at her continuing her own mousetrap joke. "That's be great if you could, Yas. I need a place of my own. Plus, I'm fucking an old man. Mari would have a heart attack if she found out." Okay, Beau wasn't an old man, but he was older than her and she wasn't about to bring him over to fuck on his sister's couch for sure.

"Aren't most bowls practical?" The smile on Tae's face became a playful smirk. "But kind of pointless if it wasn't. Even decorative bowls are practical, right?" He was being annoying on purpose now, which was nothing new for him, all things considered. "Yeah, I think this'll do..." he added after another moment's thought." Glancing back at the other man, he offered a light smile. "I'm not surprised they sound similar, though, I'm convinced all moms are the same deep down."
“ She sounds like my mom, ” Sebni let out a brief chuckle, remembering how his own mother was like that as well. It's been a while since they were in the same place together. Maybe he should give her a call. Maybe he should give her a bowl, too. He gave the bowl a closer look, squinting at it, “ Well, bowls are a very practical gift, and I don't know about your mom, but mine appreciates practicality. A lot. As far as bowls go, this one's quite practical. ”

Taking the pretzel from Cillian, Ben was soon tucking into it, taking a bite and glancing over to the other as he spoke. It wasn't quite what he was expecting, but the offer made him smile. "I have plans now," he responded, the smile brightening as he handed the snack back to him. "Like I'd miss that. Gotta see your big break, right?" Now they just needed to sort out his, so he could finally be back on the road to getting somewhere with his life.
𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 while they continued to walk. having a little walk with the other really brought a bit of nostalgia to leon. a reminder of the past. and how much he missed having these moments with people he cared about. he looked over at ben and he smiled. " so i was curious. you're not doing anything april 10th, yeah? " he asked. " because i need you to keep that date open. i saved a couple rows for friends and family for opening night, and i want you to be there. "

"Definitely not." Rhys's response was decisive, more laughter slipping from his lips. A moment later he turned his attention to his cocktail, although he was hiding a playful smirk behind the rim of his glass, his brows lifting in sheer amusement. Robbie's reaction wasn't entirely lost on him, but he chose not to comment on it, saving his dignity... at least, for now, anyway. "No one wants that," he added with a shake of his head. "How was your day anyway? You have any stories to tell?"
Robbie's eyes opened wide and the suggestion and even wider at the wiggling brows, almost letting out the most girly giggle but he covered his mouth half way trying to let out some sort of laugh at least. It wasn't his proudest moment, he never did well when someone so obnoxiously gorgeous teased him, but he took a sip of his drink and hoped the darkness of the bar hid how bright red he felt himself getting. "Well, thanks. That's really nice of you." He cleared his throat and put the cocktail down, looking around the bar until his heart finally calmed down so he could turn back to Rhys and speak again without his voice cracking. "You are right, she needs her sleep. We can't have her falling asleep in the middle of an open heart surgery right?" He chuckled again, hoping the awkward moment finally passed.

Yasmin's expression said it all really. Arts and crafts weren't exactly her thing either, at least, these types of arts anyway —- she was much better at the performing arts. It was never going to change. Still, it didn't hurt to attempt it every now and again for a bit of fun. It seemed they were both in the same frame of mind right now. "You're not alone," she assured him with a laugh as she approached the desk ( might as well get this over and done with ). His words brought on another laugh and she shook her head. "I'm going to go for none," she answered. "Distractions can't be a good thing when we're trying to do this, right?"
Sebni immediately cracked up at that idea, imagining his own creation failing to hold up to his own ideal, “ Yeah, that's probably what's going to happen to my coffee mug, to be honest. I've never been that great with arts and crafts unfortunately. ” He wasn't lying. Despite having a great appreciations for arts and crafts, his hands weren't made for them. Or maybe he just got too discouraged as a young boy, when his father laughed at his woven basket, a personal project he had been proud of until the reaction from his old man. Maybe if he didn't stop trying, practicing, he would have gotten even better. That's a lot of maybes. “ What kind of distraction would you need? ”
