wait i do feel like elaborating on this cause they are doing a group work right now and I have time.

it's a workshop for language teachers at universities (at a big conference for language teachers at universities) and I just asked them the question: Would the world be a better place if we all had a device in our ear that translates everything simultaenously?

and guess what came out of the discussion: No (with nuance, of course.) And that's the fucking baseline of the whole discussion, if they said "yes", I could have ended the workshop right then and there. then you just have to wait a few years and let the fuckers at Silicon Valley do their thing.

There is worth in being able to do things yourself, as OP said, and you should defend it!!!!

hey so i've read so many posts saying good for germany but like, my friends, no, no nothing's good for germany. stop saying that. stop projecting your us-americanist election view onto us. we don't have a two party system. just because you think afd "didn't win" doesn't mean they lost. they gained so so so many votes it's really concerning, and frightening. we had the highest voter turnout since unification, and 20.8% of those people voted a fascist party. nothing about this is a win.

the cases/plot in the game were ridiculously bad, but when I stopped taking them seriously I had a blast because the dialogues were STELLAR
