My biggest flex in continuing to learn French is when I’m having a convo with a native speaker and I mention being American and theyre shocked to find out I’m not from a francophone family. Also that my son speaks like it’s his first language.

One of my biggest pet peeves in tv/movies is when a villain is established as a ruthless killer who kills indiscriminately with little to no remorse and yet for some unexplained reason when they cross paths with the protagonist they only injure/ knock them out/hold them hostage….basically anything but kill them.

They’ll show an antagonist double tap a kindergartener because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time but when they finally get their hands on the main character that they’ve been trying to kill for 7 straight episodes, they need to torture them or whatever plot device keeps the good guy from dying.
