on how the strawhats met (bc of luffy)

luffy was born in brazil, and was raised by dadan (a local bar owner) and shanks (being part of a local mafia) with ace (son of the head of the local mafia in question, ie. roger) and sabo, whose parents were living in brazil at that time after roger’s death, shanks stayed a couple of years more; sabo’s parents went back to great britain at some point, bringing (more like kidnapping) their son with them

shanks left not much later too, and at the first oppotunity ace went to portugal, where he knew his (very sick) mother was still living; he ofc brought luf w him, 15yo at that time

in the plane, luffy met zoro who - naturally - got lost on his way back to japan; they became good friends almost instantly, and began chatting and discord calling each other pretty often

ace became a firefighter from a young age, and when he himself was old enough, luffy followed in his steps; at some point a children trafic ring is demantled in spain (yes, doflamingo was involved), and many people were sent to help (firefighters as well as childcare workers from france and portugal) and that’s how nami met luffy

(bc of his work zoro was there too, since his boss’ main goal is to throw doffy in jail)

following those events, sabo, having fled england thanks to his partner koala, invited ace and luffy to stay some days in france w him; bc of his new job, sabo encountered usopp, with whom he talks pretty often, so obviously he presented him to his bros

usopp being bff with vivi (both of them living in egypt), that’s how they all met (via discord at first)

since nami lives in paris, luffy went to reunite with her and met sanji (she basically was in his beauty salon when luffy found her) and chopper (nami now works with him) on the way

that merry band of misfits created the largest discord server (called ur queer friendly neighborhood or smth) and became all very good friends; they all agreed to take a couple of weeks off together to travel to germany, and go to the - you guessed it - oktoberfest

zoro slept in and luffy emptied a bucket full of water on his head bc we’re late for the festival dammit; also älskling means darling in swedish

- after the Fast Food Night luf came back to the oktoberfest and the strawhats + the heart pirates (now bff) had fun and ate all the food and drank all the booze; art coming soon

- the heart pirates helped them remember some german words (just in case) and - bc they are bastards - shachi & penguin told luf schnuckiputzi meant friend (since luf couldn’t pronounce it as a whole it’s just schnucki) SO obviously luf decided it would become law’s nickname bc of luffy reasons (he likes him a lot)

- well, it means sweetie pie, and it’s actually a pet name

- thus, after a couple of days when law joins them at the oktoberfest luf  immediately calls him schnucki; german people all around giggle and law blushes like hell

- ofc luf calls him 53 times/min and shachi & penguin are wheezing

- (anyway when bepo tells luffy the actual meaning, he just shrugs “i like that nickname, and he’s cute so. win-win”)

penguin & shachi told him it meant friend in german and luf decided it was his nickname now (it actually means sweetie and law is flustered to no end bc luf just won’t stop using it)

shachi may or may not have pierced law's septum (he did). like while he mainly works as a tattoo artist he's a piercing artist as well (penguin trained a bit with him for a time thus he knows how to pierce, mostly the soft parts tho)

- traffy never apologized for being rude (bepo did) however he presented himself properly to luf, who beamed at him (again)

- "you rly don't look like a firefigther tho" "oh yeah? here you are, judging others while looking more like a junkie than a surgeon" law almost SNAPPED again but. well. fair point (smol guy big mouth, very nice)

- since luf was hungry traf asked bepo if he could eat something and here they went to their fave fast food (yes at like 2am)

- law drove his (yellow) car while bepo was texting the heart to join them there; the music was loud and luf was louder

- they arrived and luffy kinda decided he fancied law enough to 1) invade his personal space without a care in the world (law didn't like that) 2) steal his fries like the ruffian he is (law really didn't like that)

- (anyway the heart are no fool & knew plain as day that law was having fun)

- also luf thinks bepo looks like an actual bear and asked a couple of times if penguin truly has eyes

- at 8am law had to get back to work (yes he spent his night with them instead of sleeping) and luf made him promise to join them & meet his own friends during the oktobertfest with the largest smile ever

- (how could traf say no to that, really)

it’s only been 3,5 hours since Meeting Strawhat and law is pretty sure he’s going either to kill him or fall in love

more context regarding previous post:

- luffy & his friends (zoro, sanji, usopp, vivi, nami, chopper) took a couple of weeks off to go to the oktoberfest in munich, germany together

- in the plane they met robin who's a flight attendant (also the pilot was franky) and became friends

- after arriving in munich they enjoyed the festival for a couple of days and 1) met Brook who went from austria to play there as an amateur musician and 2) met bepo, shachi, penguin & ikkaku

- ofc they all became bff

- at some point bepo ate some fish bc he loves it (although he's allergic) and as a firefighter luffy helped handling the situation

- he insisted to accompany him to the closest hospital where law actually works as a surgeon (heart pirates are bff in this au too)

- meanwhile shachi gave law a call to tell him what happened; law was about to leave (he was done with his patients) & thus went back to look for his best friend

- when law arrived he saw one (1) stranger awkwardly speaking english with bepo and was already planning to snap in german when said stranger beamed at him and asked if he was bepo's doctor

ok so about this au:

- takes place in the real world

- is based on sbs real world facts such as given by Oda (jobs, native countries/langages etc.)

- will feature a whole lot of languages and since i'm in no way an expert please don't hesitate to tell me if i'm wrong

- since everybody comes from a different place i had to find a way to reunite them and this is exactly why i find this au so enjoyable

- (bc who am i kidding some of Oda's choices are lame af at best)
