I liked Sam in Danny Phantom just fine as a kid, so I was surprised to see people kinda hate her now. Even a friend of mine in real life has mentioned hating her.
The reasons people dislike her are valid, but I guess a lot of her flaws weren't too noticeable to me as a kid or I just didn't care. And as a little girl, I just kinda liked any girl characters in a show, especially if it's like a trio and there's only one girl.
Now, looking back, she did have some faults, like being pushy and forcing her own shit on other people. But I guess as a kid, I didn't think too critically about it. And since Sam was just a kid, I don't expect her behavior to be perfect.
Still, I didn't appreciate the love stuff where they had the two openly love each other (I think they kissed at the end of the show). Same with Jimmy Neutron. I didn't like it when the love stuff was overt with the two were official couples. I preferred them bickering and hiding that they might like each other.
Honestly, I don't think kids care that much about romance outside of like Disney princess movies. Disney and Hamtaro are the only times I actually liked it. In like Nickelodeon shows, I didn't care for it. I think kids mostly just like funny jokes, not really romance. I think romance would be more appealing to teens honestly.

Wait, I guess I did like it in Hey Arnold though. The girl had a whole shrine and it was hilarious. But I heard they made them an official couple in The Jungle Movie, and that I don't think I'd enjoy.

Not sure what it came out, but I think I watched A Monster in Paris around 2017-2018 on Netflix. I liked it even if it was clearly a Pixar/Disney knockoff. Animation and story were decent, and that song they sang on stage was pretty good.
So yeah, I liked it, until I remember that big boy was a FLEA. A GIANT FLEA. He would have had to drink blood, so you or any of your pets could end up being it's lunch once it got hungry enough.
So unless he went vegan, they probably should have tried to kill him while they had the chance instead of save him. Should have protected their pets and given him a glass of Advantage while they had the chance.
Lord knows that if he was still small and he was on their pets, they would have tried to kill him. He shouldn't get special treatment just because he's giant now. If anything, he's more dangerous now. Sorry dude, gotta protect my cats.

I loved Tangled the Series when it aired, but looking back, all the Cassandra being evil stuff was kinda bad writing.
I remember in an early episode, a character said something about (I think) the moonstone manipulating Cassandra and putting thoughts into her head (can't find the episode source), but the rest of the show shows Cassandra not being mind controlled at all. That makes her ultimately fully responsible for her actions.
I think it would have been better if she was sorta manipulated or controlled by the stone. Then we could still like Cassandra and not blame her for all the crazy stuff she did.
Cass literally tries to murder Rapunzel a couple times, so there is no forgiving a character like that. You certainly couldn't forgive a person like that in real life. You could never feel safe after that. Some people online try to defend her, but it's just bad writing and messed up.

And of course she only apologized after she lost the stone. Yikes.
And Cassandra just lacked common sense a lot of the time in her evil arc. She blamed Rapunzel for the Gothel raising her even though she was kidnapped as a baby. Even Raps pointed out that this was bullshit. Dude.
Not to mention Cass seemed smarter than that in earlier episodes. Cass was too smart to act like that. It's bad writing.
So yeah, great show, but Cass got ruined.

I haven't actually seen the live action Lilo and Stitch, but my friends have told me about it, and the ending seems really weird. Nani surrenders Lilo to the state and goes to college in California and Lilo lives with the neighbors, and though the whole plot was Nani trying to keep Lilo.
When you think about it, it's not just too terribly bad. College is only a couple years, and Nani could teleport over to visit her every day (though I don't get why she doesn't live with her then and just teleport to class) and also still get an education. So yeah, it's not just too terribly bad, more like just weird. I'm not sure what the point of it was. Maybe they thought the movie wouldn't be worth watching if it was too similar to the animated one.
So yeah, Lilo and Stitch. Probably only gonna watch a few clips and not the whole thing.

I saw this video about why Mertle from Lilo and Stitch bullied Lilo, and everyone said they thought she was jealous of Lilo, but I honestly think it was more that Lilo was just an easy target. Lilo was the weird kid and had trouble with social skills, and those are the kids that get singled out for bullying. Bullies tend to pick up on which kid doesn't fit it and single out that kid as their target.
Still, Mertle was a little jerk, and Lilo being weird doesn't excuse anything. I always hated her as a kid watching Lilo and Stitch. And dang, that hula teacher did squat to stop the bullying.

I love When Marnie was There, probably more for the art than necessarily the story, but there was always something kinda lacking about it that I can't quite put my finger on even now. Which is weird because it was very true to the source material, and I liked the book just fine.
I think it was something about the later half of the film. The beginning is what made an impression on me, but something about the later half made me start to lose interest in it. I dunno, maybe it was too slow, or boring, or meandered a bit. Who knows?
Regardless, the visuals are what really stood out to me. I loved drawing at that age, and I used this movie as a drawing reference. I drew girls with pretty dresses, so this movie was a perfect drawing reference.
If anyone has any ideas on what exactly it was that was lacking about this movie, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I loved Warioware Touched! as a kid, and I loved the character Ashley and her mini games. They were so much fun, and the character was cute. Back then, it seemed like games had almost all male characters, so I was so happy when games had actual girls.
Ashley was so cool. She was a witch and had a stuffed bunny and alien sidekick and everything. Little girls eat that stuff up. She seemed so awesome when I was a little kid. I even remember making a drawing based off of her.

She kinda reminds me of Sabrina from Pokemon, only she has a bunny instead of a doll that looks like a little girl. And in her song that plays when you play the minigames, there's a part about how she wants friends, much like Sabrina.

And this. This is adorable.

There was also another girl character named Mona. I don't think she made as much an impression on me as Ashley did though. I think I mostly just loved Mona's minigames.

I watched Danny Phantom - Phantom Planet as a kid, but while it was ok, I wasn't crazy about it. I still watched it because I liked the show, but it wasn't all that entertained by it, the same way I wasn't crazy about season 3.
Apparently, a lot of other kids had a similar reaction to it. We all watched it regardless, but it was kinda forgettable and nobody really loved it. I remember the other two movies, like the one with Dark Danny and the one where they went on a road trip, and I genuinely loved those. They were great, especially considering they were just TV movies.
A lot of people criticize how Jazz, Sam, and Tucker react to Danny giving up his powers, but I feel like it's pretty realistic considering the characters are just teens. Kids aren't always going to be great at communicating, and they're going to be immature sometimes.
I say this, but it bugs me that they were perfectly happy hanging out with Danny and being friends before he had ghosts powers, yet it's like they think all that is boring after he loses his powers. Assuming the kids don't really age in the show (as most of these shows are like), Danny was a normal kid like just a year ago or so (Google says he doesn't age).
If he's only had ghost powers for mere months, then it's too soon to have forgotten what it's like to hang out with Danny as a normal kid. Besides, they do do normal kid things in some episodes, so they shouldn't act like they had no life outside of him fighting ghosts.
I do think his parents finding out he had ghost powers was kinda unnecessary. They found out in the road trip episode and talking to Jazz and processed all that already, only to end with Danny making them forget all about it. That movie handled it better than this one. If they wanted the parents and world to find out, they should have just not made them forget at the end of the other movie.

Path of Radiance was the first Fire Emblem game I ever played. I later played a lot of the older games, like Sword of Seals and a lot of the other ones.

Later on, toward the end of my Fire Emblem phase, Fire Emblem Awakening came out. I never actually played since I didn't have a 3DS, so I watched endless Youtube videos of it so I could enjoy the story and the characters and their supports and all of that fun stuff.
I was surprised to find out just recently that apparently Fire Emblem was a dying franchise at the time, and that this game popularized the series and saved it. I only found out when I got online and wondered why Path of Radiance was so expensive now, and that's when I found people explaining all of this.
It's crazy to think that while I was playing all these Fire Emblem games they were actually really niche. I remember Fire Emblem characters being in Super Smash Brothers as a little kid, so I guess I just assumed it was a popular series.

I remember back when Once Upon a Time did Frozen for half a season. I actually started watching OUAT because Frozen was gonna be in it and it's how I even found out about the show.
Honestly, I enjoyed it. Now, the back and forth with the flashbacks and the Storybrook stuff was kinda confusing, but it was still good.

Ingrid was kinda both the best and the worst part of the season. I think her actress's acting was great, and sometimes I love her character, but she was also kinda unhinged. The whole magical sisters thing was bizarre. That was really the worst thing about her. I'm sure she'd want new sisters emotionally, but wanting to literally replace them with new sisters in real life was weird. Did she think they were gonna move in with her and have sleepovers and do each other's nails? They could just literally drive away from her in a car and ignore her.
It honestly sucked that she didn't manage to just build a new family with Anna and Elsa, but Anna got paranoid and Ingrid kinda turned against her. Not blaming Anna, because Ingrid was the one that went all evil instead of just talking it out.

One thing I really loved was this scene where the sisters sought help from Rumple. Rumple was actually really nice and supportive in this conversation. He tried to tell her to take lessons from him instead of getting rid of or hiding her powers. Then he tried to tell her that she had all the love she needed already, and warned her that doing a deal came with a price. And he even tried to tell her that the gloves were really just placebo. He gave her the best advice anybody could, and still gave her things to help when she insisted she needed something to control her powers. He was just awesome in this scene.
Some people have said they OUAT wrote a better Frozen 2 than Disney. I don't know if I agree or not, but I still appreciate what OUAT was trying to do. It had some elements that I liked. I think it being live action and not animated just kinda bugged me though. I mean, Frozen 2 is animated and it's actually Frozen whether you like the story or not.
I like how Disney used the same idea about the parents going off to find a way to help Elsa. I wouldn't say they copied OUAT, because even many Frozen Fanfiction had the same idea. It's just an idea that comes into a lot of people's heads. I did think the parents in Frozen 2 were more sympathetic than they were here. The parents in OUAT wanted to actually get rid of Elsa's powers, and even Elsa was kinda shocked to find out this was true. The parents in Frozen 2 wanted to help her. Agnarr even said "we keep going, for Elsa."
I dunno, maybe I just don't want OUAT mixed in with my Frozen.
I did like Elsa's interactions with David and Hook though. I enjoyed that at least.
I can't really think of a Frozen 2 idea myself. I'm not a story writer. I think Disney fucked up Frozen 2, but I can't think of a better alternative.
Honestly, I wanna see the king and queen alive. I want them to survive the shipwreck and come home. And judging by all the Frozen Fanfictions that do just that, I'd say other people do, too. I want to see the King and Queen alive and see Elsa being able to control her powers and be happy.
Ah... I just wish we got a proper Frozen 2.

Avatar the Last Airbender was great and unique show. It was anime-inspired, but American that it doesn't quite look like an anime. For example, their noses are more detailed and their hair doesn't have as much light reflecting on it like most anime has.
I also like how it didn't really have the problematic stuff that a lot of anime has. It has a couple of adult jokes here and there, but it goes over the kids' heads so it's not really a bad influence or anything. A lot of anime I watched as a teen had overt stuff that kinda ruined otherwise good anime for me, but Avatar is just a good show with nothing problematic.
Avatar is also geared toward a younger age group. Anime tends to be geared towards teenagers, but this show was for younger kids, kind of like how Pokemon and Hamtaro were. I like this, and I think it's a nice change. I think it also helps the show focus on telling a good story rather than focusing too much on romantic relationships that way a lot of YA stuff kinda does. I know the Legend of Korra had this problem. It seemed to be geared more towards teens and I felt it focused too much on relationships and the love triangle.
I got into Avatar a little later than the target age group. I was in my early or mid-teens. I was still young enough to enjoy the show though. I had gotten turned off of anime because of the problematic stuff, so Avatar was kinda a happy medium for me. And I felt like it had a good story and was more enjoyable than the shows for really little kids, like Spongebob or Fairly Odd Parents. I think Avatar was for slightly older kids, like maybe 9-12. I'd say the other two were maybe for kids around 5-12. I think around 11-12 is when kids would start to outgrow these two shows.
The show was also originally made in English. It wasn't like anime where they make an English dub later on. Because of this, there were no issues with anything being lost in translation, nor were there issues with the voices like there were often with anime dubbed into English. I liked subbed anime just fine, but it's nice to be able to just listen and not be reading subtitles the whole time, and it's nice to not have to worry about the subtitles possibly being inaccurate. And I feel like you miss some things on screen when you're having to look down at subtitles the whole time.
So yeah, Avatar the Last Airbender was such a perfect of anime and Western animation. It was the best of both worlds and a show I could enjoy when I got to where I didn't really want to watch anime anymore.

I always liked Brave as a kid, so I was surprised to learn that it was considered a bit of a flop.
When I heard the criticism though, it made perfect sense. The mom turning into a bear seems to be the issue, and when people talk about the film, they say they loved the beginning but barely remember anything after the mom turning into a bear.
I had the same reaction to the movie. I loved it, but always think of the earlier scenes. I barely remember anything after the mom turned into a bear, but remember the beginning vividly. I did love Into the Open Air though, which is when the mom is a bear, but that's mostly just because I love the song, not really the plot.
So that's the problem with it. Nobody wanted mama bear to be a...bear.
Also, the stuff with Mor'du and the brothers was unnecessary. Even the tapestry was kinda unnecessary.
They had a good thing going in the beginning. If only the whole film could have been that good.

I loved Frozen when I was younger, but Frozen 2 was such a disappointment, especially since I looked forward to it for so long. I was always googling Frozen 2 and looking for updates about it, only to find I didn't even really like it.
The plot was just kinda bad all around. It was a mess and had too much going on, and was just bad writing. So much happened that I can't even remember all of it, while I can remember the first Frozen almost word by word. I don't need to go into all the details because everyone has seen it and knows what I'm talking about basically.

What bothers me the most was that the sisters separated. It goes against what Frozen is all about, being together again. There was even a whole song about it before. Even a little Frozen short managed to be better and more meaningful than the whole Frozen 2 movie. Heck, it was also just prettier and more visually appealing than the depressing forest in Frozen 2. Heck, and Once Upon a Time was a better Frozen sequel than the actual Frozen 2.

I did like a couple things from Frozen 2. The song Some Things Never Change was cute, even if it was unnecessary, and the autumn scene was actually quite pretty (one of the only pretty scenes in the movie). Anna's dress here is also cute, and her other pink dress was pretty cute as well. Elsa's pink dress in this song was pretty nice as well. I also like that the parents actually tried to go look for help for Elsa, as they did in Once Upon a Time.
The plot was horrible though and could have been so much better. Pretty much anything else could have been better honestly. I've actually read Frozen Fanfictions that were better sequels than Frozen 2. One of these was literally just the parents surviving and coming home and talking things out with Elsa about how they handled her and her powers. Yet it was better than Frozen 2. Another was a Frozen II Fanfiction written by Batman1809, a Fanfiction.net user.
Honestly, even just a low-key movie about Elsa and Anna processing what they went through would have been better than Frozen 2. Just anything, really. Or they could have made it based off Ozma of Oz, like a rumor suggested years ago.
Now Frozen 3 is gonna suck cuz it's based on Frozen 2.
Frozen 3 should start with Elsa waking up and realizing that the events of Frozen 2 were nothing but a fever dream from the fever she had in Frozen Fever. Then they can make an actual good movie.

The Grey Faerie

As a kid that grew up being bullied, I always related to the Grey Faerie. Apparently her name was Baelia before she lost her name, and was a light Faerie.
I hope TNT gives her a new name. I loved her as a kid, and I want her to get a happy ending.
I would name her Siva, which is Croatian for "grey."

Neopets Nostalgia
I loved Neopets as a kid, but while the site actually does still exist, I haven't really made a new account or played it in years. I'd like to, but I stopped playing it after the site gave me adware. I was too afraid if malware to ever play it again after that, and I'm still too paranoid to try it now.
I'm not sure the site even still completely works anyway. I've heard most of the games no longer work because flash is gone now.
I feel like Neopets kinda declined in quality when they introduced Neocash. Now you couldn't get some clothing items without spending real money. Even as a child, I felt like that was messed up. And I feel bad for parents with little kids begging their parents for money because of Neopets.
I might return to Neopets eventually, but even then, I don't think I could enjoy it as much as I did as a kid. I don't think I'd get much joy from collecting digital items anymore. I'd probably just replay some old games.

I loved Mamamedia as a kid. I really wanna replay the games, but the Internet Archive doesn't have them archived.
I remember Bot Blox, where the little slime monster leaves slime everywhere. I remember Flipsticks and the and the Bullseye game.
My favorite was Stamps & Stomps. I loved making the little food plate faces. I think there was a tree house one, too.
It's sad that the games aren't online anywhere. I'll never get to play them again. I even tried to contact Idit Harel on Twitter but didn't get any response.
I miss these games so much.
