Oh my god can I just like?? Say how ABSOLUTELY FUCKING AMAZING it is that in Avengers Assemble STEVE has a PAINTING of NATASHA SMILING.
Like a GENUINE smile not a smirk which is what’s usually on her face. It’s like, he got to see her smile so genuine and bright and he. Just. Had. To. Paint it.
BEAUTIFUL. 😍

‘I like the stealth suit from Cap 2. The dark, navy blue suit from the opening of Winter Soldier when I’m on the Lemurian Star, messing people up on that ship. And in the elevator! That’s my favorite. I have requested it every movie, but the people at Marvel really like a little red. They like a little red in there. Which is fine. It’s Cap; I get it.’ – Chris Evans

yeah i get it natasha romanoff is a sexy badass spy that smirks sometimes but let’s not forget that she makes dorky pop culture references, gives awkward pat on the back hugs when showing genuine affection, is almost definitely ace as hell, and “i said i’d help you find them, not catch them. there’s a difference.”
the sexy unfazed russian assassin is her facade, her mask. nat is a big dork with an even bugger heart. she’s not perfect. she’s a human with flaws and desires and insecurities who battles daily with issues of self-worth.
she’s not cold, she’s not constantly smirking, and she’s not some manic pixie wet dream reader-insert. she’s her own person and has so much worth outside of heteronormative and misogynistic relationships.
natasha romanoff is not a plot device. she is not your fave white male’s flawless, over sexualised, ‘build-him-up’ arm candy.
natasha romanoff is a flawed human being, and she deserves so much more than objectification and dehumanisation.

Toska - noun /ˈtō-skə/ - Russian word roughly translated as sadness, melancholia, lugubriousness.
“No single word in English renders all the shades of toska. At its deepest and most painful, it is a sensation of great spiritual anguish, often without any specific cause. At less morbid levels it is a dull ache of the soul, a longing with nothing to long for, a sick pining, a vague restlessness, mental throes, yearning. In particular cases it may be the desire for somebody of something specific, nostalgia, love-sickness. At the lowest level it grades into ennui, boredom.”
—Vladimir Nabokov
