Slightly different but similar idea: both of them came back to the past on their old bodies, but Viktor came first and noticed that Jayce wasn't his Jayce... Then F!Jayce comes back a few weeks after.

Cuts to them pining/missing their F!Partner while trying the utmost to act accordingly to their past selves

(Also F!Viktor trying to subtly seduce P!Jayce while F!Jayce comes and goes all: "Hello Viktor why's nothing after your name btw what do you think of the word Talis?'')

After the explosion, jayvik goes back in time, but they come in separate times.

So, F!Viktor is there, walking around with longer hair, highlights, a confident posture and just saying "Jayce? Oh he will come here some day, he always finds me"

Then, two/three weeks after, F!Jayce appears and just runs to F!Viktor with all the energy of a pup who just saw their owner after a day without them. He is kissing his entire face, twisting him around, murmuring how he missed him and just generally being all sweet and touchy.

And then young jayvik have an aneurisma.
