Mini Crochet Star Applique FREE Pattern
Tumblr media
I was decorating some Christmas cards recently and I wanted to attach some crochet star appliques.  The free crochet patterns that I found online (http://blog.mohumohu.com/post/63570888723/amigurumi-star-pattern and http://habitualhomebody.com/how-to-crochet-a-star/) were great but too big for the card.
Starting with 5 sc in a magic ring, I experimented with different combinations of stitches until I got the shape that I wanted.  The pattern that I used is below:
Tumblr media
Each star measures about 3.5 cm (1.4 in) across and takes about 5 minutes to make.  The pattern is written in US crochet abbreviations.  This is the first crochet pattern that I’ve written up in-depth so feel free to send me a message if you find anything is confusing!
Materials
Tumblr media
yellow worsted weight yarn (I used Michael’s Loops & Thread Impeccable Yellow)
2.00 or 2.55 mm crochet hook
Pattern
1st round: 5 sc in magic ring, sl st in 1st sc
2nd round: *1 sc, 1 dc, 1 sc, 1 sl st* in 1st sc, repeat for next 4 sc
FO
Pattern with pictures
Tumblr media
-Start with a magic ring (this is an awesome tutorial: http://www.allaboutami.com/post/6053699559/magiccircle),
-Crochet 5 sc into the ring, and insert crochet hook into the first sc and sl st
Tumblr media
-(beginning in middle picture) *Insert hook back into the first sc, make 1 sc, make 1 dc, make 1 sc, make 1 sl st*
Tumblr media
-Repeat these stitches *(1 sc, 1 dc, 1 sc, 1 sl st)* for each next 4 sc
Tumblr media
-After you have finished all of the corners, pull the yarn through the last st and then to the back of the star.
-Cut the yarn ends to the desired length or make a knot in the back with them
-Pinch the corners of the star as needed.

Can I purchase the Pokémon character pattern?
Which Pokemon? I have several different Pokemon posts on this blog. Also I do not sell any original patterns. You would have to look up the original artist and see if they are selling any patterns.

Ich verstehe deine Zeichen nicht ...was bedeutet z.b. sc
Die Bedingungen sind in englischer Sprache. Sie können die Begriffe nachschlagen und übersetzen. Hier ist eine Seite, die nützlich sein könnte.
single crochet (sc) = feste Masche (fM)
half double crochet (hdc) = halbes Stäbchen (Hstb)
double crochet (dc) = Stäbchen (Stb)
slip stitch ( ss OR slst) = Kettmasche (Km)

On the alien pattern, how do you attach the head so it doesn’t just buckle down? Is there a certain way to stuff the neck or something?
To answer your question, I would insert something into the neck to make it more sturdy. Like some wire or a wooden stick. I saw a tiktok were someone bought foam rollers from the dollar store to use as neck support on their doll.
But also on a side note, I’ve been getting a lot of asks about an alien pattern. I’m assuming it’s THIS ONE since it has been having more activity lately.  I am not the creator of that pattern. Looks like the original creator is no longer on Tumblr so I wouldn’t know how to contact them. I have not attempted to make that alien either. But with all the asks, I’m kind of half-tempted to try and give you guys my experience with it.

Our mom asked for a crocheted tablecloth. After 3 years and many spools of thread later, we have finally finished it!! It actually looks pretty nice. But it wasn’t easy as we thought it’d be when we first started this. Easy to say we’re never doing anything like this again 😅 It’s made up of a total of 140 squares. 10 squares by 14 squares. I don’t remember the exact link of where I found the pattern for this. I’d just like to note that it took me several tries to figure out I needed to use a size 8 hook.

I had a request to make a bouquet. i was told that i could pick the colors and i went with basic red, white, and pink. These work up pretty fast once you get the hang of it. Unfortunately i did not have any wire to use for the stems so I had to make do with some wooden sticks that was available. The roses still came out nice, but there is no bend to the stems at all. These were on display at an event we went to and there were actually several people interested in buying them.  Maybe I’ll make more and sell them individually.

My sister and I decided to get matching tattoos. Originally I was planning on going by myself but I told my sister my plan and she said she wanted to go too. Since she liked the image I picked out, she decided we should be matching. I chose the sleeping fox because foxes are my favorite animal and I think they look so cute when they are all curled up while sleeping.
I was following a tattoo artist on Instagram ( @tattooist_yeono ) that I thought was really great. She posted that she was coming to work in Los Angeles. My sister and I are in the Bay Area (SF area) and so I decided that we could fly out to LA to get tatted.
I wasn’t sure if my mom would let us fly out to LA just for a tattoo so I told her that sister and I were taking a quick trip to Hollywood to see the Hollywood stars and other stuff around there. She was surprised but was ok with that.
With that, we set up our appointment and flight. We arrived at LAX about 8 am, got breakfast, saw some Hollywood Stars that were near the 10k Foxes Studio, and then spent the rest of the day with Yeono getting our foxes tatted. It took approximately 4 hours for each of us to get our tattoos finished. The pain was surprisingly non-existent. It just felt like she was using a pencil to write on my skin.
The day of our appointment also happened to be Yeono’s birthday. As a gift for her birthday and as a thanks for tattooing us, we decided to make some sleeping foxes. I thought it was also nice since the studio is called 10k Foxes. She seemed really glad to get them as presents. Looked like she was about to cry for a second. Some of the other staff couldn’t tell if our gift was a cat or dog lol. Overall, it was a very memorable experience and I am glad that everything turned out well.

A co-worker asked for a matching cardigan and hat set. She loves pink and wanted something with lots of strawberries. This is the end result. Pictures of sister modeling the hat and sweater. The last picture is a happy customer with her purchase. Everyone at work says that she looks a kindergartener ready for school with the outfit and bag lol. She is happy with final product tho.

Adipose! This cute little piece of fat was first attempted back when I was in high school and has just been sitting in my WIP pile until last year when I finally finished putting him together. He’s pretty adorable! He actually was for sale at one of my pop-up events and went home with someone who didn’t know it was a thing from Doctor Who. I had written Adipose on the tag and she just thought it was a cute piece of fat.

Can you tell me what FO means in crochet patterns
FO means to fasten off/ finish off. It just let's you know that the project is finished and you can now sew in any ends or close up a circle.
