Ask Reese a question!!!!!
I am so bored I can't freaking stand it, and I want to develop Reese a little more! So, send this sweet boy some asks! If you feel like it, you can even set a little scene for where he's being asked the question! (is he being tortured? Imprisoned? On the job? Cuddling with his boyfriend?)
Reese will answer each question!

Whumper: "Look at you, all tied up and no place to go."
Whumpee, restrained to a chair: "Isnt the expression 'all dressed up' and no place to go?"
Whumper: "Oh shut up. You know what I meant."

TW: blood mention
I love when whumpees are peering out of hiding spots, expecially when there's no need to be hiding.
From between the curtains or blinds to watch Caretaker come home
From between wooden slats in the wall of a shed they were abandoned in
From the space under the furniture
From inside a blanket nest
From a dark room where all that can be seen is the glare off their big, sweet eyes
From behind their outgrown bangs
From the blood dripping over their eyes
From where they're huddled against Caretaker inside their jacket for comfort

dehumanize your whumpees!! put cigarettes out on their bruised skin. make them eat days-old food. carve degrading and insulting words into their skin. give them expired medicine. keep them chained to the wall by a leash and collar that’s too tight and barely gives them any room for movement. make them ask for permission before speaking or standing or breathing. dehumanize your whumpees. <3

I don't have a good pairing to represent this but I need it now 🤣
Whumpee: How come you've been abnormally nice to me lately?
Whumper: What do you mean?
Whumpee: You just seem nicer than usual
Whumper: I'll punch you in the face if you want

The shelter wasn't used to receiving pets like this one. They mostly took in strays, or pets that owners had to surrender due to behavioral problems. Of course, the owner and staff didn't mind this: at Pick of the Litter Pet Shelter, they had a track record for taking unruly pets and making them the best, most behaved pets outside of a professional, long-term, expensive trainer. But this pet was nothing like those.
This pet was incredibly well-behaved.
The owner came inside with the pet trailing obediently behind him, head down. The pet had a tight collar around his throat, and seemed to be struggling to breathe. He also had a blindfold securely fastened over his eyes, forcing him to rely entirely on his owner and the leash attached to the collar to guide him.
"Hello, sir, welcome to--"
The owner waved his hand to hush the employee. He just yanked the pet harder, causing him to choke slightly. He finally stopped by the door to the kennel.
"Kneel down and stay here."
The pet immediately obeyed, kneeling on the ground and folding his hands in his lap. The man, still clutching the leash, yanked on it to get him to choke again before removing the leash and walking for the door.
The employee blinked, then followed.
"Sir, may I ask where you're going? Do you have an appointment, does your pet need training--"
"I'm done with that useless thing." The man spat. "It's too fucking clingy and desperate for attention and, and just too good and behaved. You can have it." The employee was unable to question anything else as the man stormed off, slamming the door on the way out. The pet jumped in the corner, whimpering. But still, he didn't move.
The employee frowned and walked over to the pet, crouching down next to him.
"Hello there." He said softly. The pet was trembling where he knelt, but turned his head towards the voice. "Hmm, you're having a hard time breathing, aren't you little one?" The pet nodded. "Here, I can help with that." Slowly, the employee reached out and touched the collar, starting to unbuckle it. He was gentle as he pulled it off completely, and grinned as the pet was able to take deeper breaths.
"There you go, that must feel better. Now--" the employee gently pulled the blindfold off. The pet flinched and blinked, trying to get used to the artificial lights of the shelter. His eyes were bloodshot, and a few tears slipped down his face. The sight broke the employee's heart.
"Oh sweetie..." He moved closer, gently stroking the pet's hair. "It's okay. What's wrong?"
The pet started sobbing. "M-Master w-wasn't happy wi-with me... I-I tried to-to be g-g-good... n-now he-he does, doesn't w-w-want me..." He whimpered.
The employee frowned and moved closer, pulling the pet into a gentle hug. "Shh, it's okay, darling. It's okay. You know, it sounds like you've been very good, but your old owner didn't want that. So he brought you here." He continued to stroke the pet's hair, letting him sob into his chest. "There you go, let it all out. It's okay. You just want to be good, don't you? You want to belong somewhere?"
"Mm-hmm." The pet nodded, not looking up. He wanted so badly to be good enough.
"Well, we're a pet shelter. We help find pets homes that will be perfect for them. And I'm sure we'll find a place for you where you'll be the best pet for your new owner."
Sniffling, the pet looked up. "R-really?" He whispered, sounding so hopeful.
"Of course! Now, let's get you cleaned up and fed, hmm? And we can settle you into your room." The employee stood and offered his hand to the pet, who took it gratefully. He practically clung to him.
"Th-thank you, S-Sir."
The employee chuckled. "Oh, little one, you don't need to call me 'Sir'. That sounds much too formal. How about... Mister Alex?"
The pet blinked, seeming to consider it. "Th-thank you, M-M... Mister Alex." For the first time since getting to the shelter, the pet smiled.
This pet was indeed unique.
