NEF: Thoughts on Ep 25
Asule finally sees Ji Ye again... only to find him kill someone. Shit. When he confronts Ji Ye after he killed Sun Zhimiao, Ji Ye tells Asule that Sun Zhimiao deserves to die – but doesn’t add anything else. After shaking his head minimally Asule tells him: “There has to be a misunderstanding. You wouldn’t kill innocent people. Come with me.”
Asule doesn’t say implicitly that he believes Sun Zhimiao to be innocent, thus he could've also meant that Sun Zhimiao might actually have been guilty. But the wording makes it sound as if Asule believes Sun Zhimiao is innocent, even after Ji Ye’s statement, and that maybe Ji Ye was manipulated into killing an innocent. Thus, Ji Ye’s reaction is very understandable.
Also, I believe Asule’s first instinct is to help Ji Ye. He wants to get Ji Ye away first, and then find out all about what went wrong leading to that murder – he certainly would have believed Ji Ye, if he had told him then. And then he would have planned with Ji Ye how to help him out of that situation, cause after the scene he caused, it’s obvious, Jie Ye’d be punished by authorities. Then Ying Yu appears and I feel as if Asule realizes Ji Ye already has backer, through which the imperial family can’t touch him and that he is (at least in that sense) safe. Also awwwwww, the way Asule shields Ji Ye after the emperor and his entourage arrive.
Letting Ji Ye go with her after he killed Sun Zhimiao is also how Ying Yu ‘saves’ Ji Ye’s life and why he later believes he needs to fulfil the three tasks of her (even though she is the one who not only tortured him, but also orchestrated the whole murder, putting him into that situation in the first place. Ugh!)
At 37:55 Ying Yu tells her father that she beat (aka tortured) Ji for HALF A MONTH…HOW GODDAMN DARE SHE?!

NEF: Thoughts on Ep 24
In the scroll Asule has been given by the Celestial Ministry, could its content maybe describe that he’d need to die and be revived so that nothing would happen? It would explain, why after his revival his illness never played a role again. And if so, there's a possibility that all of Asule’s ancestors with the Bronze Blood had a deal with the Celestial Ministry to keep living. Could that be why his grandfather kept on living instead of dying young, even after using the godlike power until he went mad?
When Yi Tianzhan speaks with the Emperor at 36:17, he says he hasn’t seen such a gaze like the Emperor's before and that it reminds him of Emperor Rose and Fengyan. Could that mean he was alive in Emperor Rose’s and Fengyan’s eras? I mean it would be possible as Fengyan seems to be the Emperor’s dad as spoken about in Ep. 27. Continuing down that line the Feather Tribe might've actually helped these two deceased emperors and that’s how Yi Tianzhan became an Eagle and got passed down the gauntlet? How he got the mindset to repeat such a similar action against the Tyrant of his people until he got banned?

NEF: Thoughts on Ep 20
Baili Jinghong tells Asule that he actually likes Yu Ran and I believe that this is true and also part of the reason Asule shows a moment of cowardice in the cells and doesn’t tell Ji Ye about the marriage between him and Yu Ran. But I think at that time Asule himself can’t yet really differentiate between romantic and platonic love, because after killing Longge Qin he shifted the feelings he had for her onto others until Lei Beicheng makes him remember that repressed memory – first Suma, until he realizes that it was codependence and then Yu Ran, maybe. And I also think he doesn’t want Ji Ye to hate him like he tells Yu Ran afterwards.
When Asule tells Yu Ran that without Ji Ye he wouldn’t even have the right to marry her, I feel he means her content to marry him (even if that content is forced through the situation), because otherwise he’d never do it.
In terms of Asule & Yu Ran believing that Ji Ye was sent to the border as a soldier --> even if they didn’t believe it and asked for example Xi Yan (I doubt Asule would want to involve him, but Yu Ran maybe), it would still be hard to get the information they want with them being under suspicion and supervision.
Gong Yu Yi and Yu Ran talking shows to me why Baili Jinghong would believe that marrying Yu Ran and Asule could still benefit him, even if there is no blood relation. Because there is a deep familiar bond between Gong Yu Yi and Yu Ran and Gong Yu Yi stands steadfast at Baili Jinghong’s side.
Actually Baili Jinghong saying that Asule is an outsider in regards to the Eagle Flag is somewhat the truth: in the beginning he didn't want to be their leader, didn't feel he deserved it.

NEF: Thoughts on Ep 16
When Yi Tian Zhan shows Xi Yan his armoured arm and says it was left by his ancestors, bestowed by the late emperor and that it’s also a spirit-sealed weapon, my head cannon is: Even if he is of the Winged Tribe one of his ancestors was an Eagle and that’s how he also inherited his mindset (how he was inspired by the Eagle Flag as he says in EP 43) and wanted to convince the Winged Emperor to not be a tyrant. But he only got the weapon after having been banned and gone to East Land and not too long after the disaster in his homeland happened.
Baili Yin takes Yu Ran with him to the cave because he wants to settle the score between himself, Asule and Ji Ye. Also in the vision that shown him in regard to his father’s death, the grandfather of Ji Ye attacked Baili Yin’s father, thus he recognized the spear, which made him want to kill Ji Ye even more. He didn’t care if Yu Ran got hurt in the process (the price she would have to pay for being friends with his enemies). Also, he needed someone the stone guards would focus on, while he could approach the sword (which hadn’t yet awakened when he stepped towards it) without worry.
Then when he accused all of them of having the weapons of the Tianqi, it was in his madness of the Azure Cloud Tooth Sword and the feelings of his late father, seeing in them (or rather in Ji Ye’s spear) what his father had seen in the comrades that later betrayed him. Cause Yu Ran certainly didn’t have a weapon of the Eagles. Then again it would be interesting if he meant Ji Ye and Asule (the souls of the Azure Cloud Tooth Sword making him recognize the sabre and spear) – thus the sabre, Asule inherited thanks to his grandfather might have been a weapon of an Eagle, who had either married into the Northern Tribe or who had been killed by them and his weapon had been taken. The reason Yu Ran can’t escape Baili Jin’s grasp even though he is gravely injured is because he once again got rid of the pain by the sorcery of the Celestial Ministry – if he didn’t even already get healed by Lei Bi Cheng. And Baili Jin was a trained soldier while Yu Ran, while being very fast and full of tricks didn’t have the strength needed to break free.
You Changji survived the attack of his former Eagles but was wounded so badly that death was certain. In this state the sword no longer recognized him as its master and started to devour anyone too close to it (Eagles who followed You Changji into the Baili Ancenstral Grave). In the Ancestral Grave he used his remaining power to seal himself and the sword (see Ep 8, 4:07)
Xi Yan actually throws the ring of You Changji, of the Eagle Flag leader into a river. Thus Asule’s ring, the new ring of the Eagle’s Leader is the one of his foster dad.
I don't think the ring of Asule's foster dad was ever a fingercot of the Eagles before, because they look different:

The foster dad's ring has a part standing up and it’s thinner than the fingercot. But I can't help but find this idea interesting~~~
Btw I'm calling the 'Heavenly Samurai' Eagles and their Order Eagle Flag. First read it in one of @dangermousie's posts...
... and suddenly the title made so much more sense to me, lmfao.

NEF: Thoughts on Ep 11
Lmfao, not Asule after his vision of Ji Ye and all of the Eastlanders of Lower Tang dying and only him surviving, sneaking off the horse without Prince Jiu nor any of his Tiger-Leopard-Cavalry being any wiser about it thanks to the battle. No one realizes when he rushes towards the place where the Iron Brigade is stationed (cause they weren’t yet on the battle at that point of time). Then he would also have to change armour really fast lmfao. And only then does he rush out again as a part of the Iron Brigade.
And I think he doesn’t only do it because of Ji Ye, but because they’re allies with Lower Tang and like General Xi Yan said it are turbulent times and Prince Jiu and Qingyang can’t escape them, even if they retreat back to Northland. And if Lower Tang falls, their provision deal would be off.
Also, when he cuts the chains between his horse and the two others of the Iron Buddha, he is alone in his charge and does not endanger the Iron Buddha Army any longer.

Am already enthralled 🤩
WIP Wednesday! This is a charity oneshot for Voulve, who donated to the Happy Cat Sanctuary fund! CangLan, with a mysterious beginning. 👀
There was nothing grand about Dongfang Qingcang’s rebirth. One moment, he did not exist in this world, and in the next, there he stood surrounded by the scent of Xiao Lanhua’s flowers, which he could recognize before he even opened his eyes. He expected to see her when he did so. He did not know why; after all, she could have been anywhere in the three realms at this moment. He knew he was important to her, but that did not mean she’d spend every minute of every day watching over the fragment of his soul that was under her protection. Nonetheless, and perhaps it was because he himself assumed he would await her presence to awaken, he anticipated her being right there, in the small garden with him. But there was no one there, and he stood alone in the greenhouse, feeling strangely uneasy.
#love between fairy and devil#lbfad#canglan#wip wednesday#Poory bby dfqc#he just awoke and no one is there to greet him 😢#already making up theories why XLH might not be there#so exciting!!!#thank you thank you thank you!!!#SO LOOKING FORWARD TO IT 😍😍🤩🤩😍😍

And here I am again with a specific question ♡
Dongfang Qingcang is the best man in all three worlds and possibly one of the best male characters to ever exist? Is there anything you would like to say about him?
Ok, anything that comes to my mind while thinking about best boi here? Don't mind me if this turns into a long ramble xD
Most of the time he's very rational, always questioning things and drawing conclusions and learning from them (surely a remnant from his emotionless self), and then when it's about big decisions 'KABOOM' his feelings take the lead and he lets them, makes them his guide - because that's who he is in his core: a person overflowing with emotions. And now he can finally rediscover that person and no one will make him discard these pieces of himself ever again.
He always stands to his decisions and never lets others take the blame.
He's an absolute badass bitch and possesses some of the best dry sass ever (ESPECIALLY when he gets to mock fairies).
He's also a dramaqueen and has very, very high beauty & fashion standards for himself (his hair, his attires, his make-up). I headcannon that he uses his appearance as weapon to gain a reputation that both makes fairies fear him and inspires his own people, starting as kid who just claimed the throne. Building up his own fearsome persona as the Moon Supreme. Also I'll die on the hill that in the mortal realm, he drew his makeup to make him look so doe-eyed on purpose.
He tends to just brute-force his way through things, and I believe he doesn't only do so because he got the capacity in spades. I like to think that it's the culture of his people and in the beginning, he's not only their sword and shield, but also their representation - what better way to boost their morale than achieving victory their way? But behind this, he's actually a big nerd, who loves, loves, loves reading. If possible I can see him trying to do everything by the book and the information he discovers.
Dude is a bundle of childhood trauma, whose first response is to suffer through the most horrible tortures for his people, because that's the method daddy beat into him. He also believes the worst of himself and behind the Moon-Supreme-facade his self-esteem lies in tatters on the ground. Honestly, the way he turned out, after everything the world and the late Moon Supreme put him through, is a miracle.
He's a horrible cook. But well, if he's as focused on improving himself in that matter as he was as amateur gardener, then maybe someday he'll be able to make a decent meal. Go, DFQC, you can do it!

And I immediately continue to ask♡
Have you rewatched LBFAD? If yes, how many times? Or are you going to rewatch it again in the future?
Yes, OF COURSE I've rewatched LbFaD! I'm currently not sure wether I've rewatched four of five times till now. And that's not counting all the parts I've watched for research of because I just adored them so much. Also, I totally plan to rewatch!

LBFAD-ask is here♡
What does LBFAD mean to you? Has it influenced anything? Has it changed anything for you? Has it inspired you? Did you get something absolutely special from this drama?
What it means to me... this is something I'll have to go into myself to find out about, because I never thought about this consciously before. At some point it was just there, nestled in my soul. If I had to describe it, maybe a safe-space? A mental safe space I can rely on when I have to leave my actual safe space and which helps me to push forward? A source of happiness I can dip into by just thinking about it, when I don't feel well or stressed or whatever? Well it's something along those lines ;3
It set new standards for me, that for sure; be it the characters, the love in all its forms, the constumes, the CGI, etc... It gave me tons of inspiration, from the way the story and all these fascinating parallels are built to the characters themselves to the worldbuilding. Thanks to LbFaD I finished my first story (fanfiction) ever, which I believe helped me immensly in regards to my original story, from plotting to me finishing it (or at least the current draft). I think it actually changed my perception of love and emotions and let me get a deeper understanding of it, but also of myself in some ways.
It'll stay a part of me forever 💕💕💕

HI!
I know that the last question was not easy, but I was so interested in your answers and they are so close to me ♡
Today I have the same question that was often asked to the actors of LBFAD. Which of XLH`s outfits are more beautiful for you? The outfits of the Cangyan Hai or the outfits of Shuiyuntian? And will you tell why?
Oh! That one is easy for me: I like her Cangyanhai outfits more than the Shuiyuntian outfits.
Reason 1: Her hair accessories. I adore the elegant Cangyanhai hair accessory with the pearls. It's so aesthetic. Meanwhile my first thought about her fairy hair accessory was that it looked plastic... in comparison to her Cangyanhai accessory it also gives off a clunky feeling to me. Though it does fit her at that point of time with XLH fumbling through her life without a real goal or purpose other than becoming CH's servant. Or that's how I feel.
Reason 2: I just like the (dark) blue/turquoise far more than the mostly white or very light colours. Not only because of the colours per se, but I also link her change of style to finding her identity, her confidence and her sense of belonging. In my eyes the more she grows into herself, the more vivid the colours she wears become and that's beautiful.

Hello! This anonimus came today with an interesting question, and of course about LBFAD
This show is so beautiful, and it has so many unique locations, high-quality special effects and thousands of details that want to look at again and again. But I will still ask. What 3 moments in the show seem especially aesthetic and breathtaking to you?
Another hard question I see ;)
Alright, let's get this started in a chronological order:
1.)
XLH freeing (kissing) DFQC from his imprisoned state in the Haotian tower. The exploding, vivid swirls of colours and Canglan being the centre speaks for itself. It's so SO beautiful. And also ALSO: the most prominent colours mirror their later powers (the turquoise green of XLH's goddess power and the red of DFQC's Liuli Fire). It especially reminds me of the scene when XLH frees (kisses) DFQC from Taisui's control/imprisonment inside his own body and their awakened powers intertwine with each other. Coincidence?
2.)
Skywhale, skywhale, SKYWHALE!!! This scene is so utterly breathtaking and leaves me speechless with awe. It takes my 1st spot in LbFaD's most aesthetically rocking scenes and won't ever budge.
3.)
The brusque cliffs on the sides with an elegant bridge arching between them, all dipped in moonlight, fog shrouding the landscape beneath and aurora lights dancing overhead in the sky, giving the whole scene mystical vibes as if in a dreamscape. Do I need to add anything else?

This anonymous is here again!
I enjoyed your first answer so much. I will definitely repost and comment this later, because I need to sigh loudly and admiringly about it.
This time I have a pretty detailed question. How did you meet LBFAD and when/how did you realize that it became something special for you?
Looking forward to get answers ♡
Awwwww thank you, happy to hear that. I'll be looking forward to your comment ❤️
Now then, off to your second question:
I first started watching LbFaD in Christmas holidays; being sick with covid 19 and staying quarantined in my room. I was looking through Netflix for something, anything to watch when I caught eye of this series. It sounded and looked like an easy watch, one that didn't need too many thoughts - perfect for the state I was in ... or so I thought. In short I didn’t expect much.
The first body-switch already hooked me cause their acting & the humour was amazing, but it was more of a 'ohhh-nice'-feeling, still superficial.
EP 18 was the turning point in which I became VERY much invested. DFQC‘s confrontation with his dad made me bawl inconsolably for like 45 min (my mom peeked into my room at that time and I had to explain why I was sobbing whole rivers lol). I must've rewatched that scene five times before I could move on. I have to admit that up until that episode I‘d harbored a certain mistrust towards DFQC because of comments I had read about his novel version (who as far as I understand - without ever having read the novel - is not at all like drama DFQC). After that emotional confrontation and XLH consoling DFQC when he broke down in the Late Moon Supreme's chamber, all my mistrust went 'poof'. And with nothing left to hold me back, I fell into the LbFaD rabbit hole to never return. No regrets there.
I believe I still didn't realize that LbFaD had become special to me while watching, because I binged the whole series in like one and a half day. The realization only sunk in afterwards, when I just COULDN'T LET GO. I immediately binged it a second time while also scrambling for any and all mentions in the net about LbFaD. I NEEDED clarification (honestly, there was so much I didn't realize or understood on my first watch, like for example, I somehow thought CH was betrothed to Lady Chidi which confused the hell out of me 😂😂) & people who got my fixation. Besides that I also just wanted to get lost in these realms and their characters forever and ever and ever...

Hi! We are in the same lineup at The LBFAD Mountain and Moon Festival ♡ I hope you're doing well and ready for this fun? So here's the question. Which of Dongfang Qingcang's outfits do you like the most and why?
Have a gret day!
Hi!
Yeeeeeees, I'm ready, gimme the questions 💕
Phew, that's a good one. And also a hard one because all of DFQC's outfits look so gorgeous.
Hmmmmmmmm....if I have to choose, I think I'd take this one as my favourite:
I adore the warm colours and it looks very comfy to wear (one of his most cozy attires as far as I recall).
Also, I love how the gown seems linked to the growth of DFQC's emotions as it often appears when he confronts them: be it happy emotions, for example when he lets the petals dance through the air for XLH or horrible emotions like the time he tries to burn down his love tree.
Btw, just realizing, but this dress's colour scheme also reminds me of DFQC's love tree and the sea of his emotions: Deep brown like the bark, gold and creme like the melting touch of sunlight breaking through the clouds and the subtle hints of green like the leaves that are starting to sprout again~
Thanks for your question and I hope you also have an awesome day!
