hi! to answer this question of why i think stede was being a jerk about that (i love stede i just found this comment interesting) is that ed was experimenting with something new that he had never tried before and was allowing himself to be vulnerable with stede in a way that he’s not with anyone else. ed is blackbeard to everyone else, ruthless and brave and violent and badass, but with stede he was simply showing him a fish he caught and opening himself up to be made fun of or mocked, though he knew stede would never do that. stede WAS genuinely happy and proud of ed but in that moment he diminished his fishing down to something mediocre and boring, confirming ed’s belief that no one would take him seriously and would not care about his fish. i hope this helped and i totally understand where you are coming from!

oh boy i'm about to get fuckin laid off again baby (cost cutting! and the marketing team is always the first to go! damn you!)
they said tuesday next week is my last day and my last paycheck was 2 weeks ago. i don't have much.
