The Open Starter Project was created to be a holding ground for multi-fandom open starters of all types — including OC’s! If you’re interested in crossover games but don’t know where to begin, or if you want to find roleplayers in your own fandom and don't know how to start, the starting point is right here!
We'll reblog your open starters for others to find, but never without permission. If you have an existing, old starter that needs more attention, or if you have a brand new one that you'd like to share, submit them to us and we'll post them on our page. All we need is your OK to do so!
Check out our blog for more information, and share this with your partners so we can continue to boost your starters. Thank you for the support!

Don't be too shy! Isn't that what an open post is for?
Sometimes a person posts an open starter because they themselves are too shy to approach other people. If everyone is afraid to reach out then no one would ever roleplay! What do you have to lose, really, by responding?
If you're looking for a sign, this is it!
whEN U WANNA REPLY TO AN OPEN RP BUT UR TOO SHY„„„„

M!A Open Starter
Due to Rogue’s now new height and build she had to borrow a uniform for temporary terms. She now had the Heavy’s shirt on which was quite loose on her midsection and slightly around the arms and she had also borrowed some pants from Soldier which thankfully fit her…um…him rather well…
"How did this frickin’ happen? Like…did one of our Medic’s have nothing better to do? I LIKED being a chick…just because there is mostly dudes on this team doesn’t mean they had to TURN me into one…"
Rogue sighed heavily as she…er…ah whatever… he took out one of his RUSH soda’s and quickly chugged it then smashed the can on his forehead, flattening it before tossing it aside for the time being.

We understand what that's like, but sometimes it can be difficult. For example, certain starter memes only apply if your characters already know each other.
We've also noticed that people can be too shy to send starters, or respond to memes. Remember that this is a two way street -- if someone doesn't respond to yours, you can always respond to theirs if you want that interaction with them. Sometimes all it takes is for one person to break the ice!

If you ever have a starter that you think should get more attention, feel free to send it our way and we'll reblog or repost it for you. We can't guarantee any responses, but it can be a good way to find new partners!

Yes! We believe that a starter can come from anywhere, even something seemingly small like an ask box meme. Even the simplest of events can turn into an amazing plot with enough water and sun.

Click here to respond to this starter! (If the link does not work, reblog it from the original poster.)
Scarred fingers tightened around the base of the umbrella. Sore and stiff, he found the motion a bit difficult to commit to, but forced it regardless of the numbing sensation. Caught out in the rain. That was hardly his idea of a good time. His luck was awful and he found that he wasn’t even a tad bit surprised at his current situation. His other hand held within it a small, spherical object. Constructed of metal, it looked odd against the backdrop of the rain. But he didn’t want it to get ruined. He needed the money that it could bring in.
Turning the object around, he glanced over the cravings embedded within it. It certainly had taken him quite a bit of time to get the designs the costumer had asked for correct, but that made him all the happier with the nearly finished work. But perhaps he shouldn’t be admiring the object in the rain while he was walking. His wet glove proving to not have a decent grip on the sphere, fingers slipping along its surface as it spiraled out of his hand. Smacking against the wet ground and promptly rolling away.
A startled yelp of surprise parted his lips and he rushed after it, only to slip on the ground and fall onto his back. The pain quickly shoved aside as he struggled to get up, spotting someone else out in the weather in the process. “A-ah, excuse me!” His voice was soft and he could only pray that it would be heard. “T-that sphere, please could you catch it,” He called out as the object made its way towards the stranger.

We agree with this user! We've been roleplaying for ten years, on multiple platforms, and the advice that you give is, from experience, very valid. Perhaps some people could give slightly different answers for the more subjective questions, but generally you're a very big help. You are very undeserving of that kind of negative criticism.
Your advice is actually really good and appreciated :( It's helpful and I've found much use of it especially since I'm a newcomer. Please don't listen to that anon.
Thank you so much for all the kind messages I received concerning that anon last night.
I would have said something sooner, but I had to turn off my computer because I was pretty upset.
Thank you all for your kindness and support. It really does mean more than I can convey.

The Lost Dark One.
Rumpelstiltskin was just siting in his…belle’s old chair as he thinks on all the mistakes he has made over his long life, why did he have to be such a fool, if he has the courage that bae or belle had then he wouldn’t be the coward he is now but he is that coward and even with the dark ones powers that would never change no matter hard he tried. he hated his cowardice but that didn’t matter, soon all of his plans will come together and he will find his bae and that’s all that matters now. he suddenly feels some kind of energy coming the dark castle. he soon sees the bight light…flying right for him. as the light hits him its enveloped him and he passes out. he soon opens his brown reptilian eyes to find that he is not in the dark castle anymore.

—a little fall of rain can hardly hurt me—
▬▬✦; It was a beautiful day, and quite warm too. The clear blue sky was accented by puffy white clouds—the peaceful way the sky should always remain.
To relish in the beauty of the spring day, Shinra had settled on taking a walk through the upper city, perhaps grabbing a bite to eat along the way. Honno was a large city, and she hadn’t even toured its entire being yet. With plenty of daylight yet, she had planned on that being her goal.
Enamored by the sights of the city, the kamui had stopped paying attention to the sky, which had grown increasingly darker. The puffy white clouds had taken a negative turn as well, expanding and becoming a dark gray. She stiffened as she felt a few raindrops land on her face, head turning upward to take note of the change.
Shinra was too far away from home to make it back in time. Even knowing that she continued to run as the rain poured down faster. The slick pavement was difficult to navigate on, and with one slight misstep the girl came crashing to the ground. She remained seated, paralyzed in fear as thunder rumbled overhead.

it makes me incredibly nervous to reply to open starters and asks and other things, because I always start to think whether or not the person actually wants me to reply, or if I’ll be a burden. But then I feel really bad if no one else replies, but I still can’t get the nerve to do it myself.

Interchanged ..//OPEN
Really, it could be worse.

Sure, it was a little hard to get used to having longer legs (they had tripped over their own feet a few times), and they learned pretty quickly that taking the headphones off was really unpleasant… and they were a bit confounded about the change in their tastebuds and the fact that they were somehow still hungry—they never ate much normally. Okay, so maybe this was pretty weird. But they could think of a few ways in which it could be worse.
No use dwelling on it, though, they thought with a sigh, leaning onto the railing outside their apartment door. Didn’t this guy—the proper owner of this body—come around here sometimes? Ah, that wasn’t quite right—it wasn’t him, but the albino boy who looked just like him who lived around here. Strange how alike they looked, particularly after Cyber got a closer look at this one’s face—really, he looked exactly like a palette swap of the other boy. How strange; maybe they were twins?
They heard a nearby door swing open and turned to face the sound, bearing a curious expression in sharp golden eyes.

{ this is a really great idea of a blog! I hope you start bringing roleplayers together and it continues! :3
Thank you very much! We really appreciate the support. We know that the RP community is large, but we're hoping to initiate some interaction between the different fandoms!

We completely agree! Isn't that what they're there for?
Friendly reminder: An open starter is an open starter.
Is there some rule that says you can’t reply to it? No?
Then go for it :3

Notice: Brand New Starters
Since we are still new, we're still learning, growing, and adapting.
Because we are avid RP'ers, ourselves, we realize that starters with notes are less likely to receive responses (even if the notes are just Likes). If we receive a starter that has 0 notes, instead of reblogging it we'll repost it with a link that, when clicked, will reblog directly from your original post. That way your fresh starter might get more attention.
We'll also refrain from Liking new starters with 0 notes, unless the starter is a few days old (and probably pushed back several pages on your blog).
However, starters that already have 1+ notes will be reblogged as usual.
This is just a notice in case you're wondering why we repost new starters instead of reblogging!
